Great helpful video. Girlfriend's escape just had a leak similar to this. Saved a lot of troubleshooting. Thanks!
Can confirm, we sent our Escape in for a recall and the dealer called us and said our vacuum pump was leaking. They were going to charge a stupid amount to fix this leak, I would assume if they're charging $632.40 to fix it, it would be a full new pump and then some because it only calls for 0.8 hours according to the service advisor. I think I will absorb the risk and fix the leak myself lol.
Wow, it’s such an easy fix 🤦🏻♂️ I hate they do that
Thank you for the insight just did my vacuum pump gasket today thank you again
Thank you for the detailed video! It was highly educational and helpful.
I would like to see a vid of the engine pressure washing it
Me too!
This was very helpful ❤
Always great videos. I never owned an Escape but still fun to watch! Hows the 7.3 Godzilla crown vic ? Waiting for episode 11.
Thank you. Crown Vic is coming along. Still not running but video should be up this week.
very detailed! great job
Great video, there was no pan on the transmission to replace any filters?
There is a pan, but from my research the filter is not in there, the trans would have to come apart.
👍
where was the leaking running down and showing on the bottom if the car?
I have a 2016 ford escape eco boost I have a leak somewhere it's not excessive however I would still like to fix the issue now the research I've done is I found out that it is a flawed design of a motor at which I talking about oil blow by when I first dove into I noticed oil coming out or around my throttle body and I'm like that don't make sense so I've installed an oil catch can in hopes of that fixing the problem it seemed like it did for awhile however it didn't I'm not noticing any slippage in the shifting of gears any comments on this would be greatly appreciated.
Is it engine oil or transmission that’s leaking? Best thing to do is pressure wash the engine and run it and start looking around.
@@L8R-HP it's engine oil and yes I did a pressure wash the problem is that on these motors everything is so compact that you can't see in a lot of area's unless you start taking things apart I know it's not coming from the bottom neither it has to be from somewhere in the middle and it has to be near the throttle body
My bad it's a 2017
@@traceyjones2010 are you sure it’s not coming front here Vacumme pump like it did in this video? Or maybe valve cover gasket?
@@L8R-HP I can say it is coming from under the drivers side
What kind of tool is he using to unscrew?
Did the transmission not slip anymore after car wash? Ty!
After the transmission flush it drove fine for about 100 miles and then we had to get the transmission rebuilt. Sometimes the flush helps if you do it in time. This time it didn’t work
How many bottles of transmission fluid did you use to complete flush?
12 bottles
@@L8R-HP thank you!!!! so much I have same problem and have to do flush on 2017 ford escape se 1.5
@@Charmedace1 the flush was actually a temporary fix on this one and only lasted 100 miles or so. Transmission had to be rebuilt 🤦🏻♂️
Hope a flush works for you! Good luck
@@L8R-HP thanks I hope this fix my problem 😅
Hey that noise is annoying
I know right. So annoying 🙄
Fords fluid is indeed black right out of the bottle
