While I feel like Dilo can still use some changes, to me, it's still a direct improvement over Legacy Dilo in all aspects. Legacy's Dilo was way too much like a Raptor that couldn't jump with virtually the same health and weight. In Evrima, it feels more like how Dilo should feel, i.e. still on the smaller side of carnivores, but much bigger and more imposing than a Raptor. It can take a hit or two without imploding like the old one did, and it feels and sounds heavy. I also like the decision of making it faster but less agile than the Raptor. It adds to it feeling unique and different from Omni, on top of being a smart balancing decision that avoids the issue of Dilo getting ran down and mauled by them, while the Raptors can still out-maneuver and get away if chased. I still feel like it can use something more in its kit. I've always liked that one idea of making it so Dilo can only get extra clone stacks if it bites its target again. It would force it to be more active in hunts, rather than just stepping back, pulling out a gun and shooting you until you're dead.
I wish they would make adult Dilos around the size of the adult fossils(23 ft), but it’s kinda hard to tell size from video, but adult cero, dilo, and herra should all be around the same length

I disagree about dilo venom. Go get bitten by a black widow or a rattlesnake and just because you can fight off the hallucinations doesn’t mean you’re not affected by the venom. You’re still affected by venom. The hallucinations are just a creative way to express that without it just being a DoT. Your mistake was being bitten enough times to get to that point. I agree with the first part. If they were used as distractions to wear the target down and create openings, then that would be ideal. The speed wouldn't then be as much of a problem because the actual dilo would still have to make itself vulnerable to do damage

i took out a pack of 5 raptors as 1 dilo just outside south plains on a cliff by the semi fair drinking spot for dinos. but i absolutely destroyed them
I don't mean this disrespectfully but the dilo you were used to was literally the most overpowered animal in Legacy for its size. It would be a major red flag for the game (I know, add it to the pile) if Evrima's dilo was anything CLOSE to Legacy dilo.
@@sku4d_942 A leopard is lethal in the night. Wait, I've never really played Dilophosaurus much. So you can actually send more hallucinations after a creature you've envenomated? How do you do that?
Different creatures fill hunger at different rates in legacy, juvi sucho takes about 10 seconds to fill up to full as a juvi 🤣 some things take absurdly long though…
It's one of your alt attacks. So if you haven't changed what key they're bound to, it'll be left control+ right or left click(can't remember which, I haven't had the default keybinds in a very long time)
Just returning after a bit of a hiatus, is there a new button to tear into a corpse for organs now? I thought you just had to LMB/Bite them but there looks to be a new animation that plays.
Despite it being basically a meme my favorite creature is Hypsilophodon. It's pretty, you can spit on people, it's fast, and from what I read it will be able to climb things too.
I don't like hunting as a solo dilo because they climb on rocks and it's kinda GG, once I get a cerato on red but I got killed bc he got on a rock and started screaming and a raptor came and target me, somehow I couldn't attack because of a bug but what I mean is that I want venom works like troodon idk, rocks and water as a counter is kinda dumb ngl
@@dinometta maybe is already fixed idk, but what I know is that rocks give them at least a good amount of time to call for help and that's what usually got me in bad situations
@@lolero72campos19 yeah the hallucinations seem to spawn on the closest flat surface to their target. So it'll kill herras on branches, tenos on logs, and things on most rocks
This and improving its venom (and troodon’s) a little more so it’s more fun to play both with and against while also not being op, this version is kinda too strong as you just stand back and right click after they’re envenomated.

