Doug is so fluid ! He's got real skills ! I love his style
Finally a real Master! 🙏🏻 My respect to Master Marcaida 👊🏻
these guys have always worked great with each other, no matter who's doing the teaching verbally they both still are teaching. good visual lesson.
Beautiful music for such a deadly ballet.
Well phrased
Dr. Harmonica
Dr. Harmonica
.
This ballet is known as penchak silat, master.. 🙏 🙏
your comment make me LOL everyday
The flow is amazing it even blends with the music. Thanks for sharing that moment. Gracias.
Between them two, they can advance at a higher pace...
My respect for both instructors...
“It will kill!” 😊
He will killlllllll
The PERFECT choice of music. Both beautiful like the elegance of the flow, yet there's a sadness to it that matches the absolute lethality you can see when he connects and that a life would be ended. Beautiful lethality. Nice work.
What I love about Doug M. Is not that hes an absolute master with a variety of weapons but that he's a pure artist with a knife.
So amazing to watch a master in real time slow motion! What a demonstration! And Koodos to the camera person! You did an incredible job too!👏👏👏
First vid I've seen of Mastro not beating up someone while teaching his martial art. Doug being scary as hell.
Paulo Prieto It says a lot to see a man such as Fred look almost vulnerable against Doug's superior alpha persona. i understand it's a seminar and freds bad ass AF! but Damn..
+Payote P I don´t think Fred Mastro is vulnerable against Doug's, it's wrong to think so, since there is no effective PT ... why? because all the training programs are only for you to wake up your senses and with practice your skills be better... If you suppose that Doug is better, because he dominates the class, that is the worst way to understand the martial arts or PT's , an example of this is how Navy Seal's, Marines, Rangers or Delta operatives have lost their lives against a young or child terrorist who has only a poor training ..... In other words, martial arts as well as the PT, it's like the days of the week, on Monday (the day may be cloudy), it will never look like Wednesday (the day is cold) or Saturday (the day is rainy) in simple words learn it martial arts or PT so that you are alert or prepared but it is never a guarantee the victory!
+ Hugo Alberto Cardenas Vazquez
I agree with you, dominance in the classroom means nothing in real life, I think Mastro and Doug are trained similarly, and they might be better than eachother in different ways, but i think Doug scores higher than Mastro overall - at least from what i have seen on RUclips, which is not enough to be certain.
Doug would destroy Fred Mastro when it come to using a knife. Fred Mastro’s skills aren’t as great as people make them out to be. However Silat is an awesome martial art and I won’t take away from it.
He's got all 720 degrees covered 👌👌
Two of the best martial artists around today imo.
that's some good work. I notice several things. one is he uses same foundation movement over and over, it's not different techniques, it's different application of same basic movement. very smart. more flexible and fluid. also note the continued use of large circle at distance into small circle at touch. this is also great, he's moving the same but getting different results. big at distance and small at touch, move circularly is hallmark of high skill. on a style discussion, I note that virtually all his movement is same as in bagua single palm, (my main art) I can see how I can use my movements in this way. thanks doug, dig it. now more to practice for me!
In real life knife fight, this never happens. But this is an excellent art of knife fighting. A great foundation.
Actually non trained people with knives are probably more dangerous than trained ones. Though, they are also more dangerous for themselves. The thing is movements (with or without knives) need practice to be automatic in real life.

You're welcome! Stay safe gentlemen.
Thank you lord!
thanks
May safety and peace be upon you as well, brother.

Two awesome teachers and the 2 best instructors of the world. My honest opinion.
Cause and Effect....an elegant teaching flow...
Hook and slash, very effective tactic, Thank You for another great video lesson!
this video was just beautiful. It proves that actions are stronger than words. Thise reminds me when I used to watch older people training kali in my local barangay. Unfotunately Filipinos start to forget this beautiful art. This inspires me to go back on fml.
Stealth Approach kali and silat is my favorite
Fred maestro, now this a real deal... I've seen him fight. Watched his moves.. His fast blocks and hard work on the opponent neck and around the back head. Followed by knee up attacks.
Greetings Combat Maestro, from extreme aikido Dojo, Malaysia.
extreme aikido...so like, aikido with strikes?
where did you see him fight? I take it you aren't talking about that fight he lost?
Brilliant absolute brill watching 2 great martial artists respect UK
More vids like this plz
He's finally seeing how a real Martial artist works
Great to see how much Fred as humble. Maestro Marcaida congratulations
Fred is submissive, not humble. Don't worry his ego surely is at a high idle here.
Le séminaire de fou: doug marcaida et Fred mastro!!!!
Quand ta fait ça, tu peux mourir heureux 😁
A pair of self defense gods!!!
The ULTIMATE knife fighting class. Damn, I wish I was there...
I've been teaching American Kenpo since 1976. I teach only adults. After many years of practice,I feel comfortable and more effective in holding my knife/karambit, in the reverse grip. This means you have to get closer, but at the same time, it is a strong stance. Once I get inside his arms, he's mine so to speak. I am 5'2" . Practicing a lot will eventually lead you to "your" comfortable position: saber or reverse grip.
Sifu,
Puyallup
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
2 legends awesome video!
A deadly flow yet so nice to see it
I like the style,,,its easy to follow ,,,love it.
He makes it all look so graceful. Someone said it right...an elegant deadly dance.
That's awesome set to music!
Great post I'm a jkd practitioner. Kali is very effective
Awesome. Reverse grip is quite amazing.
Yes but in a real combat I wouldn't use it.
Really nice display nice techniques self defence is very important 🙏💚
Two legends together

