To anyone pondering which class to play, I recommend Imperial Agent, best story and most interesting gameplay mechanics. Second best is Sith Warrior in my opinion. Smuggler story is there just for the lulz, and has some of the funniest dialogue in any BioWare game.
I personally love playing bounty hunter. Just doing bounties, becoming a mandalorian, and no one telling me how to live my life. As well as the interactions with my team. Man those are the best. I also just love making money.

When I watched this video for the first time, I liked the Inquisitor more than the others, I started the game with a Inquisitor and I loved it. Now I have played all the classes and I still love it. Inquisitor forever!!!

For those of you who are having trouble deciding which to choose, subscribers can have a character slot for each class - 8 total. Free-to-play players have 2 slots, but you can switch servers to have more characters. I had trouble deciding which to be and now I have one of every class. Try them all.
Gotta admit that the Consular has the best trailer. It's balanced, has great pacing and since I have played all classes a fair way into their story; can admit that the included story scenes in the trailer are a fantastic choice!
I have played swtor for over a year now, and all the classes and storylines are really well put together. I personally enjoy the freelance feel of the bounty hunter, although the deception and deceit in the inquisitor story are quite fun as well.
Hate the intro??? You know how much I rocked out to that? I even took out my old green ranger morpher and started singing the theme song like I was a kid again! The Nostalgia just rushed through me. And everyone who hated that intro... damn you!

This game looks SO AMAZING!!!!! I wish that Bioware and Lucasarts would make a console version of this game. Even if they don't I'll still LOVE watching videos about it, but in all serious though, I think that this would be INCREDIBLE!!!!! It's EVERYTHING I want in a Star Wars Role Playing Game, the way that Bioware and Lucasarts could do it, they'd have to (re)make it look and feel kind of like their two BEST RPG's Mass Effect and Dragon Age, and take the BEST of both. But like I said, it's their game, they are free to do whatever they want with this game.

The biggest badass in this entire game is the Bounty Hunter. Nothing else equals the skill of The Mandalorian Elite. They are called Super Commandos for a reason. Take the best that you have and triple it than you might just equal a snack for the Ori'ramikad.
I've tried Jedi Knight, Consular, and Smuggler and I have to say that the Consular fits my gameplay style best but I like all of the stories. I can also see the appeal of the empire storylines too, based on the cutscenes people have uploaded to RUclips. If I were to play Empire though, I'd go light side because the darkside storylines are freaky. I can see why people like the Empire because it allows them to do things in a game they would (hopefully) never do in real life, but I personally don't want to have to deal with the backstabbing that goes on whether you choose light or dark. Consular fits both my gameplay style and my conscience so it is my favorite of the ones I've played and watched.
Susan Carroway That's why you go Operative. I almost never use cover in PvE due to me having so many stun and stabbing abilities. Just play Operative and pick a dps skilltree. You'll have a blast, i assure you.
Nemo NoOne Yes but judging by the way she talked about the story so much, I can safely assume she's a PvE player, so if she doesn't wanna be limited by cover, don't pick sniper.
if youre still playing video games, I recommend you re download it and buy game time for $30. The game is so fun if youre into MMOs and like to have a nice story told to you.
You can have more than one character. Pick one at random and see how you like the storyline. I wasn't that interested in Sith Warrior but, once I gave it a go, it's probably my favourite story so far. That, and I really enjoy romancing Quinn.... :3
Chuzzy Bounty hunter is probably the char I get the through fights the easiest with.I was two levels under and still got through fights easy (gotta love mako)
Smuggler is a great class for the humor alone...story is fun too. Trooper is pretty awesome, I played Jedi Knight to 2nd chapter but... not sure I really enjoy the class much, the story is pretty good though...but even with upgraded weapons, armor and mods.. I feel so weak all the time. I also tried Imperial Agent... not sure why the class is so loved, the story so far is 'okay' have not gotten to chapter 2 yet. One problem with the Imperial side I dislike is how dark everything is.. and I don't mean the dark side... I mean the capital city of Dromund Kaas is sooo dark and depressing compared to Coruscant... guess I just suck at being evil. lol
Games Maik Jolt ( Sith Inquisitor move, interrupts your move and prevents you from using it for 4 seconds), Electrocute (deals damage and stuns you for 5 seconds) I run behind you and use Maul ( an attack that deals heavy damage but can only be used when behind target).
I can Mind Snap and do that stun (forgot the name) Force Stun or something, and pop my shield, and I'm a healer, so I keep my health up, and if I get in trouble my Force Barrier is my best friend, especially wil Force Armor at the same time ;) I even have passive HoTs with them :D
Operative. I love the visuals the story and the animations of most the attacks. I also like the Jedi Shadow. And for you what sub class of the Consular?
I love how so many people are saying how "This game is dead" and "It didn't live up to what it could have been". This game is amazing and plenty of people will agree. SWTOR is listening to it's community they understand that the game needs to be improved. So they released some cartel market items...it wasn't enough for you. Then they released a DLC...wasn't enough for you. Then they increased the level cap...wasn't enough for you. I could go on about this but seriously guys? You guys need to grow up and stop putting all this pressure on them. It was hard enough for them to make 8 VERY long storylines and make them seem unique (And add in all those planets and side-quest). They worked so hard on this game and all your saying is "What a shame". Your acting like a 6 year old who wants more cookies from the jar. Some day BioWare is going to close that jar and your going to miss those cookies.
Best mmo out there, it beats every other game with its great story and character development, especially since ever character you talk to looks enthusiastic.

