Have you ever came to the Molalla river recreational corridor. Its very beautiful. There is some gold I go up there every year prospecting but I'm just learning.i do know the corridor like the back of my hand as I grew up here on the Molalla river watershed I'd love to show ya around come summer.
Went there about 3 times. Never did any good test panning. Place has been so picked out. looked like fun though. Summer here is great, and makes this hobby more fun.
Great video. That is an incredible area with awesome views. What a day, amazing weather and the family with you plus some nice gold on top. See that is why I wear a wet suit.Brrrrr. Thanks for sharing this fun adventure.😎👍👍👌👌⛏⛏
My parents and grandparents dragged us kids all over the PNW and Gorge into Eastern and Southern Oregon. I still find myself out in the toolies thinking HEY, I know this place! There's still many more I hope to rediscover.
No matter what you do or where you go people in general are stupid and irresponsible. Their like overgrown spoiled brats leaving their crp for everyone else to clean up after them.
I am attempting to make my wife a ring this is my first year I have found flakes. Can not wait to find a piece of rolled gold or a picker! I’m headed to quartz creek as we speak
New sub here from over in the UK…. We (A&T Adventures) are due over to the north west US in August covid pending. We plan a road trip from Seattle to Yellowstone returning via Oregon panning along the way and hoping to make a wicked golden road trip video/ videos. You vids will be epic to give is An idea where to stop and visit. Thank you for sharing Keep the adventures alive A&T
There is a section of Quartzville Creek that is located just above Green Peter Reservoir that is open to recreational gold prospecting. It starts at the Rocky Top Bridge and goes up to Galena Creek. Within this stretch of Quartzville Creek are the Dogwood and Yellowbottom Recreation sites.
Good episode. Cant wait for warmer weather. Oregon winter is killin me. I'm probably headed to Brice on a GPAA claim Wensday...only sunny day this week probably unless I head WAY south.
Yeah I’m really looking forward to the nice weather it definitely affects how much we can get out there to make content. Snow is one thing but torrential rain it’s very bad on all the film equipment LOL
Iv lived here in sweethome Lebanon my whole life, quartzite is picked CLEAN unless you reallly work for it and dive around you won’t get much. All the good gold that’s left is above high water and on on claims way up stream
I was surprised with how much I actually found lol I had never gone there because it’s so picked over. But there are still cracks to break! Probably the only place to find them in the public area
Yeah I had gone down there before because I knew it had been picked over so much. I’m honestly surprised with how much I found but whenever you find a cracked it hasn’t been broken open there’s a good chance you might find some treasures!
Great times, great video. That was one of the first spots I ever tried too. Never did well there. Later I joined the Bohemia Miners and learned a lot ad did ok on some of there 10 claims. Best $20 a year I ever invested! If you are From around Lane county it's well worth it. Been prospecting everywhere within 100 or so miles of here for the last decade. The best spots I know are on the S. Umpqua. I don't get out as much, or have the equipment I used to, but if you want to know some productive spots hit me up.
Yeah I thought about joining their Club I'm part of Republic mining right now and I'm going to be going and checking out some of their new claims on the Lewis. I love the Umpqua but it's five and a half hours away LOL I live west of Portland. I now call it Gotham City. I definitely need to make it down to that area and it would be great to meet up with some people. Thanks for watching! It was a tough year to get out and do stuff
I've enjoyed watching your wholesome adventures for the last quite a few months. There is a place in Eastern Montana that I think you would enjoy if you can make it out next year with Chris Scheckla. Keep makin em!!
PNW Prospecting so do I. I didn’t get to pan much my last trip. Maybe a collab video would be a good idea? I can do one for my RV and you can do another mining video!
Find me on Facebook under Gannon Smith and shoot me a friend request I can let you know the areas that I'm going to. I'm getting ready to switch to a new Locksmith Company in the next couple of weeks so it may be at least a few weeks until I can go out again I've been doing some production at home because of it. I have probably around 60 gallon of black sand at home that needs ran again LOL
If you are working those banks do you ever wash out the moss from those rocks? The old timers didn't use it in their sluiceboxes for no reason. But at the same time don't just go tearing up all the moss you can find.
Why no sluice this time bud? Looked like ya found some nice color...more than I thought you’d find at a well used public site! Does you wifey prospect too or just go along for the ride?
I got more because i didn’t use a sluice! When cracking bedrock you usually won’t have enough dirt to warrant a sluice. If I was going to attack the gravel bar I would bust out the sluice! She does both!
Ok cool ,i just had too ask because im almost certain i pulled a chunk off of that exact same boulder with my son but we have yet too crush it.we are new and are not sure what color even looks like in person yet lol.@@pnwprospecting
Hey loving videos. I prospect all round Oregon i live in boring so if you ever want to bring a subscriber with you on a trip let me know me and my daughter would love it
As much as I love this. This place used to be so much nicer when nobody went there and you didn't have to pay to be there and they didn't cut up most of the trees up there in all the camping spots. Really makes me sad
Nice video pal, my childhood camping adventures from the 70’s were almost all up there. Does my heart good seeing a father take his kids up there!
it is always a blessing to me to see afamilily enjoying a time together
My favorite place to fish

Where to find Gold near Portland Oregon! (Location Revealed!)

