Yanks should get Bellinger regardless of how the Soto situation plays out. He'd have hit 24 HRs last season in Yankees Stadium. Here's the trade that solves all the Yankees current position player issues : Yankees get : Bellinger (1b), Nico Hoerner (2b), $8 million in cash (to bring Bellinger down to a reasonable $20m) Cubs get : Everson Pereira, Jorbit Vivas, Will Warren Cubs get younger and cheaper. Yankees get their leadoff hitter (Hoerner) and a lefty cleanup hitter 1b (Bellinger) to hit between Judge & Stanton. Yankees would be much better on the bases and defensively.
Hahahaha they are going to have to trade a Spencer Jones or Roderick arias or even George Lombard on top of Warren vivas and possiblly Hampton or selvidge. Going to have to trade a top pitching along either way the 2nd or 3rd best prospect in the system for BELLINGER and Hoerner haha
@@RuckUpButtercup_1 - The only Cub with actual trade value is Hoerner, by way of his 2 controllable years. Bellinger's value is actually negative at this moment. He's overpaid, and not worth his current contract. Thus, if the Cubs want to hold onto Hoerner, they could keep him and the Yanks could send the Cubs a mid-range prospect to take Bellinger's salary off their hands.
Hey Alex, hey Ryan listen you’re opening statement I didn’t even get to watch the video yet. This has nothing to do with Plan B. The Yankees need Cody Ballinger. If you get Soto, he plays first base if he don’t get Soto he plays centerfield and then the Yankees get a first baseman, no matter which way it goes. He is needed on the New York Yankees. Enjoy your day my friends.😇💪
Jones is not blocked entirely. Obviously he plays CF at a high level, but he also has been worked out at 1b. he has the fielding ability to succeed at that position. It may be wasting his ability in the OF, but if the outfield is jammed and you want to get both Jones and Dominguez in the lineup, Jones can play 1b. (obviously assuming Jones figures out the strike zone.)
Soto or not. They have to get a 1st baseman. Rather than give a deal that is 3+ years, or taking on Cody’s money, I’d go Santana. Yes he’s oldest of the 3 options but it’s 1 or maybe 2 years deal or 1 + 1 with buy out. He gives gold glove defense, switch hitter and 20+ HRs. And you aren’t locked in long terms and end up with a bad contract 2ish years into it. Santana at 1st is best option. Soto or not.
The more I think about it the more I wouldn't spend big money on 1B, especially an aging one. I would spend most of our money on obviously re-signing Soto and then aggressively pursue another horse ace in Burnes. I would save money by getting Santana for 1B and putting Durbin at 2B. If they can find a way to trade Cortes and/or Stro plus Trevino then that saves them more money. Santana makes even more sense considering they have Rice, Flores and Rumfield within their organization already and Murakami will be available after next season as well. If the yankees get lucky with Sasaki choosing them then they would have the best rotation in baseball too. All of this is realistic and doable imo. Durbin - 2B Soto - RF Judge - LF Dominguez - CF Stanton - DH Wells - C Jazz - 3B Santana - 1B Volpe - SS Burnes Cole Gil Rodon Schmidt Sasaki?
Who is better ? Tell me. We Resign Soto and trade for bellinger to put at first we also have cubs pay some of his contract. (Like how Miami paid for some of Stanton) a cheap option for 3rd is Peraza he plays good defense move chisolm to 2nd
We could agree all day long at the end of the day it’s the New York Yankees choice! We bet I hope that one solo wants to return. Also, nobody knows anything until the next couple of weeks. Then the truth will be revealed crush your fingers.💪
How about trade for Brendan Donovan for Lt field, also add helsley in the deal for some prospects plus Nestor, Sign Christian walker at first Jazz at second Durbin at third or balls out and sign adames
Hey guys again Ryan he said he want all the money for Juan Soto. You have a whole team that you have to put on the field as much as I love soto it takes a team to win the World Series. I will never forget 1996 the saying then was we played today we win today hopefully things will work out. This all falls on Hal’s lap and I got a strong feeling he’s just gonna sign Soto and take the luxury tax for one year more money comes off next year
Santana would be an awful decision for 1B. The Yankees don't need to get older and less athletic. And they certainly don't need a guy who's OPS against righties has been less than .680 in 4 of the last 5 seasons. Righty pitching is represents 75% of the league.
Bellinger's 2023 was fueled by a high BABIP that is out of line with the rest of his career. When you look at how softly he makes contact, I would say that his 2024 numbers are his best case scenario moving forward, and there's a deep basement if he stops making as much contact as he has. That's really been his saving grace; he puts the ball in play. This just doesn't seem like a good idea to me. I also don't see us taking on a qualifying offer with Christian Walker. There's other options that wont cost us international pool money, and we do want a shot at Sasaki.
Santander and Pete would be TERRIBLE contracts. Bad defenders or adequate at BEST at their position. And both just bring power. They need to get balance. Bat to ball skill. Hit for avg. don’t need another mediocre defender looking for just HRs.
If the Cubs want the Yankees to take on Bellinger contract ……then how about getting DJ to wave his no trade and saying ok we take him but your getting DJ returned! Stroman I’d say will be shopped and no be a Yankee next year ……the Nationals might be an option!
You guys know that Bellinger plays first base REALLY WELL right?
Yanks should get Bellinger regardless of how the Soto situation plays out. He'd have hit 24 HRs last season in Yankees Stadium.