eww pvp? no just no. now if a warlike team based co-op horde fire-fight style mode where you fight progressively stronger foes that learn from battles with your character and gradually getting smarter faster stronger and deadlier would be interesting
even though SWTOR is an awesome game, it isn't really Star Wars universe accurate. There are imperial soldiers thousands of years before the rise of Palpatine and Darth Vader, and the republic developed armour that wouldn't be made in at least a thousand years on Kamino for clones. Not hating on SWTOR since it is awesome, i'm just nit picking.
The Sith empire was an outside force that sought to dominate the Republic, and was ruled by various leaders, from Tulak Horde to Naga Sadow. By the time of SW:tPM, it had been over a thousand years since that empire had faded. Darth Bane ended that era by killing off all his Sith contemporaries and establishing the rule of two, which culminated in the rise of Emporer Palpatine (AKA "Darth Sidious") and his apprentice, Darth Vader... this being of course AFTER the Republic had become corrupt enough to be dominated from within (and fractured, due to no unifying force, such as an outside threat), and the Jedi had essentially become lazy. All that is to say the Galactic Empire and the Sith Empire are two different forces. As for the armor... the differences are subtle, but they are there, and tech doesn't advance that fast in the SW universe.
The Sith Empire was a very different thing. This all happened over a thousand years before The Phantom Menace. Sith, while not as commonplace as Jedi, were MUCH more abundant. They had a school on Korriban just like the Jedi. As far as the armor, it may look similar but its very different. Its like tanks. An old WWII tank still looks pretty similar in design to a modern tank, but the components making them up are vastly different. The Imperial droids are a perfect example of this. In this game they are pretty square and bulky, in the movies they are much sleeker and lighter. However, when comparing them they still look very similar even though there is over 1,000 years difference. As Connell said, tech doesn't advance a whole lot in the Star Wars universe.
ConnellxSilverfur To be precise, the Sith Empire was always the archenemy of the Republic, while the Galactic Empire de facto WAS the Republic. This is why I find it inconsequent that the Sith-Imperial battle cruisers in SWTOR look like Galactic Republican/Imperial Star Destroyers. They obviously made it because the Star Destroyer form looks "evil" but it's contrary to Star Wars lore. Earlier during the time of Revan, ships that looked like Star Destroyers, as the Leviathan and the Ravager, were used by the Sith but were originally Republican ships. As we all know, when Revan fell to the dark side his fleet followed him. You could argue that those ships became iconic to the Sith, so they used this design later during the Cold War, but then again, 3000 years later during the Clone Wars, the Republic reused this classical Republican design with the Acclamator-Cruiser, the Victory Class and Venator Class Star Destroyer. The Galactic Empire, the cultural successor of the Republic, continued this tradition with the Imperial Class Star Destroyer. This is why I think that the Sith battle cruisers should be Republican ships. Sorry for the nerd rage^^
Wilhuff Tarkin Technical and military speaking, the "triangular" shape of those Star Destroyers gave them a huge advantage over their oponents, because they could use all the weapons in the ship aiming to the front, making it an smaller target (lol). Then, they re-used that because it was effective AND easy to make.

