RPG's and SOME shooters (not COD etc though), Point and Click. Also played the crap out of Dune 2000/Red Alert etc on my Amiga 600. Just seen I have played Fallout 76 for 1597 hours over 3+ years though! I am getting back into flight sims though.
Oh yeah real time strategies are also great genre! Used to play a ton of Dune 2 and C&C games too and also Warcraft 2. 1597 hours on one game is insane amount! I'll never fully get how some people can play one game for so long.😄 I can do maybe 150 or 200 hours at best but no matter how great of a game, i eventually just want something else for a change. Well i might have thousands of hours in solitaire though but that's a game that i've played a lot at work places and just a quick game every now and then when i don't have nothing else to do at the moment and i started playing it back in the '90s.😄
Thanks Lilitha! Yeah horror is great too! I love survival horror cause that usually at least gives you a gun which relaxes me a bit at least.😄 Something like Outlast games are a huge nope for me though but i don't hate that genre either. I just hate that i can't take the stress when playing those type of games.😂
I dont know that I can even name 7 genres. Oh FYI Denis HATES the word genre. Wait a FLIPPIN' minute. Horror gets an honorable mention. Can't argue with your 7 since they're yours. I hobestly think mine would be Metroidvania. I know... I'm surprised too!
You know after this video RUclips suggested me a video that said genres are stupid and i watched it and i kinda now agree.😂 But they do still help kinda narrow down the premise or the style of the game. You just have to be more specific i guess. I mean i like beat em ups but there is a huge difference between Double Dragon for Nes and new Yakuza games. For me both do it though cause i just care about the punching in the face aspect.😄 Horror and especially survival horror could have made it to this list but since i have kinda love-hate relationship with those it didn't make the cut quite. Metroidvania games are cool too! So many i haven't played in that genre and many more i haven't finished!
I have not played on console since PS1 days, BUT did play one of my sons in a FIFA game (PS2), he was 9 at the time, beating me 6-1 at half time, so I spat the dummy and never played again! Cannot stand ANYTHING Nintendo.
Fifa games were great too back in the days. Might still get a kick out of them for a game or two but yeah i would get my ass handed to me in those. Haven't played one in years! I personally love a lot of Nintendo franchises. They do have their own style though that might not be for everyone.

Some really great choices, horror is still my main though... I haven't played much recently.

I tried to play Elite Dangerous but found it overly complicated. Loved the originals though.
I loved Elite Dangerous but i got tired of getting my ass kicked in combat. No Man's Sky is more my thing.
