I was a huge fan of Dragonball too, but I am still in love with Pokémon since I was 5 or 6 years old (now I am 30). My favourites are Evee (Evoli), Vulpix (same in German) and Dratini (also same in German). I finally started crocheting my favourite Pokémon and wrote down a few more that I also like. The (151) Pokémon are very nostalgic for me. I played the games on the Game boy color. I played Pokemon snap and Stadium on Nintendo 64. I collected the cards. One of the first movies I watched in the cinema was the first Pokémon movie. I also watched the series.
I once visited a Sneak Preview where you don't know which movie you might get to watch. Turned out it was a Pokemon movie. I died a thousand death that night. Thankfully the real move came after that one. But oh buy, what horrible amount of time to watch Pikachu and co. Wrote a guy who grew up during the later 1970s and 1980s with Kimba, der weiße Löwe (yayh!), Captain Future (hooray!) or Biene Maja (we love you, Willi!), aka Kimba the White Lion (whooot-whoot), Captain Future (only true with the german soundtrack!) and Maya the Honey Bee (rooting for the ants!)

I'm in a completely different team. I like Dragon Ball Z (even more classical Dragon Ball) but it isn't the competitor of Pokémon. I'm in team Digimon which has a far better storytelling but people tend to see it as poor copy of Pokémon. At least in Germany because it startet one year after Pokémon (1999/2000). And it's Intro song is a legendary one. It was my very first Isekai anime (another world).
I love both, Pokémon was in my early childhood and in my early teenager time it was Dragonball but now I love Pokémon so much. I played every game since the fourth generation. Me and my brother bought he opposite game, he bought e.g. Pokémon Black and I bought Pokémon White so we had always both games 😂😂😂

If you spell Rettan backwards it means Natter. Same by Arbok the evolution from Rattan. It means kobra backwards
