    i have been using this pump for 2 months & i’m obsessed with it! i pump wayyy more with this than i ever could with my spectra & it’s super easy to clean. i also just wanted to point out that you’re actually supposed to open the flap over the pour spout when you’re putting the pump on because you can look down into it & see exactly where your nipple is to ensure that it’s in the right spot. (:

    I have both the Elvie Stride and regular Elvie pump. I haven't had good success with the Stride. I normally pump around 5-6 oz a session on the regular Elvie and my Motif pump, but with the Stride I would be lucky to get 2-3 oz. The suction is not great for me and I used the Stride including cleaning the parts by the book

    Which of these pumps that insurance fully covers would you recommend, My wife narrowed her search to:
    1- Spectra S1
    2- Elvie Stride
    3- Medela Max Flow
    4- Ardo Calypso
    She is a first time mom

      Spectra 1 for a great pump. Elvie stride if low pumping and a portable option

      Spectra s1 for sure and also its portable, but she need to make sure to get the correct flange or els it will effect her output of milk

    My last pregnancy I had issues with clog ducts until I switched to the hospital grade Medela pump.. I just rented it from the hospital. I felt the pull from my armpit to my nipple. And really felt like I was finally emptying properly. Any suggestions on a similar pump but wearable/portable as this will be used at home with 4 other young children and then at work as a nurse! TYA! Great review!

    Thank you so much for this. I’m on baby #2 and I’ve been researching and the main complaint on the Elvie is the suction, so you explaining max suction and the “feel” meant a lot. I had the Motif with first baby and my nipples definitely shed a lot and it hurt. Buying this through insurance, $135 for me, maybe it will work better for me!

    I have an Elvie stride (just given it from a friend - I was using Spectra with wearable Zomee cups - very similar to Legendary Milk); It seems like the suction decreases AS I pump - it starts off feeling strong, but after 10 mins to the end (I sometimes go 30 mins) I could turn my pump all the way up and it would never feel uncomfortable and I don't always get as much as I used to. When I use my sepctra, I could never turn it above a 5 or 6 or it would hurt. Do you think this is normal for Elvie? I am thinking I am doing something wrong, as it doesn't seem like as high of suction at the end.
    I use pumping spray typically to help with comfort - do you think pumping spray makes the duck valves "loose" and I lose suction because of that?

    I had used the the spectra gold with my first baby who is 8 months old now and just found out it pregnant again! I’m looking into wearable pumps so that I don’t have to be stuck sitting, I can still do things like change diapers etc. how comparable is the Willow or the Elvie stride to the spectra gold?

    I have been looking at this pump as well as the pumpables genie advanced. I feel like I’d prefer the cups over the flanges but the pumpables pump better. The pumpables flanges do intrigue me! I feel like I have sensitive skin. Can the two systems be combined to use the cups and pumpables pump? Or is there a better cup option to pair with the pumpables?
    Baby # 3 and I tried the medela with my first and hated it and had a difficult time overall. Second child also difficult. Did better with the spectra pump but had a lot of issues with mastitis and eventually called it quits. I’ve never produced much milk. Trying to find the right pump this time around but am not able to keep purchasing different pumps.
    Thank you for any advice you have to offer!!

      A lot of systems can be “hacked” to combine different motors with collectors, so if you have a certain combo in mind, just google the two things ie “pumpables pump ans elvie stride hack” and see what comes up! Sometimes you may have to buy cheap replacement parts on amazon to make it work, but lots of info out there if you want to try something else :-)

    • @itsmaichee
      @itsmaichee 2 года назад +2

      I’ve tried both and I prefer the Elvie. Elvie is a lot less bulky in my opinion and suctioning was a lot more gentle and works great! I get how much I typically would with a Medela!
      Plus it’s a lot quieter. I hated the freemie lol

    I had a traditional pump the last time I had a baby which is about 6-7 years ago, TMI I had an issue with my milk not going into the tube for collection on one of my sides- so it would pump and then leak out of the flange- do you think with the suction not being super strong that I may have the same issue?
    I like the idea that it’s more gentle and quiet as I am a realtor on the go. Thanks! Loved the video!

    So I’m expecting my second baby and I wasn’t successful with pumping with my first. I didn’t like that tugging ripping feeling and so this review appeals to me. However, I’m super worried that I should just go with the spectra model everyone else suggest because what if I need a higher suction? It always felt like my old one only ever got surface milk and nothing else so I still felt full. Online this pump says it get 270 but you said you average around 230 is that because of the tubes like you mentioned?

    I would love to know wether you think these cups get better milk output compared to other wearable cups if you pair them with another pump other than the Elvie one. Because it’s just tubing right so technically you could just buy the cup parts and then attach it to any breast pump. Am I right in thinking that?

    I watched another video where you were comparing the Stride with the original and some Willow options (don’t know which was the older video at the moment) and you mentioned that if you were planning on pumping frequently, you wouldn’t get the Stride. Is that still the case? I guess I need to go figure out which video was older.

      Hi mama! I used the Motif Luna with my first baby girl in 2021. Now I’m on baby #2 and I am looking for something different. That pump was way too tough for me. Granted, it had different modes but as a FTM it was just a LOT! I personally wish I knew about this one before because it would have been more down my alley based on the reviews. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding your skin example. "If you have fairer skin, your skin is more sensitive" are you implying that darker women don't have sensitive skin and have a higher pain tolerance? because that would imply a medical bias.

    • @NewLittleLife
      @NewLittleLife  2 года назад +3

      Not at all. Anyone can fall anywhere on the spectrum. Here’s an interesting study on the topic pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32726552/

    • @RuthlessSha
      @RuthlessSha 2 года назад +11

      Skin sensitivity may be best defined as self-reported intolerance to application of skincare products. It is commonly believed that individuals with darker skin are generally less sensitive, while those lighter skin are more sensitive. However, there is little objective data correlating sensitivity with skin type or with objective measures of sensitivity. (This is an opinion. I have darker skin & my skin is very sensitive. This was a bad choice in reference. & a very dumb statement overall) but that’s my opinion 😅

      I only meant that skin with very little melanin can be quite sensitive. Of course there is a wide range of sensations for everyone. No offence was intended and I have since tried to find a better way to phrase this consideration. Thanks for your feedback!