@@ThePatchedDragon no, it's just an event for Halloween. They're only happening on the horde test and only in controlled bursts when a developer gets online to start the infection spread.
I’m sorry there’s literal zombies in the isle right now? I thought it was just what people were calling the hordes of ceras- when did this happen?! 😂 Edit: for context I only just now saw zombies MENTIONED in an announcement, but there was no “we’re adding zombies into the isle now!!” Announcement of any kind that I can find 😅
I just heard the devs re-implemented the clones attacking when nearby since there were sitll bugs with them not spawning near edges and what not. I really hope they continue with making aerial and aquatic hallucinations or reworking the purpose of the venom to encourage more fake-outs to allow you to get bites in through confusion rather than relying on outright damage to the target. I get the point of needing something to pressure the target(in this case, damage), but I definitely think it's strayed from the purpose of hallucinations by doing it this way. It stings all the more they gave the fog to Troodon so Dilo doesn't feel as unique atm. Also meant to ask, what mutations did you go with? :O
I agree. I really just wish the dilo could see its own clones, they do minimal damage if any, and work best to encourage the target to waste stamina and create openings for the real dilo to attack
You are playing on a dilo like an absolute pro. howether i dont feel like they are a powerfull species at all. most times when i meet dilo i think - oh, a free kill. they are really fragile and require a lot skill to play. And to kill most dinosaurs on it is a hastle, you need, like, 3 hours dodging and running in circles for it to work, a good player wont give it to you. the game still the same and in all my encounters i killed a few dosens of dillo on a raptor and they killed me once.
I feel like there's a few things on them that need to be adjusted, but you're right, most dilo players struggle with it(see my previous dilo video where I was essentially a free meal every time I got spotted haha)
Yes! That's a new feature in horde test, egg gestation before nesting, so if you kill a player that has been gestating eggs, you can pull them out of the corpse and eat them!
it was a halloween event on the hordetest, players were infected and set out into the world to cause destruction. infected players that bit other players also became infected and unable to attack one another, as wel as sharing in-game local text chat regardless of species, and all zombies regardless of species need to eat meat to stay alive but eventually rot away.
True tbh, I agree. I play PoT and it’s annoying seeing people have like 6 fights right as a creature is just released and saying it’s op. Let people get good with it and have real fights on a real server that doesn’t plan fights.
venom dilo only can spawn 3 hallucinations right? how u can kill carno by leaveing him alone ._. and dilo can give venom by hitting tails? need better guide for this dino, try this dino but alwasy die so easy
You can spawn 3 before running out of charges. Each charge returns after about 20 seconds, 1 at a time, for a total of 60 seconds wait for all three. The venom timer lasts about 3 minutes on a carno before it needs to be refreshed, so you can send 9-12 clones at it before it wears off, provided you are close enough to keep sending them. And since each clone does your normal bite force with of damage(I believe), you're throwing over 1k damage at them. Add in the bites it takes to envenomate initially and a carno is a fairly dead carno, especially if it takes damage from any other source as it only has 200-300 HP to spare not counting the clone hits. Reapplying venom is always a good idea just to seal the deal, since if it wears off the target won't be as vulnerable anymore, but yeah. It's applied through base tail -head bites. Hitting the head applies venom easier, while hitting the base of the tail or body requires more bites overall to get them to the purple stage.
Btw is it just me on on day time u cant see the blood track? I mean i can see it perfectly if i turn of nv on the night but on the day i cant tell difference between that green and red and is so damn hard to follow a track of blood on this game, more than it should be because animals and im pretty sure dinosaurs, used to have really good senses like nowadays animals, that would make the game and hunting way more inmersive

The Devs are making the weather and night dark for the NV, Dondi showed it on his stream
@@alexburke1310
Nah fr. When I first got on evirma (live branch) after a few months, my jaw dropped to the floor seeing the new nv. I CAN ACTUALLY SEE (mostly). And it doesnt just look like a godawful grainy camera filter is being layered over it. Really love the light outlines on everything too. They could stand to be a little bit clearer (often seems faded) and brighter, but other than that it works well and has a nice feel.
I really gave up hope for nv before this.
A lot of people underestimate the Dillo, that`s the last thing they do :)
@@GameWithTonyYT That's the truth! Man I got bit by one as a pachy yesterday and you can bet I was booking it to the water! I was already hurt from fighting an aggro teno and then being jumped by a herra! I wasn't going to risk the clones too!

@@emil8025 probably so!
Dilo halluconations shouldnt do damage and dilo is way too fast
I agree with the first part. If they were used as distractions to wear the target down and create openings, then that would be ideal.
The speed wouldn't then be as much of a problem because the actual dilo would still have to make itself vulnerable to do damage
bruh you worked that cera.. they were kinda dumb but gj
He waited too long to fight back. But I was happy for the meal!
wait... were there eggs in that one cerato at the end??
There were! Gestation is now a thing in preparation for nesting! Those gestated eggs are edible if the mother is killed and opened up before they're laid, or if they're stolen from the nest after being laid
Yess a dilo vibe
Heck yeah!
Awesome vid as always! Hope to get upto some more dilo shenanigans someday!

I dont know how I feel about the dilo venom. It seems a bit passive and slightly too strong. Just get in the venom and sit back, sorta
@@felldin it's definitely too strong, and absolutely too passive imo
My daughter and I got the game but aren't even sure were to begin. Would you consider making a tutorial video on how to play? Things like controls, diet, infected, etc?
I have considered doing so, but it'll probably be a project a bit later down the line! For now, a good place to read up on some of the basics is on the evrima quick guide linked in the video description! Kouga is also a great creator who does some tutorials and basic info videos!

Main reason that people were terrified of dilos is, because as anything else you couldn't do/see shit at night.
That's fair, now they've become something truly heinous at night. Kill it quick, or you're trapped in a waking nightmare where you can't quite catch the thing making you lose hp
@dinometta ye and personally I prefer the new dilo, simply because it is.much more unique than the other one. I generally like the new direction the devs are heading with dinos and mechanics, i just hope they dont screw it up now...but its muchbbetter than just adjusting bleed and biteforce ^^
Why are these videos so funny XD?

