Pewdiepie is a good example of this tbh, I’m not much a fan of his brand of humor but I know he changed a lot since back then. Back in RUclips’s “golden age” pewdiepie was also known for screaming and overreacting constantly while doing let’s plays, but now him and his content has matured a lot and his humor has changed so he kept a lot of his older audience

Nah, the fall of Tobuscus didn’t start with the allegations. It ENDED with the allegations. Toby got caught up on creating books and mobile games and started to upload WAY less content. By the time the allegations were public, Toby had already lost most of his viewers.

I think it would have been relevant to the video to point out, that one of his exes actually somewhat defended him.You showed Jaclyn Glenn's video as if she accused him of sexual assault as well, but she actually described how her experience with him was the opposite. If she seemed like she wasn't a 100% into it, he would lose all interest in sex. She did however confirm the drug misuse and how he was a serial cheater. Still, I think it would have been good to mention that (as far as i'm aware) only the first allegation was about sexual assault, the others mostly described him as an asshole.

All of the retrospectives I've seen on Toby have been from people who didn't know of him before the accusations. It's nice to hear a fellow past-Audience member talk about it, even if the content and conclusions are much the same. I both like and loathe watching Tobuscus retrospectives because it's such a nostalgia gut-punch, but with a sour ending. I get flashbacks to watching the literal trailers in my now deceased grandmother's spare bedroom, or staying home sick and binging on his Dead Island series. Not to mention how invested I was when, through his content, I was introduced to Amnesia, my most beloved game. I have a particular memory of him missing an obvious tinderbox that for some reason continues to stick with me when I play that area of the game... I don't often think of him or those days otherwise. The melancholy this subject kicks up is so strong, even despite having moved away from his content long before his popularity began to really fade. Good video, dude, if you see this. Auzzie I appreciate the nostalgia. I think a lot of us can relate and it’s cool to hear about how others remember his content. For me, one of the first portraits I drew as a teenager and edited on my computer was of Toby. I was really proud of it too. I have mixed emotions now, but my sis and I were both fans and would watch his music and gaming videos together in my room and those are still happy memories.

Back in RUclips’s “golden age” pewdiepie was also known for screaming and overreacting constantly while doing let’s plays, but now him and his content has matured a lot and his humor has changed so he kept a lot of his older audience

Nah, the fall of Tobuscus didn’t start with the allegations. It ENDED with the allegations. Toby got caught up on creating books and mobile games and started to upload WAY less content. By the time the allegations were public, Toby had already lost most of his viewers.

This dude was one of the most popular youtubers throughout my four years of highschool. I still get his songs stuck in my head. I honestly never knew what happened to him until recently.
I think it would have been relevant to the video to point out, that one of his exes actually somewhat defended him.You showed Jaclyn Glenn's video as if she accused him of sexual assault as well, but she actually described how her experience with him was the opposite. If she seemed like she wasn't a 100% into it, he would lose all interest in sex. She did however confirm the drug misuse and how he was a serial cheater. Still, I think it would have been good to mention that (as far as i'm aware) only the first allegation was about sexual assault, the others mostly described him as an asshole.

I always disagree when ppl say that he never was himself or that he was just a character. Everyone’s gotta be a skeptic. I genuinely believe that is who he is and that’s why we watched him. That’s his humor and his genuine A.D.D. As someone who has seen all of his content, I think it’s safe to say that he is that person.

Tbh it was going down before then. He was the first youtuber I had every subbed to and it was because of his Minecraft series. It’s sad to see what has happened to his channels and I continue to wish he somehow can come back and be relevant again.
After the whole Etika thing that happened recently, I kind of have been getting a little more worried about people with major presences on RUclips. Someone better be checking up on him.

I'd like to see the details on that. A lot of times with false allegations, you can counter sue for defamation. I would hope he did and got a ton of money from it, because I'm sure he made plenty from youtube... Would be quite a pricey lawsuit.

I cannot stress enough how much I've watched tobuscus. He was such a big part of my childhood I even got me and my mom to watch him with me so we've had so many inside jokes about him. It was very sad to see his downfall because I absolutely loved him as a child and it affected me because he was amazing. When the allegations came up I had no idea how to feel about him. And the first keemstar video I've seen was that of what you were talking about. I had no idea what to think about tobuscus anymore so I had no choice but to move on from him. I never had another RUclipsr I watched as continuously as I did with him. I related to him with his fun personality and adhd because I literally have the same thing now
Same here. Crazy and very sad to think back then he was my absolute hero and now I have thought about him MAYBE once or twice in 5 years. I really wish I could’ve seen what he would’ve been like to day had all those allegations not came out.
All of the retrospectives I've seen on Toby have been from people who didn't know of him before the accusations. It's nice to hear a fellow past-Audience member talk about it, even if the content and conclusions are much the same.
I both like and loathe watching Tobuscus retrospectives because it's such a nostalgia gut-punch, but with a sour ending. I get flashbacks to watching the literal trailers in my now deceased grandmother's spare bedroom, or staying home sick and binging on his Dead Island series. Not to mention how invested I was when, through his content, I was introduced to Amnesia, my most beloved game. I have a particular memory of him missing an obvious tinderbox that for some reason continues to stick with me when I play that area of the game... I don't often think of him or those days otherwise. The melancholy this subject kicks up is so strong, even despite having moved away from his content long before his popularity began to really fade.

Auzzie I appreciate the nostalgia. I think a lot of us can relate and it’s cool to hear about how others remember his content. For me, one of the first portraits I drew as a teenager and edited on my computer was of Toby. I was really proud of it too. I have mixed emotions now, but my sis and I were both fans and would watch his music and gaming videos together in my room and those are still happy memories.
He was what got me into Skyrim lol
