  • A city of 25 million people, with more than 25000 buildings standing 12 floors or more, it has more high rises than anywhere else. It is also the most important economic engine in China, and right here the pace of civilizational transformation is more evident than anywhere else, A seductive display of China’s power, this is Shanghai.

    I was feeling a little down today, but seeing this video on Shanghai brought me back a sense of wonder and inspiration. It is great to see what people can accomplish in this world. I didn't know about that 500 meter rule either. Great information.

      We all have bad days, it’s part of life! Your comment is actually well received! I am glad that the content we are sharing can help radiate that sense of inspiration you are mentioning. I actually feel that way every time I visit cities like Hong Kong, Shanghai, Shenzhen or Chongqing! Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more cool content!

      I dont like the rule tall build not allowed, China build tall build is to boom economics not compare the height of the building with others.

    • @OldBen
      @OldBen Месяц назад +3

      @@userwest626 I actually think it makes good sense. There comes a point where building beyond a certain height isn't pratical or optimal for safety. Designers may push the limit for vanity, so that they can make a claim of "World's Tallest Building". China has made a commitment not to engage in this vanity.

    Shanghai is not only the largest and wealthiest city in China, it is also the manufacturing hub of China. Shanghai has three large ship yards, commercial aircraft manufacturer, car plants, nuclear power station equipment manufacturer, chip research and manufacturing, and also ZPMC which manufactures gigantic dock cranes.

    Compare the largest city in China-Shanghai-with the largest city in America-New York City. New York City should hang its head in shame.
    Compare Shanghai's subway with New York City's subway. 🤣
    Compare Shanghai's homelessness with New York City's homelessness. (Hint: Shanghai has no homelessness.)
    Compare Shanghai's crime rate with New York City's crime rate. (Hint: Shanghai has no crime.)

      @@horridohobbies so many Chinese confused and ignorant about USA. Remember most Chinese live in cities …..Over 65% of Chinese live in cities in cement boxes they call home. Only 15% of USA live in big cities like New York etc. Most Americans live in suburban or rural areas in single family homes on land . American also own homes forever and hand down homes to their families when they pass . As opposed to lease in China where wealth can’t be handed down as easily to future generations.
      With much less population density high speed rail etc is not justified especially given that USA has more than double the airports and commercial aircraft of China. USA now introducing supersonic flight in near future.
      Most Chinese don’t even realize they have 3 million homeless people compared to USA’s 600k homeless. Less than a fraction of 1% are homeless in USA. You don’t see homeless in suburban areas where most Americans live. Homeless tend to be concentrated in cities as that only place they are tolerated.
      And yes you will find some routes in NYC that are in bad parts of city in disrepair but many lines are very nice. USA is seeing almost huge improvement in all subways in cities as well. Seattle and Silicon Valley on west coast are seeing big changes. Remember unlike typical Chinese many Americans never ride a subway because they live in rural or suburban areas. The recently completed new York stations are nice and more stations are seeing renovations this year. ruclips.net/video/Db2DBYCegK0/видео.html