Is the zombie thing a Halloween event?
Yes! Only on horde test
i took out a pack of 5 raptors as 1 dilo just outside south plains on a cliff by the semi fair drinking spot for dinos. but i absolutely destroyed them
@@DracoFGC heck yeah! A beast!
I don't mean this disrespectfully but the dilo you were used to was literally the most overpowered animal in Legacy for its size. It would be a major red flag for the game (I know, add it to the pile) if Evrima's dilo was anything CLOSE to Legacy dilo.
He was a good pack hunter and lethal in night wich is the dilo purpose
Agree, it took what....6 bites on a rex and it would bleed out in legacy if you kept them standing. I think that's pretty insane.
@@sku4d_942 A leopard is lethal in the night. A Legacy dilo in the night was borderline unstoppable, especially for herbivores which generally had the worst NV of all the dinos in game, and was able kill just about anything and everything. If your small, nocturnal predator is regularly hunting APEX PREDATORS successfully, you done messed up with the balance.
@@Dinoman9877 if u didnt play solo they were not unstopable and i used to like the title of night terror and running the opposite direction when i heard a dilo at night now u dont care if ur as big as a dible u know u can get 2/3 od them easy and ur able to see them
As someone who just migrated to evrima after playing 300 hours legacy on asura. What the heck are you talking about every legacy player will tell you that dilo is a trash tier dino. Utahs ae the once that are broken in legacy.

Played as an dilo in legacy recently. Nobody told me juvies had to eat so long to fill full stomach. Each bite is only 2% fill to the hunger bar...
Different creatures fill hunger at different rates in legacy, juvi sucho takes about 10 seconds to fill up to full as a juvi 🤣 some things take absurdly long though…
@@dtbrex08 i know, but dilo juvie is just crazy
Yeah I'd forgotten how long it took dilo to eat back in the day!
lol facts. i find it funny that it takes the legacy spino 7-10 business days to quench their thirst too

I forgot the hallucinations can hit you no matter what now. That is broken. At least they're a real Night Terror
Yeah, it's part of what makes dilo feel so OP. If you can't kill the actual dilo quickly or outlast the venom, you're dead.
They can also be easily bigged now. So annoying to see people bugging it out when they know they will die.
hello everyone, It may sound like a silly question but which key you use to laugh and send hallucinations?
It's one of your alt attacks. So if you haven't changed what key they're bound to, it'll be left control+ right or left click(can't remember which, I haven't had the default keybinds in a very long time)

Ah! I hoped so! I sat behind that tree chuckling until I stopped being able to haha
Luckily rocks don't always work anymore! It's still a bit buggy, but I've seen things on rocks still get hit!
I feel like dilo could definitely use an agility update a slide would make it a lot better to play
This and improving its venom (and troodon’s) a little more so it’s more fun to play both with and against while also not being op, this version is kinda too strong as you just stand back and right click after they’re envenomated.
I agree, as long as venom is changed a bit as dbrex mentioned
22:37 im sorry….were you grabbing EGGS out of that body?? or was there a nest right there? since when did grabbing eggs become a thing!?
Yup! In the current horde test, eggs can be gestated within a female at the cost of a bit of nutrition. That must be done before they can be laid. Killing a female dino that has been gestating in preparation for nesting means delicious highly nutritious eggs for the hunter!
You have amazing videos is this recorded on petits pieds?
or probably hordetesting
This was on horde testing, yeah
13:45 its actually meant to do that, was in the patch notes a while ago on a horedtest
Being unable to fight the clones? Or being able to attach multiple targets? Because the first sucks, but the second is awesome
@@dinometta the first, its intentional that the clones are a guaranteed hit, thats the whole point of dilo: you envenomate and let the clones do the rest, maybe go in a couple times to refresh

Yes, if you're fully grown, there's no noticeable change. I haven't checked %, but I've used it to max my diets multiple times
Sometimes you are scary. The Dilo definitely is.
Dilo can be a living nightmare, especially as small playables like raptor and young dibble
I was running photosynthetic tissue, gastro, and whatever the less damage from bigger animals one is
So glad dilos no longer get bodied by utahs.
Yeah, one bite to envenomate and then they're basically screwed
so what does the dilo venom do now? that cerato was too unfased with the cackles
Still the same thing. Finish the video. It actually works now. Cera was just ignoring them.
He was just ignoring the clones. I think he just didn't realize how dangerous they could be if he left me to my devices
What is up with the 'zombie' thing
@@milktheshark1226 It was an event for Halloween
@dinometta oh neat. Thanks. Unlucky that I missed out, haven't played for about a month
14:58 was gold xD
Lol rewatching the clip afterward, I absolutely should have heard that carno ages before it charged xD but I was so deep in thought and teno flesh
Im sure it takes time to make videos but its about me and not about you and I DEMAND two videos a week :P
@@Howdy516 hahaha if only!
22:37 Are those eggs? I've never seen that before.
Yes! That's a new feature in horde test, egg gestation before nesting, so if you kill a player that has been gestating eggs, you can pull them out of the corpse and eat them!
22:44 Could anyone explain what the whole zombie deal is? I’ve heard it mentioned a few times but what’s happening?
it was a halloween event on the hordetest, players were infected and set out into the world to cause destruction. infected players that bit other players also became infected and unable to attack one another, as wel as sharing in-game local text chat regardless of species, and all zombies regardless of species need to eat meat to stay alive but eventually rot away.

Dilo is such a unique playable
I am growing to really like it
When people talk about balance i want to see proof not words.
@@dinometta love this explanation, gonna try dilo after my my current dino dead
@@dinometta more question, why when i smell track or blood there no point where prey go? that make me really hard to track someone

I don't struggle too much with tracking, the blood is definitely easier to see during the night though!
