    What baseball greats connect is their mutual love and respect for the sport. For the sake of baseball, we need Ohtani to inspire how beautiful this sport is and the greatness of discipline, gentleman-ship, honor code, apart from the physicality of the sport is equally vital ingredients. To become great in anything in life, one needs to have all these pieces simultaneously developed. It’s perfect to have these great men to teach our future, the kids to understand how respect to oneself and others and diligence is the core of success in all walks of life. Please Pedro be the messenger with your established authority to tell who Shohei Ohtani really is as a person and as a unique talented athlete of our century.

    He’s a world wide star in the “quiet” California market. He doesn’t care about big market fame. He has world wide fame and is the biggest star in baseball. We won’t know anything until that happens.

    People go to and watch baseball games to see Ohtani, and not necessarily to support a team or even actually care about baseball. The best part is when baseball players are impressed about Ohttani, not just fans. That's where it matters because it creates an effect. Players change their behavior when they play against him no matter what money or analysis or team or opinions is in the conversation. It's the Ohtani effect.

    Angels should offer $400 million for 10 years, $40 per year, with 5% Angels team equity. Ohtani will take it. If Angels are not able to offer Ohtani the above, Ohtani should leave Angels.

    • @dorothygale1104
      @dorothygale1104 Год назад +2

      The Angels nor any other team will get away with paying Ohtani only $40M/year for 10 years. Shohei is two top-tier players in one person. He is a #1 pitcher in any rotation and he is top HR & RBI hitter. Now Scherzer & Verlander are getting $40.5M/year and Judge is getting $40M/year. Ohtani is at that level in both pitching and hitting and any team would have to pay $35-40M/year to get a pitcher as good as Ohtani and any team would have to pay $35-$40M/year to get a hitter as good as Ohtani. So, he will get $70-$80M a year for 8-10 years. $40M is way too low for what Ohtani brings to the table.

    • @yaniyuhara8165
      @yaniyuhara8165 Год назад

      @@dorothygale1104 Don’t forget 5% equity added to $400 per 10 year deal in my suggestion. With the highest taxed state of CA in such high tax bracket of income, $40 million per year with 5% equity is far better financially than $70 million per year salary. From the owners point of view, they will be able to minimize “luxury tax” to MLB and keep the current payroll more manageable.

      SHOHEi is not only for his performance in the mound & plate,
      But he is the face of ANGELS and Bring ANGELS name aLL over the worLd mostLy ASiA、we started to know ANGELS team because of SHOHEi, and He has a lot of sponsors and commercials, Brand ambassador.. ANGELS getting a Lot of money from SHOHEi not only in SHOHEi goods and ofcourse the tickets and foods
      saLes aLso related to SHOHEi... salary 500M.- 10years & equity make it 10%,,, ANGELS sales 75% because of SHOHEi...

    • @yaniyuhara8165
      @yaniyuhara8165 Год назад

      @@reimaaki5737 You are right that Shohei has been the face of Angels Franchise & contributing to their business in various ways. However, when you throw numbers as $500 million salary and 10% team equity, you must have better grasp in those numbers. For example, what’s the year Angels had the most attendance at the stadium? It’s 2006, not 2021 nor 2022 when Shohei had remarkable years. In 2006 Angels had 3,406,790 while 1,515,689 in 2021 and 2,457,461 in 2022. The fact of the matter is that baseball is still recovering from COVID. Why 5% equity makes sense ? It’s because 5% team equity is worth about $200 million.

    Americans are probably the most complained about citizens in the world. Say what you will, but when it comes to talent, Americans have zero racism, zero xenophobia and are prepared to give talent what they deserve. And they genuinely hope talent goes where it should go. None of that BS about loyalty and family.

      Nobody is saying Ohtani is as good as Pedro. But he is a #1 pitcher in any current rotation AND he is a top HR & RBI hitter. Ohtani is two top-tier players in one person. That is what makes him so valuable. Any team would have to pay $35-$40M/year to sign a pitcher at Ohtani’s level and they would also have to pay $35-$40M/year to sign a hitter at Ohtani’s level. Shohei is both of those players in one person, which is why he is going to get $70-$80M/year for 8-10 years.
