I really like Floor, but in Nightwish songs... Tarja does it better, is just an obviuos fact. She gets it thinner, reach any high note, better than Floor.
@@LigeiaNoire Yeah, I just wasn't sure in what respect is she "one of a kind". Actually every single person in the world is one of a kind, but when talking about these metal singers, I'm not sure what exactly you meant.
I love both singers but tarja does a better job when talking about high soprano notes. no wonder she has so many fans all around the world and still makes a lot of money with her music.
Lol tarja is much better at this, its funny how she can hits those notes while dancing around xD this is not floor forte but she's obviously an amazing singer too

Of course Tarja has to be more polished in operatic singing. That's what she was trained in. Nevertheless, Floor is great in her own right as a singer.
+Tua Ya Pek "Tarja has to be more polished in operatic singing." It's true Tarja may have more training. However, the difference here is more than just "polished". In these examples, the contrast is stark and obvious.
+Hope Bateman The truth is the amount of training Tarja may or may not have is irrelevant. The reason Tarja has more training is because she continued her studies even after having success with nightwish. That's not a valid reason to underestimate or dismiss her skills or accomplishments. In fact, I'd argue it's just the opposite. This actually tells us something about her character. Think about it. As nightwish started to become more and more successful and she made more and more money, It would have been really easy for her to simply rest on her laurels and say to herself, "I'm a successful rock star, why do I need to continue my studies". However, she clearly did not do this but instead continued to work hard on both her career and her studies. That shows us that she must be a very committed and disciplined individual. It also tells us she must love her music more than just making money, as she clearly didn't need to continue her studies to make more money at this point. Furthermore, it doesn't fit with the diva like image attributed to her by her former band mates. Anyway, the fact that she's worked hard to get where she is in terms of abilities is all the more reason we should appreciate what she's accomplished.
@@stefanl5183 but what did Tarja continue her studies in??? Considering her difficulty belting, growling, and singing anything that's not opera, she would have been best off training in vocal techniques she was unfamiliar with using, to make her a better all-round performer for the band. Studying opera was only going to make her better at opera, which restricted NW to those type of songs. But her extra training didn't always show either. She regularly looked stiff and tense, which made her sound shrill. Look up Phantom of the Opera, Rock in Rio 2011. It makes me cringe. Sure the sound isn't the best, but the opening vocals don't sound like someone who has had extensive opera training, or even extensive vocal training.
@@tarjaturunenhasmyheart3652 Well, Tarja is better for operatic style. She basically doesn't sing anything else. Or at least she didn't while with Nightwish. She is closer to an opera singer. Floor, on the other hand, is a genuine metal singer who can growl, belt, plus she can also sing operatic, although not as much as Tarja or perhaps Dianne. All three are my favs. And maybe Simone is the fourth.
I think this video is an excellent comparison of the difference in the head voice of these two vocalist. It's true Floor is a good rock singer and she can use her chest voice quite well, but clearly when it comes to using her head voice Tarja is on a whole new level and this comparison shows it without any doubt. Another good example of Tarja's abilities would be her performance of Passion and the Opera from the warm up concerts. Of course we couldn't really do a "comparison" there because Floor doesn't even attempt that one.
Indeed. And I'm quite annoyed at some self-righteous fools who can only rebutt with Ad Hominem and keep on deviating from the main topic (Tarja and Floor's operatic singing) because they have nothing sensible to say..
+Stefan L Hey Stefan... I have a good idea... Why don't you tell your beloved Tarja to sing opera... Because just as you said she is good in head register / operatic voice... only... while to be a rock/metal singer someone needs more than that... And Floor, she can do any aspect for rock/metal singing, from head voice, chest voice, growl, scream, soft voice and etc...
Greg The Eagle that's why she is a symphonic metal singer, she can sing opera in metal dude .. what you are saying is that Floor belongs to the mainstream area of rock singing ... not very polite if you ask me
Greg The Eagle Tarja has 3 classical álbumes and she make a great Job in there, Tarja make both classical and metal 'cause metal as great and metal gives her money, Many opera singers dont have enoght money like Tarja actually xD
Saludos!!