Ugh I hate that I have to pay :(. I'm stuck between the assassin and the sorcerer!! The sorcerer is cool with all of its long ranged powers and lighting storm. But I'm just standing in one place shocking people. It's cool but it gets boring.
It never gets boring killing the shit out everything that moves :) Also, I'd point out that only one of the three Sorceror specs is focused on Lightning :)
It is. Even in warzones you can use stun abilities to control players enough to take on multiple foes, if you're good. Light saber blocking does happen when you use the standard lightsaber swing (which I do use when I run out of energy). That bounty hunter ability where he pulls the dude with a wire exists in game. I didn't see a single thing here that wasn't in the game.
The game itself can be fun and extremely addictive, like WoW. I myself have tried all eight classes. Problem is, as is typical of EA, while the storylines can be fun initially, the rest of the game feels rushed; customer support is virtually non-existent; and its F2P model is the worst in the market. EA's corporate greed is slowly taking the fun away from everything. They're basically the cancer tumour of the gaming industry. My advice: if you want to play a good F2P MMO, try LOTRO.
+universe king These aren't level progression trailers, they're introduction trailers from before the game was released. They're meant to get people interested in the game, not show you which planet you start on.
Yeah, its been the same for years. The reason its like that is, in my opinion, because nothing else would really fit the vibe of this game. It just looks and feels like an MMO, and it is very believably Star Wars. That isn't to say I wouldn't perhaps like to see something with more Skyrim-esque graphics, but I like this too.

Cant beleive the counsilar got protectors of the earth as their music instead of femsheps trooper.
At 2:30 - 2:31 the Sith Warrior is just riding a speeder taxi, no controls at all, it is a taxi.

One problem with the Imperial side I dislike is how dark everything is.. and I don't mean the dark side... I mean the capital city of Dromund Kaas is sooo dark and depressing compared to Coruscant... guess I just suck at being evil. lol

Games Maik Jolt ( Sith Inquisitor move, interrupts your move and prevents you from using it for 4 seconds), Electrocute (deals damage and stuns you for 5 seconds) I run behind you and use Maul ( an attack that deals heavy damage but can only be used when behind target).
I can Mind Snap and do that stun (forgot the name) Force Stun or something, and pop my shield, and I'm a healer, so I keep my health up, and if I get in trouble my Force Barrier is my best friend, especially wil Force Armor at the same time ;) I even have passive HoTs with them :D
Trooper and Inquisitor were my favorites to play.

I love how so many people are saying how "This game is dead" and "It didn't live up to what it could have been". This game is amazing and plenty of people will agree. SWTOR is listening to it's community they understand that the game needs to be improved. So they released some cartel market items...it wasn't enough for you. Then they released a DLC...wasn't enough for you. Then they increased the level cap...wasn't enough for you. I could go on about this but seriously guys?
You guys need to grow up and stop putting all this pressure on them. It was hard enough for them to make 8 VERY long storylines and make them seem unique (And add in all those planets and side-quest). They worked so hard on this game and all your saying is "What a shame". Your acting like a 6 year old who wants more cookies from the jar. Some day BioWare is going to close that jar and your going to miss those cookies.