Cubs aren’t taking Stroman back 😂
Get him yankees
Yankees plan B should definitely be a Bellinger & Paredes trade package from the Cubs

Jones needs to be traded , he has a long way to go until he is resdy for the majors .

Santana at 1st is best option. Soto or not.
Consider:
Chisholm, 3B
Soto, RF
Judge, CF
Bellinger, 1B
Stanton, DH
Wells, C
Dominguez, LF
Volpe, SS
Durbin, 2B

Durbin - 2B
Soto - RF
Judge - LF
Dominguez - CF
Stanton - DH
Wells - C
Jazz - 3B
Santana - 1B
Volpe - SS
Burnes
Cole
Gil
Rodon
Schmidt
Sasaki?
Bellinger would be a good move with or without Soto. He can play an excellent CF and an excellent 1B.
Who is better ? Tell me. We Resign Soto and trade for bellinger to put at first we also have cubs pay some of his contract. (Like how Miami paid for some of Stanton) a cheap option for 3rd is Peraza he plays good defense move chisolm to 2nd
They will have to get a lefty to bat second at least
We could agree all day long at the end of the day it’s the New York Yankees choice! We bet I hope that one solo wants to return. Also, nobody knows anything until the next couple of weeks. Then the truth will be revealed crush your fingers.💪
Another thing too is trade Trevino for a bullpen arm Wells is better and Trevino is still a good catcher.
Yankees should sign Ha-seong Kim, hes injured and maybe out for the first month, maybe can get him for cheap.
I would love to see Soto, snell and a first baseman
Bring up AAA guys Durban, Dominguez
I wanted kukuchi the Yankees could not hit him at all.
When player accepts QO, it means he knows he is not worth his salary. Cubs desperate to unload him. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
How about trade for Brendan Donovan for Lt field, also add helsley in the deal for some prospects plus Nestor,
Sign Christian walker at first
Jazz at second
Durbin at third or balls out and sign adames

DJ WHO?
Why does everyone want bellinger so badly ? Noone wanted him in fa a year ago , isnt that red flag enough to stay sway from him ?
No

Don’t need any 38 year old players….crazy
Hes 30…
No thanks
Don't keep talking about trading Jones.

That makes no sense for cubs. DJ has zero value to any team.
@
It is not about value!
No Bellinger please just sign someone better.
First
DO NOT TRADE FOR BELLINGER!! Go for Christian Walker! Let me repeat that again, DO NOT TRADE FOR BELLINGER
He’s Not That Good, F- Bellinger
oh don’t worry i learned what it’s like to be a cubs fan and expect mediocrity
Way too much money for Bellinger imo, just sign Christian Walker
