      Im at every home game. There should be no reason you are over throwing 6'5 guys on a 10 yard out route he literally did this 3 times Saturday on easy completions. SMU showed bad signs, not going through his reads and staring down his hot route. He worked much better in Lashleys offense because it was quick pick n pop ball if the hot route isnt there simply dump it off or throw away. He doesnt step into his throws anymore either. IDK what went wrong possibly let the hype get to him?? Who knows SMH

      As an Oregon fan i can say that Mario Cristobal is a great recruiter, very good at developing o-lines, & a solid overall HC. That said, he left a lot to be desired when it came to offensive explosiveness. He's very much married to a ground & pound run first concept. And there's not necessarily anyyhing wrong with that but many Duck fans will tell u that his QBs at Oregon struggled under him & his OC hires. Justin Herbert being the exception - was a QBb he inherited(& actually just kinda fell in the Ducks lap as he was a preferred walk on from a local high school) & most feel his production was stifled under Mario. After Herbert graduated, his successor(Tyler Shough) was very up & down in his only season as a starter with Oregon & ended up taking a backseat to transfer Anthony Brown by season's end. Brown would go on to start the next year & really struggle in the passing game(although his running ability did pay some dividends in Cristobal's offense).
      So i guess i'm not all that surprised that Miami's offense hasn't looked that good so far this season. But i do believe Cristobal will put a solid product on the field in Coral Gables. Just give it some time.

    • @kamala80
      @kamala80 2 года назад +5

      @@the503creepout7 I agree with everything you've said. Cristobal wants a dual threat QB. And, it seems he prefers a running threat over a passing threat at QB. Well, he inherited a guy with limited running ability who has an NFL arm in Van Dyke. The good coaches adapt their philosophy to their personnel. Hence why Saban is so good. Also, why Lane Kiffin can do more with less at Ole Miss and have success. Cristobal is starting to remind me a lot of Will Muschamp who is a stellar DC but as a head coach the guy is an offense killer. Cristobal better hope Miami stays in the ACC because if they move to the SEC or Big 10 he will be exposed more than he has already. And, with the transfer rules kids aren't going to sit around while a coach figures it out. Kids rightfully will leave for schools that suit their skills.

    I’ll bet he transfers out. When programs change coaches they often change or implement their own system instead of seeing what works with what’s on hand. New coaches and OC’s can improve or wreck a team in a heartbeat. That seems to be why they come and go so frequently. I could never figure out why they never adapt or try too adapt to the talent on hand.

    It has to be the new system. How could TVD look so hood last season and totally out of sync this year. His skill set must not mesh with Josh Gattis’ offense, and Gattis probably doesn’t want to modify the offense to fit his personnel.
    Perhaps TVD sees that Gattis may prefer Garcia to run his offense and it has hampered his confidence. Combine a bad scheme fit and confidence issues with himself and/or the staff, equals an early exit to the transfer portal for TVD. He has talent but needs the right fit schematically to excel.

    I still think TVD is legit I really believe the new run bad offense has messed him up he is a phenomenal pro style QB period a team that uses lots of spread will gladly take or try to get Tyler the world last year seen what he can do and I hate this so far this season isn't working like I said I still think he is for real but he has to be used in better situations/offense to succeed he will be great with the right offense hands down maybe the coaches will start doing things to use him better we will see any team would love to have TVD. First of all, Van Dyke IS STILL the starting QB at Miami. He is our great QB and is just getting in synch with a new scheme and NEW WRs that were dropping the ball and just now are beginning to get it right. Last game Ladson and B. Smith were more in synch with him. Progress is being done. Gattis and him and the WRs just all have to mesh and all have to practice more and execute better. Josh Gattis needs to improve his play design and incorporate some of what worked last year.

    As a die hard Canes fan since the early 90s... I've seen both ends of the spectrum. Utter domination and utter disappointment. Sadly things like this have become the new norm for my Hurricanes. Whether it be a key injury, a tough loss, a loss to a lower team, or players not playing to the level needed...ever since the talks of shutting down the football team after "the punishment" we endured from the NCAA, we just can't get right. There has been several times that we've looked really good for a stretch and then the above mentioned negatives happen. Our last championship came when I was 18...and I'd like nothing more than to see at least one more before I die. It's all about the U...go Canes!

    Garcia was King's backup but he broke his ankle so TVD was given the job. Garcia is a lot more mobile, and can throw on the run.
