You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for a video on this place to pop up on my home page, I live in Columbus and drive by this place all the time, brings back so many memories
The place was prestine and it didn't have that much vandalism as the good gents at Free4all also dropped a stunning video to the place. Unfortunately there was breaking news yesterday that a portion of fort rapids was set on fire. Seeing the damage the following morning was absolutely sad. The place was perfect and it's clear that some people destroy places for fun. The main building has been damaged badly 😢
Yeah no it wasnt perfect and it might not of been set by people there was still working heat, ac, water electric, gas in some rooms so those definitely could've been a factor considering some lights were still on
I always love seeing the insides of abandoned waterparks and theme parks. So fascinating. We have a place kind of like this near me (and no, it's not Great Wolf) and it's definitely showing its age. I hope it ends up getting an overhaul instead of becoming abandoned.
@MensaGiraffe no, Watermania. It's actually a city-run rec centre but it's made to feel like a water park with a huge wave pool, waterslides, and a kids splash/slide/playground area, complete with a cutesy theme park-esque logo on the front of the building. I have a lot of fond memories going there growing up as I always loved swimming.
I was part of a summer childcare program and for our big trip before school started we would go on a day trip to Fort Rapids. This was probably around 2012-2014. We never went to the restaurant or rooms, but seeing the water park and lobby is so surreal. I still have vivid memories of the racing slides and going backwards down blackout (I think that's the name of the toilet bowl slide?) with my twin brother. What I'd give to relive it again or see it restored to its former glory.
Good Work Brother loved your background story of how you and esmae met and your video went viral of 4M views. The abandoned rides you did with your friends were also fun to watch. Nice work as always 👍
I've seen other videos exploring this place..but you guys were going in places, on slides and other stuff that they were too scared to do. Great editing of old footage too. This is what I wanted to see!
This place is very beautiful. I'm happy for you that you met at a abandoned waterpark and now you there at a another one and be together as a couple. I'm sorry to see that there was a fire a few days ago😮. A total waste. I hate it that some people destroy abandoned places😠.Thanks for sharing this video and stay safe out there 😊
This is a very sad sad situation I remember going there when I was a kid and it was fabulous I can't imagine what it looks like today but I'm seeing this video now and it's it brings tears to my eyes I remember going through the lobby in and eating at the buffet and being there with my family and I really want to just cry who in the heck would let this happen to a amazing place this thing go
Great exploration! I’ve never made it into the tower. I couldn’t find a way in. I know some people who did tho. Unfortunately this place caught fire recently. Glad I was able to explore the section, before it got screwed up.
Thanks for watching. Yeah I wrapped the video with the news story of the fire. It’s too bad, and it happened only a few days after a sale was set to take place.
Man this is so crazy to see.. I use to go here all the time as a kid. I never once thought I’d see the pools empty or those massive glass windows by the slides busted out. I remember playing on the playgrounds and running up all those stairs 100 times to the top to go down the slides (only the light ones though, I was terrified of the dark ones and refused to go down them)😆 Also hearing about the fire at the end is devastating, I cannot believe the hotel portion burned so badly. I was here on opening day in 2006 and the place was absolutely mind blowing to me as a 7 year old kid. I’ll never forget that experience or all the good times I’ve had here.
I always wanted to go here but never got the chance to I even thought about exploring it but then the fire happened and now there will be people investigating it. Also pretty cool video I haven’t seen one where they go on the top floor. I just feel bad for the place because it doesn’t deserve all this.
This place looks spectacular! It's a shame the original owner didn't put the time or money into it (which is so wierd considering how long it had been open) :/ Ig they were getting tired of maintaining the place.
The saddest part about the whole thing is you don’t know that the developers point of you either you don’t know what happened to him. You know if he got screwed in the deal and he invested a ton of money and the city just shut him down you know he bought the place probably with a lot of violations and it’s sadto see such a great place go to waste
then it caught on fire last week. Glad you got there when you did.

It sadly wasn’t perfect it had 75 health violations in a year employees didnt wash their hands then used their hands at the seafood buffet 🤮

It's sad that someone had to set this place on fire.
real
LFG!!
Hey I went there…😭 I have distinct memories of going there and never remembering where I went, this is bringing back so much
The blue slide was so bright because you guys were outside during that time... those slides went straight out the side of the building and back in.

It’s really a shame…
Sad that not too long ago. The Hotel part burned down.
Honestly excited about this one. Recently drove past it irl, wished I had went when it was open.
I remember going there several times had several racing banquets in it mainly on the top floor where you guys were at

I went there a few times once with my uncle once with my mom and a friend and another time with the church really sucks that it got burned down
The fire was just days ago hope someone can bring life to something this good
Went there many times with the family on vacations.. my mother's side lived in Ohio.. that's crazy to see it in this condition now...
It's crazy how quickly things can change, right? Thanks for watching

Why is this so sad
Hi, I'm new to the channel & I have a question, please. Why is only one of your faces blurred? You can tell me to eff off if it's none of my biz.
where is this omfg i need to drive through a place like that
No one's exploring in ukrane. Good bombed out buildings to go into 😢
Was the main building damaged in the recent fire??
The hotel but not the park
@ ok thank you. My friends and I were potentially planning a visit but obviously wouldn’t want to go there just to find all of it burnt down lol
@ yeah. But ig you could go to the water park but now we know it’s flammable but if your brave
So is the resort going back in business for real?
It coughs on fire. If it does get rebuilt maybe, but the fire was HUGE
@@lav_4_lif3for it to be rebuilt, they would have to demolish it and rebuild it, since the smoke and time damaged the structures
not trying to be insulting genuinely curious, why do you block out your face but not your girlfriends?