Doug marcaida é uma lenda 👏👏👏
Beautiful
Absolutely beautiful. My two favorite instructors performing poetry in motion.
Taking every opportunity to inflict damage in fluid motion.
Thanks for sharing this video
It's a legendary video
Dog Marcaida en mi opinión, es uno de los mejores en Kali, veo otros videos de instructores y ninguno, tiene la técnica y fluidez en sus acciones como Dog, buen video.

The best!
How happy I am that he is n instructor of a Filipino Martial-art called (in shorter form) "Kali". I just don't know if he is also a filipino.
i love this music so much and i want to find it but i don't know where to find it
extraordinary
Fantastic
Master Ken!
Truly a knife master
Would like to hear him explaining the movements.
That would be great to hear from him. But in fact it's not that complicated, both your hands trap and parry but with your knife hand, you also do a continual fluid slash (ice pick holding is essential to it). Simple in theory, but requieres a LOT of drill.
That’ll never happen. His videos are about as instructive as reading a dictionary front to back. Typical videos of his, just dazzling newcomers by showing off, speeding up suddenly while doing flows that he never breaks down to actually teach. All the while everyone who paid probably a fortune for the seminar stand around in awe.
Maestro muy buenas sus técnicas, no se ven como programadas sino se ve como en una situación Real
The way Teacher Doug conducts his class is different from Teacher Fred. Its all about the "Objective of Teaching" as any instructor determines it and "the How" that objective is achieved. No "one teacher" is better than any other just like no "one Martial Art" is better than the others. Nice Video, Pugay!
Doug Marcadia with a smile, " this knife it will kill " !
GN, can doug block the unblockable throat cut? I love both of these guys, would like to see them at speed. If these either of guys are doing a seminar in your area go you wont be disappointed!
Very Diablo 2 ish music. Love it
No way will yours truly ever try to slug it out with a knife wielder. Much respect though to those who would try their luck with the bad guy.
Agreed,if I'm not protecting innocent people I'm running in the opposite direction.
It’s only worst-case scenario training. No one sane should be looking to get into a blade or gun fight.
You got to love a good knife fight
spoken like a man with common sense!
Beautiful & Brutal knife dance of death
whats the name of this song?
really enjoy these videos btw.
Really nice video
It will KEEAAALLLL!! :D
My father told me that my grandfather was guerilla during WW2 in the philippines and they used this kind of martial arts when they ambush or takeout some of japanese patrols in the jungle silently. too bad i never get the chance to know my grandfather because he died before i was even born.
damn man , wish I could have met your grandfather to. would have been awesome to learn a few moves.
he died because kali insuffient against japanese ninjas i guess
i died lmao
Sparty™ well I have a grandfather guerilla from philipines too and I also have a ninja grandfather from japan >=)
Bruhh.. Ninja only lasted on 1817 and Ninja is also not Good Soldier i mean they hate cops and Japanese Soldiers they are Assassins like Assasins creed :3 their job is to assasinate the higher Person like Samurai leader
THE BEST...
Very good
This is a fixed blade regular knife, look up his fighting with a karambit. He doesn’t play with the karambit.
Whooah,! Kali
Tanks
Those small stabs he does may seem insignificant in the demo but the locations their positioned in are deadly!
Master of knives.
have you ever heard of or seen a style or tactical move were the knife changes hands ??
That's typically a death sentence to switch hands during a fight due to the risk of fucking up and dropping it. What most instructors will tell you is that the only time you would switch is if you had your weapon in your non-dominant hand, in which case you would use open-hand kali to buy yourself time to switch safely.
Best video
Que genios
very nice dance.
thank you.
?!!!
Excelente
2 masters!!!
I only see one, and a petulant student abuser.
Ang galing talaga
Légèreté intelligente.merci
My son and I were looking at a display case of knives when he said to me "Okay, that's nuts. If I pay $500 for a knife, when I open it Doug Marcaida had better appear and wield it for me, or it isn't worth that.
good practice
Better without word i concentrate more on the move and understand better
Doug Marcaida is a true warrior 👍👌🤘
That is nice knife drill
What training knife they using?
Well, fun to watch anyway.
it kills sir
wow!!!
you can sense that these guys are deadly in their arts...
Doug towards Kali practitioner:
It will keellll 😁
It would be an interesting match. But, why the music? We all wanted to hear Doug's explanation
Wow! He is one of the 3 jugdge in "Forged in Fire". "It will killllll!"
Jay Tamayo it weel keel