Went there about 3 times. Never did any good test panning. Place has been so picked out. looked like fun though. Summer here is great, and makes this hobby more fun.
Don’t mess around with the gravels look for cracks that you can split open with a chisel or a prybar
Great video. That is an incredible area with awesome views. What a day, amazing weather and the family with you plus some nice gold on top. See that is why I wear a wet suit.Brrrrr. Thanks for sharing this fun adventure.😎👍👍👌👌⛏⛏
It was right there at the midpoint were a wet suit would be too much but the water was still just a little chilly LOL
@@pnwprospecting You can still get hypothermia in the sunny carribean. Water just draws the heat out of you. And the colder it is.......
My parents and grandparents dragged us kids all over the PNW and Gorge into Eastern and Southern Oregon. I still find myself out in the toolies thinking HEY, I know this place! There's still many more I hope to rediscover.
Now I’m wondering what happened to that button up? I really liked that one lol
Great video! I love Quartz creek and I love panning there. I just wish people would pick up their garbage!
Agreed
Honestly. I wish they wouldn't allow camping up there. People are so trashy.
No matter what you do or where you go people in general are stupid and irresponsible. Their like overgrown spoiled brats leaving their crp for everyone else to clean up after them.
That was soooo much fun and the gold definitely adds a huge bonus to the trip!
It was a so fun to go with you!
Thank you for sharing your adventures
Thank you for watching!
I've pulled some good gold out of Quartzville the hight benches still got some good value. Got a good drift mine going on on one of the GPAA claims.😁
Awesome! It’s a fun place for sure!
Back in the 90's, we found about 7 prospect/mines up past dry gulch. Most collapsed/flooded at entrance. Fun to explore/find history.
I love Quartzville!! Thats my happy place!!
If I find gold it's a perk if I don't find gold that's ok too, I always just enjoy the beauty and always come hime with rocks
Yellowbottom Creek feeding into Quatzville Creek. Beautiful country! Were you looking for pyrite on Yellowbottom or?
Not pyrite just wanted to crevice for gold!
I am attempting to make my wife a ring this is my first year I have found flakes. Can not wait to find a piece of rolled gold or a picker! I’m headed to quartz creek as we speak
Hope you had a great trip
Right on
Awesome fun good job 👍
Professionally done. Good job.
Thank you!
Good Spots, nice Gold. Happy to see you finding gold. Greetings Goldjunge Tom
I’ve been glad to see you out getting old as well my friend! I hope you and your family are well and healthy over there!

That sounds fun!
Looks like a enjoying time for a couple of days
Been there once very cool place. I will go back again.
Same here! But there’s still so many other areas to go explore!
What a sweet spot full of cracks and nooks to do some gold sniping in... HH and keep making time for yourself and the family.
Definitely a cool place!
Good job man, not to shabby of a day. See you on the next one.
Great video. Thanks for taking us along on another adventure, my fellow PNW RUclipsr!
Thanks it’s a great place to take the family!
I pan this creek 35years ago, there was/is claims on the creek I was armed at the time.
This lower in the public area by the campground
@@pnwprospecting DidYou check for claims before your treasure hunting. Being shot at isn’t fun by anyone.
Not only are there signs but it’s well post it online the boundaries

Yeah Chris and I have been talking about coming up there together! He did pretty well on his trip up there.
Great video. I've been wanting to try out Quartzville for a while now.
It’s worth it! Go during the week and parking is a lot better!
The last spot you were at has lots of good gold if you know where to dig I've got a few pickers there as well
Yeah I need to go check out the area since it’s all been burned up
@@pnwprospecting I get color in every pan
Another great video! I’m a little surprised the gate was closed though. Guess you’ll just have to go back!

I did test the moss but I had a feeling I would find the best gold in the cracks and crevices
Nice Family weekend!!
Near Detroit lake Oregon.
Try the Impqua or better yet Cow creek
I have!
I’m out in Sweet Home! I would love to prospect (permission) with someone this year. I have a white’s treasurepro detector & pinpointer.
I think you can go without any special permission required along the quartzville recreational panning area there. Google it up if you are unfamiliar.
Good advice!

A break from prospecting? Never heard of it!😅 We don't have enough content coming out of the pnw, keep it up, buddy!!
Ot has been crazy since the fires but more content coming put soon. Just did some testing of a new magnet from Coulter that I'm about to put out!
Yum
