    Hey y'all - make sure you listen to your doctor too. It might come up later but it didn't at cardio - walking is fine. If I went jogging for 40, I would likely pass out. my brother almost died - remember that your have a different body. You might have some stuff going on - I had to get a full cardio clearance to just start walking at a brisk pace for an hour. Everyone is different. Don't go 0-60 immediately, what worked for Josh looks amazing and he's giving great advice, but just gotta throw in the doc part.

    • @Daphoid
      @Daphoid 3 месяца назад +22

      Also going 0-60 generally means that you won't stick with it, unless you are super super dedicated and focused. And if you're not, even if the internet would judge you (who cares?), take it slow. Do a little bit every day. Make little changes. I don't put sugar in my tea, I don't drink pop, I drink juice but diluted like 90/10 water to juice (I try it straight every now and then and it's like syrup), etc. I can certainly move more, and snack less - but it's all a journey, not a 0-60 instant transformation.

    • @Z3roSh0t
      @Z3roSh0t 3 месяца назад +3

      One other point, you CAN skip dedicated cardio, but to do that you need to take much shorter rests between sets of weights (like, 30-60sec max rest time between sets). Usually means going a bit lighter weight for more reps, but you don't hurt muscle growth by doing that. Just make sure you don't over-work a muscle group too much, and yes, please see a doctor about a full physical & cardio exam before you start any kind of intense exercise program, especially if you're starting significantly overweight or have a family history.

It's not hard when you have the right guidance and you dedicate yourself to the process. Since i first did the weight loss i've gone up to 200lbs and back down to 170lbs twice in the past three years. I'm currently back up to 190 and starting my cut again. If you workout but eat like garbage you won't lose weight. If you are starting out bigger, and the exercise is freaking you out. Literally don't work out for the first 6 months while you are dieting. You will shed all the blubber and after 6 months you will be craving the gym. That's how it worked for me at least. Thanks for the vid Josh.

      Yeah working out will help you retain muscle and strength while dieting. A couple hundred calories a day doesn’t mean much when a granola bar offsets that. But when you’re done cutting you end up with a strong healthy body rather than a malnourished one. I guess you could say that by doing weights your calorie deficit goes more towards fat loss rather than muscle loss, which is what basically everyone wants even if both strategies lose the “same” weight on the scale.

I follow a push, pull, hinge, squat, carry exercise regimen. Sprints for cardio are like magic for the body. I adjusted my macros over time until I ended up removing all carbs. No sugar, starch...no plants at all. I had several autoimmune conditions I was dealing with and I realized the lower my carbs got the better I felt. I've reversed or put into remission all of it. I eat fatty meat, eggs, butter, and plenty of high quality salt. I had severe sugar addiction as well. I have to keep the taste of sweet out of my mouth or I go right back to my old ways. I'm pretty strict with it, I don't have a choice side from the occasional carb up day, but now can only eat most of your recipes if I heavily edit them and just hope for the best. I know keto is more excessive than low carb or 'healthier' but considering so many keto cookbooks are boring and awful it'd be really nice to have some "But Healthier" recipes that would be easier to know carb count on.

    Excellent work Joshua! I'm 6'1" tall. At my heaviest (25 year ago) I was 268, Today, 9/27/24, I'm 209. I do not have the best diet but I have exercised every consecutive day of my life for over 10.5 years. I have not missed a day due to hangover, illness (including Covid) or vacations. My workout is not as extreme as yours, I'm 57 years old. I lift 5 days a week (30 to 40 minutes) and do some form of cardio 4 days a week. My max heart rate doesn't usually exceed 140 BPM, but I'm fine with that at my age. I hope you inspire others, and I have to say, barring a physical disability, it's not too late to start regardless of one's age. Although I don't have a true rest day, I lighten it up with shadow boxing or shadow mixed martial arts. Not an advertisement, but I use the workouts on beach body on demand. I pay an annual subscription for it, but I love being able to work out in my garage. Thanks Joshua!
