I'm trying to address them emotionally. But there is a lifetime of buried traumatic material which i cannot access or process. And identifying exactly what emotions are involved i have found very difficult. Certainly grief and anger. Either way, its stuck deep inside.

I hear you. Me too. Mine have become automatic patterns and how do I address that?

You may need help thru a good therapist just for this level of it. What may help to start is simply being aware in a moment ‘what am I feeling?’ Get a list of diff emotions to help. Most for trauma survivors is shades of fear incl anger. For now don’t try to tie into past just what or how am I feeling now? Keep it simple and no judgement or analysis just learning awareness. It’s a simple safe way to get tuned into yourself w/o having to look at the past and all that it means. It’s in your hands. Your body and life so your choice. Do this for a week, month or year. Until you start to feel OK with being aware of your emotions thru life. No right or wrong. At the end of s day write out your thoughts, no spell check, analyzing, rereading etc. Just dump it all down. Then rip it up the paper and toss. Don’t make into a big thing just dump, rip, toss. Move what’s in thru and out. Trust me. Hope any of this helps.

@@jmc8076 Been there, done that. I know how the past is involved and understand and accept it. It’s just the underlying emotions that are stuck.

Thank you for this! So…I didn’t realize I have TMS after extreme stress including mold exposure in 2020. I was born with hypothyroidism and developed a goiter in 2021 and they removed the thyroid before finding the mold and getting properly diagnosed. Now I have horrible symptoms from the thyroid being low and hard to stabilize but also from the TMS. Have you seen someone without a thyroid tolerate the meds and heal from TMS? I definitely retrain and focus on my emotions. Sometimes I can pull myself out of the slump or anxiety but it’s much harder when thyroid isn’t stable. POTS is one of the worst symptoms I have.

    Hello Jim
Have you (or anoyone else reading this) seen success with this nervous system retraining in reversing the inflammation and swelling from CRPS / Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy?

Some old school tms coaches say consistent messages of safety are more important than becoming more emotionally intelligent so I've been doing more somatic exercises to calm down then giving myself more consistent messages of safety. I think it works, but what are your thoughts on this jim? I guess if someone's repressing anger or they're behaving in ways that keep the symptoms coming it is important?

What we resist persists. A teacher I’ve worked with from India for many yrs feels allowing and acknowledging emotions helps. Let them come up and out or thru in the moment with tools Jim teaches in these videos incl somatic breath. Most neurons are in the gut tied to the brain thru vagus nerve. Look up ENS. Many diff views and ideas are good but do what feels right for you. Look up Jim’s bio and training. It’s extensive. Good luck.
