Parisians from the Left and the Right protested on Wednesday evening (6/3) against the string of terrorism attacks in Israel that have killed at least 60 people. Political leaders from the Socialist Party, Communist Party, the centre-right RPR party of President Jacques Chirac and the Green Party called on their members to join in silent protest at the Place de Trocadero, in sight of the Eiffel Tower. The protest, which was organized by French Jewish groups, drew thousands of people who gathered with flowers and candles. At one point, some of the demonstrators burned a Palestinian flag.