even though SWTOR is an awesome game, it isn't really Star Wars universe accurate. There are imperial soldiers thousands of years before the rise of Palpatine and Darth Vader, and the republic developed armour that wouldn't be made in at least a thousand years on Kamino for clones. Not hating on SWTOR since it is awesome, i'm just nit picking.
The Sith empire was an outside force that sought to dominate the Republic, and was ruled by various leaders, from Tulak Horde to Naga Sadow. By the time of SW:tPM, it had been over a thousand years since that empire had faded. Darth Bane ended that era by killing off all his Sith contemporaries and establishing the rule of two, which culminated in the rise of Emporer Palpatine (AKA "Darth Sidious") and his apprentice, Darth Vader... this being of course AFTER the Republic had become corrupt enough to be dominated from within (and fractured, due to no unifying force, such as an outside threat), and the Jedi had essentially become lazy. All that is to say the Galactic Empire and the Sith Empire are two different forces. As for the armor... the differences are subtle, but they are there, and tech doesn't advance that fast in the SW universe.

The Sith Empire was a very different thing. This all happened over a thousand years before The Phantom Menace. Sith, while not as commonplace as Jedi, were MUCH more abundant. They had a school on Korriban just like the Jedi.
As far as the armor, it may look similar but its very different. Its like tanks. An old WWII tank still looks pretty similar in design to a modern tank, but the components making them up are vastly different. The Imperial droids are a perfect example of this. In this game they are pretty square and bulky, in the movies they are much sleeker and lighter. However, when comparing them they still look very similar even though there is over 1,000 years difference. As Connell said, tech doesn't advance a whole lot in the Star Wars universe.
ConnellxSilverfur To be precise, the Sith Empire was always the archenemy of the Republic, while the Galactic Empire de facto WAS the Republic.
This is why I find it inconsequent that the Sith-Imperial battle cruisers in SWTOR look like Galactic Republican/Imperial Star Destroyers. They obviously made it because the Star Destroyer form looks "evil" but it's contrary to Star Wars lore. Earlier during the time of Revan, ships that looked like Star Destroyers, as the Leviathan and the Ravager, were used by the Sith but were originally Republican ships. As we all know, when Revan fell to the dark side his fleet followed him. You could argue that those ships became iconic to the Sith, so they used this design later during the Cold War, but then again, 3000 years later during the Clone Wars, the Republic reused this classical Republican design with the Acclamator-Cruiser, the Victory Class and Venator Class Star Destroyer. The Galactic Empire, the cultural successor of the Republic, continued this tradition with the Imperial Class Star Destroyer. This is why I think that the Sith battle cruisers should be Republican ships.

Wilhuff Tarkin Technical and military speaking, the "triangular" shape of those Star Destroyers gave them a huge advantage over their oponents, because they could use all the weapons in the ship aiming to the front, making it an smaller target (lol). Then, they re-used that because it was effective AND easy to make.

Ugh I hate that I have to pay :(. I'm stuck between the assassin and the sorcerer!! The sorcerer is cool with all of its long ranged powers and lighting storm. But I'm just standing in one place shocking people. It's cool but it gets boring.
Being an assassin is kind a lot of work, mainly the stealth. Honestly if u prefer the close combat be a sith warrior

It is. Even in warzones you can use stun abilities to control players enough to take on multiple foes, if you're good. Light saber blocking does happen when you use the standard lightsaber swing (which I do use when I run out of energy). That bounty hunter ability where he pulls the dude with a wire exists in game. I didn't see a single thing here that wasn't in the game.
This game had so much potential...shame really.

The game itself can be fun and extremely addictive, like WoW. I myself have tried all eight classes. Problem is, as is typical of EA, while the storylines can be fun initially, the rest of the game feels rushed; customer support is virtually non-existent; and its F2P model is the worst in the market. EA's corporate greed is slowly taking the fun away from everything. They're basically the cancer tumour of the gaming industry. My advice: if you want to play a good F2P MMO, try LOTRO.

Yeah, its been the same for years. The reason its like that is, in my opinion, because nothing else would really fit the vibe of this game. It just looks and feels like an MMO, and it is very believably Star Wars. That isn't to say I wouldn't perhaps like to see something with more Skyrim-esque graphics, but I like this too.
