I've only ever raced on a simulator but starting from drifting and moving into GT and Formula style racing really helped me with the ability to quickly feel how the vehicles react to weight transitions and being precise on throttle inputs.

it's honestly really wild to see the perspective of someone diving into the world of drifting head first knowing nothing, as someone whose been into drifting for years and I myself also own a jzx for drifting a jzx90 cresta specifically.
also if these videos are from this week you picked probably the busiest time of the year to go hahaha HAVE FUN AT MATSURI!!!!
hopefully you keep on doing some drifting even after this and go back to japan again for matsuri!
It’s such an interesting world I knew nothing about. Of course there are some parallels to the racing world, but I was shocked how much there was to learn on and off track!
I filmed this back in July (these videos take me ages to edit 😂), but would love to do a Matsuri next year.
@@CameronDasRacing it really is a lot different but I think it also helps a lot because you're pushing yourself to do things you normally try to avoid but by doing them you get an even broader understanding what what causes it, you get experience on both extremes.
and I would definitely recommend going to a matsuri if you stay interested in drifting. I have yet to go to one but from friends that have gone its just non stop driving where the majority of people are all in jzx's making it an even playing field and non stop progression of skill. I would also recommend going a week ahead of matsuri though to give yourself time to settle in and get reacclimated with the car while the tracks are still mostly empty before actual matsuri

Ya I thought the same initially, but basically everyone runs stock handbrakes at Ebisu because they are drum and super powerful. Once I learned how to pump it, it got way more effective.
