      Oh for those days. I was just starting work, had money in my pocket, Wrangler and Levi reigned supreme. Music in all its genres at the time was brilliant. Rock was my preference. Rainbow, Purple, Priest, Lizzy, Zep and oh so many giants of the time. Life seemed good then. Cheap beer, Cheap Records. Oh for a Tardis to take me back for a few days, away from the crap of these Modern times.

    If you have Rising Deluxe, there is a version of Stargazer with a 1 minute intro by Tony that is mind blowing. Why that wasn’t on the original album I’ll never know.

    • @tonycarey825
      @tonycarey825 Год назад +47

      I'll answer this one, Lou - I'd forgotten that. Two Minimoog intros on a 6-song record would've been too much. Although that wasn't my decision to make, I agreed with it. I DID do a keyboard intro when we played the song live. I was as surprised as anyone to hear it resurrected on the Deluxe version.

      I missed out on the 1st issue of the "Deluxe" version, but it just got reissued a couple months ago and I'm happy to say I finally got it. I can just listen to that intro over and over. Wish they would've included it from the start. Thanks for all the fantastic work, Tony! Definitely one of the most influential albums in my life.

      @@tonycarey825 Yes, I forgot the length of vinyl albums back then. I did see you live with Rainbow in NYC on a rainy night in November 1975 at The Beacon Theater. First Rainbow show in NY, I believe. I was 16 then, so the fact that at 63 years old today I still remember that it rained that night, should tell you what an impression that concert made on me. I thought that lineup was very special because the caliber of musicianship was extremely high and it never equalled that level again after you left. Just as an aside, it's the same way I feel about Tull with John Glascock on the bass. Peace.
