Justin Herbert being the exception - was a QBb he inherited(& actually just kinda fell in the Ducks lap as he was a preferred walk on from a local high school) & most feel his production was stifled under Mario. After Herbert graduated, his successor(Tyler Shough) was very up & down in his only season as a starter with Oregon & ended up taking a backseat to transfer Anthony Brown by season's end. Brown would go on to start the next year & really struggle in the passing game(although his running ability did pay some dividends in Cristobal's offense). So i guess i'm not all that surprised that Miami's offense hasn't looked that good so far this season. But i do believe Cristobal will put a solid product on the field in Coral Gables. Just give it some time.
@@the503creepout7 I agree with everything you've said. Cristobal wants a dual threat QB. And, it seems he prefers a running threat over a passing threat at QB. you mean being a FIRST ROUND PICK in the NFL, hell yeah why not ! ? That would be awesome.! Mario DID AWESOME with HERBERT ! An NFL 1st ROUND PICK! WAOO!
@@RR-tl3cz A lot of Oregon fans actually think he didn’t do a great job with Herbert.
@@stanleyfontaine25 he did horrible with Herbert. Herbert looked very mediocre at Oregon. Then as soon as he got to the NFL he looked completely different.
I still think TVD is legit I really believe the new run bad offense has messed him up he is a phenomenal pro style QB period a team that uses lots of spread will gladly take or try to get Tyler the world last year seen what he can do and I hate this so far this season isn't working like I said I still think he is for real but he has to be used in better situations/offense to succeed he will be great with the right offense hands down maybe the coaches will start doing things to use him better we will see any team would love to have TVD. GO Canes!!!
He has that pro demeanor
The OC needs to get TVD in to rhythm with play calling instead of run run pass. The play calling is so obvious. He is not made for this system. Wide receivers are pissed too.
First of all, Van Dyke IS STILL the starting QB at Miami. He is our great QB and is just getting in synch with a new scheme and NEW WRs that were dropping the ball and just now are beginning to get it right. Last game Ladson and B. Smith were more in synch with him. Progress is being done. Gattis and him and the WRs just all have to mesh and all have to practice more and execute better. Josh Gattis needs to improve his play design and incorporate some of what worked last year.
Two problems, Gattis was the biggest and Restrepo. Had eyes locked on him too much.
You hire coaches to help bring out the best in your players and that is what is not happening to this kid. As much as people talk shit about Riley and Grinch... SC's defense is much better than the other defenses they had. I say he should transfer
A good QB can play in any system.
Any ??, notice what my user name is !!.
Cristobol can not develop qbs if you’re a o line man go to him but that’s it
Actually, you did make one error, here ... Last year, Jake Garcia had beaten out Van Dyke
but Garcia went out with an injury. There were questions about who might be better.
However, the way Van Dyke performed last year, he was going to be the obvious starter.
*edit PS: never listen to Mel Kiper. TVD is not very mobile. He was never touted to be.*
Nobody remembers that.
@@srygler50 = Unfortunately, too. Because people keep talking about Van Dyke as though he was always the heir apparent.
@@Jaems_Scott he was a good qb last year but if you listen to the video his hs years he had 2 d1 receivers. Then he gets here and has 3 really good receivers last year. But now he doesn't and he's not accurate. He's not good at reading, he's a 1st option and drop down type of qb. He is very similar to Joe burrow in that regard, when you have better receivers it works.
*You are definitely correct* , when he mentioned Mel Kiper's name I laughed .
He was screwed. Never understood they entire hype around him.
Miami's receivers have the skillset of Tuscon Culinary Arts VoTech
Miami's O- line rivals Miami Dade Community College Intramural team
What went from hero to zero. New OC and head coach..
This is a 3 rd and 4th OC ..
I don't want to talk about it. I'm still traumatized from the game!😪
It’s pretty hard to win without a running back
Is it me or does he looks like Jason Witten?
It's you
As a die hard Canes fan since the early 90s... I've seen both ends of the spectrum. Utter domination and utter disappointment. Sadly things like this have become the new norm for my Hurricanes. Whether it be a key injury, a tough loss, a loss to a lower team, or players not playing to the level needed...ever since the talks of shutting down the football team after "the punishment" we endured from the NCAA, we just can't get right. There has been several times that we've looked really good for a stretch and then the above mentioned negatives happen. Our last championship came when I was 18...and I'd like nothing more than to see at least one more before I die. It's all about the U...go Canes!
FSU alumni here, I fucking hate Miami since I was capable of understanding hate, and I hate to see ya'l down like this. College football is better when UM FSU and UF are all scary.
Why did you get rid of Coker ??
@@WISHBONEL7 Coker didn't really do anything, he inherited a dominant team from Butch ...the title they won under Coker should really be credited to Butch.
@@bradenm3 I totally agree... football is just better when the FLA teams are playing good ball. Y'all will probably be back before we are sadly, we can't stop playing musical chairs with our head coaches
@@bizzlea887 I'm still struggling with firing Manny. Cristobal is definitely good but...idk just seemed hasty.
