What's the point of even owning a school/building with no security system? This puts a lot of people in danger.
Initial step is good to have security.

There is reason why postgraduates are called resident trainees, and interns are called house surgeons, because we spend most of our time in the hospital and are available to take care of our patients at all times!!
We take care of public health 24x7, handle emergencies, be it CRP, performing emergency surgeries, or delivering babies at the middle of the night! We understand the importance of life, and we are available to use our full knowledge and skills even at 3am in the night!
On toes the whole day, taking high stakes decisions, being compassionate and empathetic to our patients takes much more than one can imagine.
We help the government to provide public health services, we are help them save lives. However, we have no rights to our own safety and well-being (or may be just ‘being’, the ‘well’ is too far a goal)!
II dont know your gender or identity but sincerely as a normal citizen from Gujarat I wish to know the truth of this incident happened.. If u r from kolkata, can u share some true light on the incident. Why this incident has taken place in such horrific way and why the culprits are not behind the bars still now? Why CBI is so slow to arrest the true culprits? Culprits are doctors or anyone else? Hope u shed some light on the case.
Every women should be protected and Respected. Its the duty of every man. Parents should teach this to their sons. 😢

Dehradun one, is an orphaned minor, only aged 16-17. Where accused are inter-state bus driver, conductor and ticket checker, it's a case of gang Rape.

Firstly it is not about junior residents but also senior residents & other female medical staff who are on night duty.

The thing that can be concluded is that instead of only protesting every time for acuise’s death panelty the better police investigation and faster court decisions. Coz the criminals are although aware of the consequences after the crime, but they know how it takes years to get convicted 😭

I stayed in a medical college hostel 45 yrs back. No security and one house keeper was there. She only looked after room allotment and house keeping. Gate closed after 1 am after library closed. It was the time technology was not advanced, but we were safe
Things also used to happen and in fact, it happened even more. But there was no internet.
Moral education required for both boys and girls
God, instead of temporary solutions like security.. we seriously need a permanent solution like training and educating the youth men.. giving the basic knowledge that there is a difference between a man and a fking wolf..

I was the third Generation from my family in a reputed medical College in Kolkata. All 3 generations witnessed and suffered due to the kack of basic facilties like toilets at the Hospital. It only got worse with time.
Shagufta , it's very natural for me to feel happy seeing you in this video after so many years , but pride ,love all such emotions gave way to worries and anxieties for junior doctors like you ! We are really in a state of uncertainties and psychological trauma ! Have faith in Almighty, who can only save us from this delirious decadence ! My brave children, we are with you !
That's the situation all over India, even our college, hostel and hospital were the same.... Patient's attendant had gathered others to attack on me, I ran away from the ward, I had no one at the time, no SR, no co intern, no security guard.... Once I was safe I reported to my SR... And another time the female Ward's doctor room was occupied and I was asked to stay in the male Ward's doctor room, I simply swiped the rooms and the room door was pushed open at 2am at night in the female ward! Nowhere is it safe for us... Yet, yes we're empowered women
there is no proper place for docs to rest at 36hr shifts and they just have to put their heads down on classroom desks and sometimes they are so drained, that they have to rest on beds. Its so disheartening to see horrible things happen to a doctor, i was literally crying when i saw the victims mom's interview

It's enough & high time now ki ab har keemat pr humari safety ensure ki jaye. Itna dar, itne pressure me koi future bnane ki kaise soche, ghar workplace roads crowded place harrrr jagah women safety ensure karni hi hogi is society ke aadmiyon ko aur government ko.
Just imagine how many things in this country are messed up we realise only after any massive incident that triggers us. No matters it's the porshe case,sandeshkhali,nirbhaya case and then this the DEMON case. India has been made a living hell.
Does any Govt Hospital in any state have functioning doors, latches, rooms, bathrooms etc etc for anyone?
Beds, cots , chairs are broken , unusable or thrown in a corner , lockers are broken...in my PG residency program i never rested because roach infested & leaky rooms were all we got.

Same. When I stayed in my bangalore engineering hostel the security was so tight. We had to walk every night upto boys hostel as canteen was attached to boys hostel and we were not allowed to walk whenever we wanted after 8.
We were taken in line at 8:30 by 2 security guards and 2 female guards. No boys allowed in canteen at that time.
At that time I felt like a prisoner but my department HOD said "Precaution is better, it's OK to feel like prison but you are safe that's all matters. I trust my students but I don't garunteen on their behavior"
If a country cannot protect even the well educated professional ladies like doctors
what the situation of unprivileged females. 😢
The fact that it’s a “government” hospital/college
The sole reason for this type of administration is PGI chandigarh, from where that principal did his practice before, they learn extremely toxic culture, politics,partiality etc. 24- 36 hr duty is very common for doctors here and whoever trains here and reaches higher positions somewhere will spit that toxicity on their juniors and other lower representatives, some extremely talented and good people are badly suffering here

In West Bengal we have super speciality 10 storied hospitals with no specialist doctors & MRI test facilities.
Compared to that ... All the medical Colleges in Assam are much much safer
There's soo much safety in south India .
Law and order should bring laws to protect woman and young girls and boys.
Feels almost no politician wants woman safety in india including woman in politics. I havent heard any woman politicians voice .
And to think that this is a government hospital. All government institutions are in this condition while the state is giving unnecessary free handouts to people. Please put precious taxpayer money to better use!

Even if we have DDR in our ward, they are always locked. Forget about sleeping/ resting during night shifts, we don’t even have basic amenities like washrooms/ facilities available for ourselves during night duty since the DDRs are always locked at night.

When v take duties, v don't hv rooms to sleep, we end up sleepn in patient beds(free ones) till v recieve d nxt call ..was a usual pattern

This is why we are a third world nation. Absolutely shameful that in the year 2024 such brutality can be afflicted on a young Lady Doctor. And from the aftermath of this crime it is evident that some form of cover up is being attempted, which leads to the conclusion that powerful men may be involved in this horrific crime. To top it, we now have the CBI investigating, which from past history one can conclude that this whole case will be botched and swept under the carpet. The way the Director of the Hospital was transferred out immediately to another Hospital reeks of political collusion. The truth may never be known. India is one of the most dangerous country for Women. Tourists world wide should pay heed to this.

1. Why should only boys sacrifice their sleep, don't boys have a personal and family life?
2. Medical colleges have less than 30% boys nowadays. Boys won't be sufficient to cover for night shifts and girls will overcrowd day shifts.
3. Assaults on HCPs and rapes have been occurring in broad daylight too. Night can't be an excuse for rape.
