In today's Philippines travel vlog, we leave El Nido to travel to our new destination that we can hopefully call home for a while. First jump on a tiny plane to fly through Cebu before making it to our final destination where we will be staying in a tiny home for a few days while we get settled in.

Yes, when you said you guys were looking for something away from the city life I knew it would either be Siargao or Bohol. It will be our home in the upcoming months so looking forward to see how you guys settle in.
Nice one, you'll like Siargao. Aussie surfers helped make GL into a surf tourism mecca. Used to go Bali every year but started going to Siargao instead, has the makings of the next Bali with a more laid back vibe and environmental mindset.
Indonesia is not just Bali. You can explore Lombok, Nias, Mentawai, Ambon, Papua, and the other 27,000 islands and internet speed is pretty good in most of the islands. And for the surfing, no one is doubt Bali is Asia's capital for surfing.

Perfect location for you guys as nomads, as youtubers 8 miles from home family and emy and johan called this island their home, surely you will find it homey as well as we went through their journey at the start of the pandemic, ask the locals for the food, and the hidden gems of the island, it is still recovering from the big typhoon that direct hit it but nevertheless enjoy your stay...
Siargao is still recovering from Typhoon Odette, it got absolutely smashed. Hope you are happy here.
Hi Lloyd and Mandy! Glad you are enjoying the Philippines. One piece of advise: Be careful of dogs you get friendly with. Most street dogs in Philippines are NOT vaccinated with Rabies. One Norwegian tourist ( in her 20's ) petted a dog and sadly died as she was back in Norway because she contracted rabies. And I am from the Philippines myself and just advising you both. Other than that, enjoy your stay in beautiful Philippines!
Getting to a budget vacation is to try an underrated places in the Visayas region, Panay, Guimaras, Negros, Siquior, Leyte, Samar are a good island hopping place, If staying longer until Oct ,Bacolod city will celebrate the Masskara Festival, a latin dance bet similar to Rio, it will be a salvo for a 3 year hiatus
Hello Lloyd & Mandy my friend I highly recommend to visit this places in Siargao Islands especially Guyam Islands, Naked Islands & Daku Islands. It has a very stunning pure white sand beaches & crystal clear waters. (Check it out in RUclips) , There are lots of attraction to offer in General Luna, Siargao Islands
- Island Hopping in Naked Islands, Guyam & Daku Islands, it is closest islands in Siargao Mainland with white & palm trees.
- Sugba Lagoon Boat Tour with Kawhagan, it's truly a gem of a spots with 5 meters & 10 meters diving.
- Tagbayanga Cave Pool in Siargao Islands.
- Jeepney Land Tour with Magpupungko Rock Pool & Tayangban Caves, seeing the sights of Siargao as you explore caves, tidepools, palm-tree rope swings & palm tree viewpoint.
- Sohoton Cove Tour, in Socorro, Bucas Grande Islands, Sohoton Cove National Park Your,
- Visit Tak Tak Waterfalls in Sta. Monica, Siargao Islands, cliff jumping, tree jumping & exploration to the top of the falls were the highlights of the adventure.

How to go to Siargao Islands? Just take a flight to Siargao Airport, & take a bus, van or motorcycle ride going to General Luna, Siargao Islands.
Siargao is a good option. Relaxing and more peaceful, not a big touristy area, real island vibes and good food options. Just a reminder that Siargao just went through a big storm ( maybe a hundred year storm, rare) so it still recovering but it is on the rebound. I disagree. Siargao is ok but dirty and too many expats so it's no longer cheap.

Wifi in the Philippines will always be spotty..its an island nation, 7000 plus islands..not all are linked to the grid..

You were in El Nido during rainy season. Siargao Island is dryer this time of year and is coming back nicely from the Typhoon. Some areas still look like the typhoon happened yesterday and others have been built back up. Lots of expats have settled there over the years. It used to be quite touristy (3 Island day trips get quite busy) but now is probably a good time to be there as the island continues to come back. Some of my favorite restaurants are completely gone but expect new investment to come in. When I was there in May it was quite and the coconut trees were just beginning to grow back nicely. Enjoy!

i love siargao, took my breat away when i visted in 2019, the typhoon ravaged it last december, i am glad to see its recovering well, but i think it will take years to bring it back to its previous glory!! enjoy your time in the island

There’s a new attraction in Canijugan Peak. Just a 5 minute climb then there’s a resto at the top and they have cliff overlooking coconut trees and the sea. They also have hot bath in a kawali.
There’s some foreign vloggers living there like 8 miles away from home, Swedish couple vloggers.

Siargao also has a doggie rescue centre for when Mandy gets the 'itch'.
You should visit dipolog city, its near you in mindanao. Sunsets are awesome. Lived there 7 years

The best island for digital nomad in the Philippines in terms of wifi, accommodation, nature and culture is either Boracay or Siargao. But most digimads I know make manila their base and they just fly to different islands since most of them are just 30 mins away.

Yep looks like Siargao is a good island for your needs based on my observation of your needs and like from the Videos I seen :) . Especially for Westerners.
You guys should try Siargao's pan de coco. Lot's of foreign youtubers that already made Siargao there home like Emy & Johan from Sweden and they have a dog sanctuary in Siargao, The Travelling Clat an American who is building his house in Siargao, Eight Miles From Home a British family to name a few.

Haha when the video started I was thinking or maybe hoping it’s Siargao. Then it showed you were in El Nido. And then you were leaving. And when you were stating your reasons for leaving El Nido, in my head I was thinking these guys will enjoy Siargao more. Then surprise surprise hahaha.