Now Miami is in a dilemma. Do they let their talented QB transfer, or do they try and figure out a way to get the offense clicking again?
As a Miami fan, we’re going to screw ourselves.
I never thought he was that good or he would’ve beat king out
Freshman never come in and just take a long time vets job. Trevor Lawrence is the only guy who has done that. Van Dyke is at worst an NFL backup
RPO didn't work at Oregon and it will not work at Miami either.
You mean pro style offense…. That’s what Miami is running and the rpo is what Miami ran last year with lashlee
need a luther burden video
Jake Garcia might be a better fit for the system. But TVD has more talent
He should stay might not have success at another school, they need to change him back to the scheme he was good at. Better workouts with Rbs
Garcia was King's backup but he broke his ankle so TVD was given the job. Garcia is a lot more mobile, and can throw on the run. Garcia's ceiling is a lot higher and he is better suited for this offense. In addition, TVD has a habit of staring down his receiver which was a disaster in the loss to Middle Tennessee.
no TVD was not given the job, he earned it ! TVD was better and more matured than Garcia at the time and TVD EARNED IT ! He is a great QB and he can turn this around, 1000% support to Tyler Van Dyke and you will see him shine again. BIG TIME.
@@RR-tl3cz I don't think TVD can run this offense. Check the Spring game in 2021 and see what Manny Díaz said about who was the backup for King last year. TVD and Garcia were neck and neck and Garcia was slightly ahead when he broke his ankle on a 50 yard run in the game that they were both auditioning for. They both looked good for Garcia was slightly better.
lol Garcia is ass. Youll see soon
it's obvious this Gattis guy is ruining TVD he ran the spread in offense IN high school as the majority of quarterbacks in football at any level today Gattis said he'd adapt to what the players on the roster do best that was obviously a lie Gattis is overrated as well as Cristobal they spent all that money only to regress a heisman hopeful as well as the rest of the team because as the quarterback goes so does the team as much as I love Miami for the sake of TVD I would love to see him transfer to SMU to realign with Lashlee and go pro and make Gattis look like a damn fool. the way it's going Rashada is gona decommit based on this stupid offense. not to boot we could see guys like Romello Brinson and Brashard Smith transfer because guys wanna showcase their skills not be forced under a dictator like regime to just run what they say sure Smith had a key drop. what about the silly plays Gattis has called?
They signed 3 4 star wide receivers just in 2021 but they have a bad WR squad?? Miami the only team with more talent than 90% of the other teams and is always overrated and always underperforms
Their receivers can’t seem to make big plays.
not saying they dont have talent but all i have heard the past few months is none have stepped up, should have clairifed
Talent and production are completely different.
Miami can't even beat Middle Tennessee! How Pathetic!! 😂😂😂 Kansas State might be a good "no where" place to stick him. Martinez will need to be replaced.
He should transfer and go back East. Maybe Syracuse, Maryland or even Delaware. Seem like he was a little overrated coming out of High school. I mean he’s from Connecticut! Not many great football players coming out of there. The competition probably wasn’t much
he competed against d1 recruits in every game playing in the New England Prep School league
What went wrong is that Van Dyke was overrated and Cristobal is still highly overrated.
If Garcia was healthy it was a tossed up btw him or vandyke
nah Garcia is ass. Van Dyke is at worst an NFL backup
Wrong....Garcia was the backup.....got hurt
Welp that just leaves Will Levis to be the next Zach Wilson. Anthony Richardson and Van Dyke have struggled too much.
Richardson was injured against Kentucky and USF he was great again against Tennessee
@@bossboy5970 he wasnt injured he played. Also he was good vs tenesee if he was great they would of won
@@bossboy5970 Richardson has NFL backup written all over him. Hes not a NFL starter. Van Dyke has a chance but hes also probably a backup.
Should of kept Diaz lol. He wouldn't of hired Josh freaking gattis lol.
Todd centaio video please
Go Noles.
Next vid Drake Maye UNC QB darkhorse Heisman candidate 💯
Cristobal run run pass offense stinks. Miami has good athletes at the skill position he refuses to get the ball too in space. The game has passed him by thats why the players quit on him.
Put all of the negative attention on TVD instead of the weak ass pathetic defense, seems logical...
Jalon Daniels
Tyler Van Martell
I hope you are a miami fan
But lost to the better qb at Florida State. Go Noles
Dude got to lax
I love seeing them lose , nasty fans, GO NOLES
He bought too much into the hype. Not his coaches. Him. I also don't think he's great at running the RPO
This video was prematurely made… he had one bad season and you make this bs . SMH. His career at Miami is not even over yet… smh. You could have waited till when he no longer in Miami or no longer in the NCAA…
Miami needs to hire Mike Leach!!!!!
Knew this was coming. 7/10 of these random QBs every year with hype get benched or just don’t live up at all
Fsu will take em..for a 3rd string💪🤣🤟🏼🤟🏼
Gambling ?
See O you Gerry Holt not G and you do not own the tracks those railroad tracks or the money stolen from me and Sam Walton made that deal with DE when she was only 15
He was never a first round prospect. That's the problem