OK Floor is so good and gorgeous takes the songs and sing them in her own style, she will stay in your mind and Tarja she´s epic, magic and pure, give feelings that willl stay in your heart and soul forever.
+Epictemptation7 Yeah, flawless victory for Tarja in this comparison but I dare her to try and sing Ghost River or Weak Fantasy. ;) Floor even trumps Tarja in other (non operatic) parts of these same songs you used. I mean... After watching this video I was thinking for a while and couldn't come up with a way to compare them which would be SOMEWHAT fair for both.
+Alexander S Floor does not trump over Tarja. Yes she is a better belter than Floor but Tarja's belting isn't bad, she rarely strains, goes off pitch, goes thin and throaty like Floor constantly does.
Alexander S Floor is one of the most versatile singers today (Rock/Metal) Their new Album (Endless Forms Most Beautiful) proves that. Also.....Band's popularity has risen to new heights now. Floor-effect......you see.
+Greg The Eagle while in most of the parts floor sings flat and out of breath... in this case Tarja stands better. But there are better than tarja: Lori Lewis, Bridget Fogle, Dianne from Xandria, Gaby Kos and many more.
+Boromirka Give me the exact moment in where, in this video, Floor sings flat and out of breath... just as I did before to Tarja... Do you know that accusing in general without proving is nonsense?
For stargazers honestly floor could do an incredible rendition if she would just belt it out and not try to sing it classically, I in no way can hit those notes, but if I'm belting it I can definitely sing the song in my own way, and floor is a vocal powerhouse, she should give it a shot
Floor's range go up to E6-F6, and it has been recorded live too (Romantice). Her timbre is different from Tarja's, kind of not so piercing, so it doesn't always sound as high. I've heard both of them live, and not only with NW and Floor wins, even in high notes. I've heard her sing high notes in such a clarity and strength that it was just a full-body shiver, never happened with Tarja. Not in a NW song, however.
They both are almost perfect and very melodic but by my guess Tarja gives more contrast to metal sound of Nightwish. And there's well known principle of design named "contrast" which is one of 4 basic principles that makes it more powerful and perceptive.
+Smith Leslie Charles Yeah... Tarja is Queen of the Queens... I agree with you... hahahaha... And clearly she is not my queen, because I'm not one of the queens...
Tarja forever.
I am grateful that Nightwish can now return to an operatic style now that they have Floor. It is good to hear the old songs return to the set list (whereas Anette could not handle them). So many people argue who is better, Tarja or Floor, but fail to realize it takes a special singer to even attempt, let alone pull off Tarja songs. Plus Floor's voice is super versatile for every genre and is through and through a metal singer. Tarja's opera voice has an edge, but I am very happy that Floor is in Nightwish and hopefully will someday be better utilized than on EFMB.
I agree. EFMB was very laidback compared to every other NW album, Tuomas didn't take advantage of Floor's voice at all and that's a shame. Don't get me wrong it must be hard to write an album that can top masterpieces like Century Child and Once. In my opinion I believe Floor can't pull off singing Tarja's song as technical as Tarja did (especially her older catalog w/NW) but she can certainly make them work for her own voice which would be interesting to hear.
@@epictemptation7350 Floor nails them. I've heard Floor live now 5-6 times (not all with NW) since she joined NW, and I don't miss Tarja at all. She is actually technically better, because she can switch between different styles within a song, most singers don't even sing opera and pop on the same day because changing the position of one's vocal chords etc is extremely difficult. EFMB tour was great, I was in Tampere for that one, still among top 3 concerts I've ever been to. Floor variest her style more, so it's not just classical. She could do it, just check out her singing Ave Maria with marco, Puccini aria, Vilja Lied or Phantom of the Opera with Henk Poort. Or some of that older After Forever stuff. Can't wait for the next album, because Floor has already said the material was a bit challenging and they are doing something they've never done before....
Oh I've a;ways hated Floor's "operatic" vocals, sound like someone mock-imitating an actual classical voice. Even Simone of the mouse-like voice Simons does them better.
+Enceos And the conclusion is??... Let me guess... Floor sing rock, Tarja sing opera... Am I right? But, one more question for you... Floor studied opera also... so?
