this was a classic when it came out and it still is. Bob absolutely smashed his performance in the video too
Well I never, Danbull in the wild! Full Agreement, RIP Hoskins, immortilised once more with a legendary track ;D
Listening 2024!!!
All of his emotional range, from anger to sadness, on show in under 4 minutes. I love this video.
How did he get bob in this??? I must know

Shoutout to those still listening in 2020 ✌️ Here is for 2022 and beyond thinking of every one of you. Thanks for the comments brothers and sisters.
Oh yeah everyday 😂
I only just remembered this song existed I feel shame it’s been too long since I last heard it
😛
Banging tune daily playthrough for me
N Shezz yes mate
I spent over a decade trying to locate this song. My buddy put it on my iPod shuffle (that I sold for drugs) back in like 2007. I was withdrawing from heroin the first time I heard it. It was love at first listen. Grateful to be 3 years clean on 9/11
keep it up!!
Yess dudde
Nice one mate, do your family proud and live your life to the fullest!
I listened to Cyprus hill 4 whilst doin my rip... Special place in my heart.. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Good for u man I rate that
2024! Were starting to get old now, but what an absolute banger this is. Missing all the tunes from late 90s through the Noughties.
Golden era and golden memories mate
I agree. Shite getting old but we had some great music experiences ❤
Man, I know it's been a little while, but still, R.I.P Bob Hoskins, such an amazing actor.
Phantomdirt im not even trolling i had no idea he was dead .....

Still on my playlist even after all these years, such a tune.

Rest in peace Bob. Imagine how huge he would be in this age. What a legend.💔
Yeah he was a very good actor
@@nitrosilvia I think he'd probably have had a heart attack if he saw London today.

So, the poem read near the beginning is called "The Cockney Amorist," by John Betjeman. It's about the difficulty of continuing to love life once the one you love is no longer in your life. Just thought that might enlighten some.
Thankyou
I think it's pretty obvious from listening to it what it's about 🙄
Okay, cool. Congrats on not being "some."
Classic tune..... never gets tired this
Timeless song brings back so many feels, R.I.P Bob Hoskins video still gives me the chills.

@@allie54774 Same lol. I remember being in 5th year, like 15/16 and Jamie came to play a show in Belfast. We had an exam the next day but all of us got drunk and went to see it. I completely shanked that exam but it was worth it. Such a great night.
2024 still listening to the classic
Don't let this die.
Good music never dies.
"When I fall, no one catch me, alone lonely I'll overdose slowly, get scared, I'll scream and shout" lyrical master class from Jamie T
This tune still gives me shivers, Jamie T is such a talented story teller - but how grim and gritty. RIP Bob Hoskins too, adds so much emotion to the music video
+Adam Baker If you think this is a great story, you should listen to Plan B - Suzanne. That is a really grim one.

Just heard this for the first time. Proper tugging at the heart strings and Bob Hoskins got me crying. Respect To Bob and Jamie!
You were lucky to come across it! I’ve been randomly coming back for 15+ years to listen, was 17 year old when it first came out, now 33 :-( Rip Bob Hoskins!

didn't realize how good life was then, what i would do go back, even for a day.
And Bob Hoskins what an absolute legend, cant believe hes been gone 9 years.

Still listening 2022 🙌
I still say this is the most beautiful piece of work Bob Hoskins has done. The emotional change in his face as he draws closer to his daughter's memorial is heartbreaking and brilliant!
This and perhaps the old Bt adverts.
Troy Reinagle You clearly haven't the Super Mario Bros. film then.
Dear you me, you kids. Troy don't even pretend that you have seen "Mona Lisa", "The Long Good Friday" or "Twenty Four Seven", because if you had you would never had made such a daft comment. Now run along you cheeky scamp!
Bob Hoskins gave evidence at John binding trial proper 1 of ur own londoner and no one's commented bout the other old London boy with Bob in the video itspoxy loxy
this is great but The Long Good Friday is his best performance by a country mile, Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Mona Lisa are also fantastic performances, RIP Bob x
Thank you Bob Hoskins. Rest in peace, brother. Among your many great performances, I watched this only on Monday and was reminded of your brilliance. That brilliance will live on forever.
Whenever I hear this song I think of Bob and I also think about my role as a father. Thanks for the heads up Jamie T. Ian from Hounslow.

I could listen to the poetry at 0:25 (The Cockney Amorist) all day. Its a fantastic usage of it.
The last 10 seconds of this video carry the most excruciating emotions and powerful acting I have seen.
Jaime T is mint. R.I.P Bob, thanx for blowing my mind with 'Who framed Rodger Rabbit?' when I was eight.
RIP Bob, not heard this for about 6 years. love it.
This is one of those songs for which I can recall the moment I heard it for the first time.
I’d never heard of Jamie T and being 60 until I played this song. Which was Because I saw Bob Hoskins and it reminded me of The Long Good Friday film which was so good , awesome but sad song have subscribed to his music now !!
Heard this song years ago while visiting London from Canada...still love it.
@jamietmusic_Doing great...ty. Hope you're well
Love this track and always will! reminds me of my pal who passed away about 9 years ago, always used to pre drink and smoke a bit of weed listening to this before we went and got steaming! Good memories 😎😀 RIP jack
Props to Bob, wonderful performance of emotion, love the song too of course but gotta pay tribute to this legend as well
Bloody tune !!!!!!! October 2022
Still slaps 2023!!
Maybe it's because I first saw this video the evening of the day my Dad died, but Bob Hoskins' face at the end always makes me blink back tears. Such a fine actor.
2023 still going strong and still hits the heart strong
Love this song also makes me a little sad that bob is not with us anymore
I can't believe I just discovered this one after many years. What a tune.
Jamie T is one of my favourite British artist, it's a shame we don't seem to hear much from him nowadays, but got to give it to him.. Every release is a gem.
Don’t know if you’ll see this but thought this comment might bring u back 🤝
Being out in Leeds on Saturday and seeing his name in lights outside the academy lead me to this song again. Brings back class memories.
Hes still out there, we just need to look!

Sheila goes out with her mate Stella
It gets poured all over her fella
'Cause she says, man, he ain't no better
Than the next man kicking up fuss
Drunk, she stumbles down by a river
Screams calling London (London!)
None of us heard her coming
I guess the carpet weren't rolled out
[Sample: John Betjeman]
Oh, when my love, my darling, you've left me here alone
I'll walk the streets of London which once seemed all our own
The vast suburban churches, together we have found
The ones which smelt of gaslight, the ones in incense drowned
[Verse 1]
Her lingo went from the Cockney to the Gringo
Anytime she sing a song, the other girls sing along
And tell all the fellas that the lady is single
Fickle way to tickle on my young man's ting
She's up for doing what she like, any day more like the night
She drowned, drunk sorrows that she stole, bought, borrowed
She didn't like fights but at the same time understood
Fellas will be fellas 'til the end of time

He was known as Smack Jack the Crackerman
In life he was dealt some shit hands

And man, Lisa had a baby with Sam
And now Jack's on his own man
Well done, Jack, glug down that cider

'Cause it turned out the last dance killed the pied piper.
