    I like the way you build evidence, even getting more data after you've already proven the diagnosis. Any test will have false positives and false negatives, so protecting yourself with as much data as you can is wise. I've never seen that fuel pump access tool. Everybody I know uses a screwdriver and hammer, ha ha. Cool.

    Great Customer service. Helping instead of ripping them off... Seeing the screws at the battery posts, I just wanted to tell you about small metallic (maybe lead) shims that go on the post to build up the diameter and get the clamps to hold on better. The cost more than 2 screws, but they are available... Great Video and Logical process to get the car fixed. I have Subscribed...

    The main cause of a fuel pump fail seems to be old/blocked fuel filter. I would suggest this be replaced every time a fuel pump is replaced unless you are sure it is new. you can even cut open the old filter and examine the inside or a simple test of blowing through it to get an idea of the extent of the blockage. but if you are at all unsure, just replace it. I enjoy these videos exactly how you do them. Thx

    The true quick fix for those terminals you should use is having lead battery shims around they're hollow lead and fit over the terminal post for that extra space needed I usually have split 1 into 4 or more pieces since alot of times they fill more than needed its a way better look than screws and if you only use a piece of one you can put it in a way where its not visible. I run light service for AAA most of the issues I run into are no starts from bad connections. Personally I don't mind using the aftermarket red/black terminals there's no need to cut the wires when the set up is like this one all you need to do disconnect it at the nuts you mentioned and connect it that way since the aftermarket ones have that plate that uses 2 bolts put a bolt thru each cable terminal end and the negative cable just lay the terminal end flat under the plate in between the bolts. It might sound "incorrect" but being able to solve the customers issue right there is a better look and just the heads up of having a more proper fix available.

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117  4 года назад +1

      You're right about these type being able to bolt into the red n black connectors. I didnt thin of it initially but im sure i would have realized it before cutting any wires. I really need to find and carry those shims in stock since its a common issue i see. Thanks for the great info
