Keep the guy. Mickey Mantle was so nervous his first season that he had to be sent down to class A in Kansas City blues Yankee top farm club. Remember Mantle was promoted from Class D to Class C to the majors. There isnt much talent in their farm and outside if judge there hasnt been in a long time . And that is proven by the long lost list of disappointments in the last 7 years alone. GM from 1998 (after season)-2009 when we won 3 rings with players he was either AGM or GM at the time we got them. Everyone who pays attention knows he's the one who did the Brosius trade, he traded for David Justice in 2000 at the deadline. Made the trade after the 98 season to acquire Roger Clemens, a risky move given he was sending Bush, Lloyd and Wells, three guys the fans absolutely loved. I say all.this so you won't respond with the tired and idiotic argument that Cashman "inherited" a dynasty. But that's not how championship rosters are usually built. Yankees "bought" themselves a lot of playoff appearances from 2002-2024, and got the one ring in 09 (but that team still had the solid foundation of guys we developed) The championships we won from 1996-2000 were built on incredible trades for fairly unimpressive players like Paul O'Neill, Tino..some reclamation projects like Doc and Straw. Some past their prime future HOFers in Raines and Boggs. But the key was the core 5. Bernie, Jeter, Posada, Pettitte and Mo. It is exceedingly rare to be able to actually BUY a championship. Rings usually come with chemistry. And when you have a bunch of kids all coming up together... If it clicks, then buckle up. Look at the Astros (cheating aside, they had a really good homegrown core) When the Giants were winning, it was with Panda, Posey, Etc. They hold on to some too long, but you know what, as much as fans hate when the team failed to trade a prospect that went on to be a bust, it is nothing compared to how pissed fans get when you trade away a guy that becomes an absolute star. And say what you will.about Cashman, to date, I don't think he's traded away a single prospect that we look back wistfully and wish that we hadn't traded. And he trades plenty of prospects. Aside from Dominguez. Roderick and Lombard are the only Yankees prospects with great potential.
Spencer Jones snub
Durbin, jones, mayea, beeter,
Lombard and jones are overrated big time
Nicely done Ryan. Now, how is his fielding? Definitely one open IF spot this offseason.
Won’t be ready to play in the bigs this year or next year most likely, but he could be a good defensive 3B because of his arm.
The first martian doesn't look like he can field at all and they don't like him hitting right handed.
