    CRV calipers but with CL9 Accord Euro pads... Will CL9 Accord Euro calipers work?

    • @teamaxlestands
      @teamaxlestands  3 года назад +1

      No the CL9 calipers have different mounts so you cant use them. They run different pads to the CRV too, but the CL9 ones fit the mini rotors better (crv ones overhang)>

    Is extended wheel stud recommend and does the stock heat shield fit as well?

    • @teamaxlestands
      @teamaxlestands  2 года назад +1

      I don't believe you will need extended wheel studs - the new rotors are the same thickness as the standard ones so you will still get the same amount of thread in the wheel nut. My stock heat shields fitted with some slight bending. I've seen some people cutting/grinding bits off but this is not required for the RD1 CRV calipers. Cheers

    Nice but you stated what type of rotor but never stated what type of brake calipers that important to who wish to do this upgrade and also the type of disc pads to use. You've got to be more detailed. 😎

      yeah sorry mate, hopeless at thinking of those things while filming. I'd listed them in the description of the video and I'll try and be specific in future.

    what type of brake booster and master cylinder do you use for this setup?

    • @teamaxlestands
      @teamaxlestands  2 года назад +3

      I'm using a 1inch MC and booster from a dc2/dc4 integra - I think first gen crv might also be an option?

      Does it matter if its abs or no?

    • @teamaxlestands
      @teamaxlestands  Год назад +1

      I'm pretty sure mine is abs and I think they are identical. I remember reading that possibly the booster was bigger on the abs model but it was very close if not the same as the eg one

    Can I use a spindle off a 98 ex model to do this upgrade?

    • @teamaxlestands
      @teamaxlestands  2 года назад +1

      Just has a quick look and they are the 10.2" rotors (260mm) on the ex so yeah they are the right ones for this conversion

    what is the minimum wheels to not touch the caliper

    • @teamaxlestands
      @teamaxlestands  Год назад

      some 15 inch fit and some don't - It just depends on the barrels they use. My 15x7s +35 offet fit but
      ENKEI RPF1 in the same spec dont. So unfortunately there is no black and white answer.

      @@teamaxlestandsI can confirm this statement. I tried this conversation on my crx and the crv calipers were about 1/2” too big!

    What year ex knuckles ?

    • @teamaxlestands
      @teamaxlestands  2 года назад

      hmm mine were from a 97 from memory. But its not so much about the year its about the size of the rotors/knuckles. You want the ones with the bigger 260mm rotors. I believe some EG's have the same knuckles and DC2 integras as well

    What year calipers did you use? How did you manage to do this for 150?

    • @teamaxlestands
      @teamaxlestands  2 года назад +1

      I use rd1 crv calipers (97 to 01). To do it for 150... I used pick a part calipers which I got for $50, rotors which I got for $60 and pads which I got for $40. I also used the spacer rings in the video but most people don't run them and don't have issues. Stops great and with doing.

    • @niall7546
      @niall7546 2 года назад +1

      @@teamaxlestands Thanks for that. Im in Sydney and im struggling to find calipers under 200...I like the spacer rings, you get shuddering on hard breaking without them.

    • @teamaxlestands
      @teamaxlestands  2 года назад +1

      @@niall7546 oh that sucks, they are very easy to come by here in Melbourne. All the wreckers have a few RD1s and no one seems to be really getting the calipers. I just went to the cheapest pick yourself wrecker and pulled them off, they needed a bit of a clean but work fine. Good luck on the hunt for them.

      these are 15x7 +35 but if doing this brake upgrade be careful I've heard that some wheels like 15x7 +35 Enkei RPF1's do not clear the calipers in this setup.

    • @teamaxlestands

      Yeah i did that while the engine was out. 1inch master and appropriate booster. I know some people are running this setup with a stock MC but you would have a spongy pedal.
