Just hoping not the head , never overheated dd15 650k also changed thermostat and both radiator caps what’s easiest way to check head issue?
Also no water in oil, in the past had injector cuff issue which may have caused the discolrization on the new reservoir - will do gases test in a few days when i get truck back from springs bushing job fix

Lot of people has egr.cooler failure.. I don't know exactly why because I have 10 of those truck and never had an issue with a egr cooler, knock on wood. I also do coolant changes and flush. I used deionized water and good ELC. I know this practice helps with oil cooler module corrosion. My coolant filters are always clean with no sign of trouble.
What would cause the coolant reservoir to be 1-2” below the minimum on a DD13 but then when you run the truck and just idle it for 20 minutes it goes back up to normal level?
Have a 2009 Freightliner B2. Coolant loss is close to what this person has in the video according to the driver. I can't find any external leaks. It's a 6.7 Cummins. Oil doesn't look like it's mixed with the coolant. Right now I can't get the engine to crank. They didnt complain of starting issues before so I thought it was unrelated. I changed starter and batteries. Barely turns engine like when valves are out of adjustment on a riding mower, which makes me wonder if it's, sort of hydro locked. I now work on a fleet of school buses but Im a foreign car specialist and these were thrown on me because not many can troubleshoot in my shop. How can I see if there's coolant in the cylinders? Pull glow plugs would be the first thing I'd guess, right? I was going to try and turn the motor over by hand first but the crank is held on by like 6 or 8 small bolts and not a center bolt like gasser balancers. Thanks.

Very important tip, my oil level is raising. But it's not changing the color of the oil ? I just started driving this truck last week and it has already gone through 7 gallons with no visible signs of leaking, ACCEPT FOR RAISING OIL LEVEL !!! but the oil is NOT milky colored still black and thin !!, Thanks for this. More of it could be going in the combustion chamber than of oil galleys of the block. So basically when the Piston goes down it's sucking in coolant. Or it might not be in the oil galleys at all and coolant is sitting on top of the piston and working its way past the rings when cold. There's 10 to 12 gallons of oil in your engine so only if a little coolant is getting past it might not necessarily make it milky until a few more gallons of coolant gets in your oil. Definitely get it fixed soon as possible and go online and find a reputable oil analysis website. For sample from your oil and send it to them. I personally use testoil.com
Hello i did pressure test there is was no leak found. the engine is not get overheating just lose antifreeze on reservoir tank 2 quarter around 1200 miles the EGR is clean no antifreeze inside. Any recommendation. thanks

I’m having ignition issues sometimes the truck starts with key but most days the truck has to be started with switch that’s attached to starter can you all do a vid on how to diag a bad starter
I am assuming you use a Stant pressure tester. Do you have the adapter part number? The Stant web site lists adapter part number 12032 but it is too big to fit in the hole.
Thank you. I am going through about a quart of coolant a month. I am suspecting the heater core because occasionally I get a slight coolant smell inside the cab. I try to do all my work myself because I can't afford the down time of taking it to the shop. Between you and Francisco Amaya I have been able to do the majority of my repairs myself.

I got a cascadia dd13 2014 there is water in fuel tanks chowing on my dashboard and the truck breakdown and won’t start I towed to the Michanic he said this is a electrical issue so he replaced the electric engine harness and 2 sensor and the ecm I took it for A drive test I broke down again have you any idea what is the issue. Can this happen on the cummins X15? Are you saying the hot side of the EGR coolant should have no coolant and that if you are losing coolant it might be going to the hot side of the EGR (where it is not supposed to be)?
Welp no visible leak on a 2020 freight-liner, I tried some heavy duty coolant sealers but still needing to top it off a little at the end of the week. It has 331k miles on it and the company sells em around 400k. It runs fantastic besides for the coolant loss. Should i even bother trying to get the company to fix it, waste a week without pay. Or should i just run it?
My 16 cascadia is leaking puddles on the ground. Its visually seeing it from the right side of the motor on top. Leaks too low then the stop light and check engine light starts flashing on dash, then the engine cuts off to protect it. I fill up the coolant reservoir then crank her up again. I'm having to add coolant once or twice a day. This just started 3 days ago. Guess it's not the EGR but any idea what's wrong? Thanks!
I got a 2015 dd 13, getting coolant into exhaust. Replaced egr cooler, went from losing 2 gallons a day to a gallon a week. I removed exhaust pipe from turbo it's dry but there's coolant in exhaust is it possible for doser valve to Crack and leak coolant into exhaust?
Hey anyone know why the coolant goes down on the surge tank when you accelerate DD13? Than when you let go of the throttle the coolant rises back in the surge tank? It literally goes below min and than back to max when you let go of the petal... once a week we have to add half of gallon...No egr leak... Please help anything ideas helps
I Have Same issue with my 2019 Cascadia dd15. I take to the dealership they take 10 days and they said coolant hoses are not good. So they replace it but after a week more worst truck takes one-gallon coolant in a week. It's just disappeared no leaks also check the oil cap but I don’t see any coolant mix with oil. Could you please suggest me what should i do . I can bring the truck to you guys if you fix it in 2 days, please let me know Thanks

Got a D60 12.7. It’s running hot. If I pull a load with a little weight to it up the bridge, the temp gage reads 210/220. If it rains, the temp goes down and looks good. Does it sound like low coolant, or clogged radiator?

My truck is 2012 freightliner Cascadia shifts early on 8th, 9th and 10th gear and the RPM drops to 1000 even I changed the transmission.

Diesel engines will have some lag but if you suspect power loss than I would recommend having truck checked out.

What did the cold side look like? Was it just sooty?

How many miles? Has the radiator been serviced before? I would service the coolant system and inspect for proper cooling