Greg The Eagle Perfect blend ) but Phantom of the Opera's last notes requre a very high level of operatic skills. Floor has to reach the perfection yet.
+Enceos I agree with you... if you said Floor is not as good as Tarja in operatic singing... Her greatness is in her versatility... she could sing any styles/genres of music good (not as perfect as people who focuses in one style only, as Tarja in opera style), but added them all her skills of singing, she is far way in the front of Tarja...

Finally this video is back up! This is my favorite comparison video between the two, because they both can sing songs really well. Don't make it private again, thanks!
GamerDares wins She fills a room with her voice and these days she can sing very reasonably very difficult arias for a chamber singer like her, rusalka, Vilja, blut nur or Herr Marquis not to mention stargazers or slaying the dreamer that are stellar these days. Have you seen Tarja live?
I love both ladies and think Nightwish is lucky to have Floor. With that being said, without going into all the details, just focusing on the whole of what each singer brings when they perform: Floor sings like a girl, Tarja sings like a woman. That is the difference between them. Floor sounds like a really good pop singer doing metal. Tarja sounds like something else, a true woman, and as man, my DNA connects to Tarja's voice and not as much to Floor's. It's not scientific, but art is not about science, it is about feeling. Tarja gives me that funny feeling inside that Floor does not. I would want to date Floor, but I would want to enshrine Tarja. That's the difference in their voices to me.
I do not know what it is the exact english definition for the word "engolado" (spanish) maybe swallowed??, i'm not sure. The version of Stargazers by Floor Jansen is terribly "engolado", I can not understand anything she sings :/
Timothy X very true although i prefer old nightwish with Tarja but floor is a great singer too he adapted in 48 hours and put a different version for tarja and annett
tarja trained opera for all her life and specializes in only that, floor only practiced it for a short time, she mainly focused on rock/metal singing. Anyone who's tried singing these songs can tell it's amazing floor can already sing the songs tarja did and consistently hit the notes, plus floor is a lot more diverse. The comparison is a bit unfair, it's like comparing Steve Vai and Tommy Emmanuel as guitarists and only compare on steve vai's songs. Neither of them can play the other but they're both legends and you definitely can't say Tommy isn't as good as steve. They simply specialize in different things. basically, this video is pointless, obviously Tarja is going to win this
How can Tarja be more versatile when she only sings in operatic style? That makes zero sense... Floor literally sings anything, from high belts to metal growls, and yes, even operatic style.
Tarja is first singer who got me into operatic metal and she is incredible woman! Floor also sounds incredible with her operatic voice. Her voice sounds more operatic in her fromer bands After Forever and ReVamp and for me Floor's best stuff came from those bands and Tarja era Nightwish is best line up of band's history. ❤ I love them both and I don't think which one sings better. 😊
Floor should or learn singing classically or drop it. No vibrato, bad breathing.... trying to sing everything lowest and sounds like old gramophone or infamous Dragana. Floor is good at belting, but classical singing please no. And please no more singing O mio Babbino caro- pure butchery...
+Elämän Vettä Definitely, still she is a little bit better in classical singing (classical =/= opera) than floor. however not really good even in metal.
GamerDares wins Nonsense. Tarja would not survive in the opera world, and _The Range Place_ analyzed both Tarja and Floor's range. *Floor has a wider range than Tarja.* _Floor's range: C3-F6 (3.5 octaves)_ _Tarja's range: F3 to G#6 (3 octaves, 1.5 notes)_ Check out Anette Olzon's range! _Annette Olzon: D3 to Bb6 (3 octaves, 4.5 notes)_ *Those are the facts. Both have great control. Tarja has better sound than Floor, but Floor is not overdoing it as Tarja does. You must give respect to Floor for singing songs in her own style and not being a copy and you must respect Tarja because without her all these Nightwish songs would never be made.
I've never been a fan of Tarja's voice. It's just too much for me. HOWEVER. I give her mad props for her skills in opera singing. That End of an Era performance of Phantom of the Opera is vocally the best modern day metal version. that end note was beautiful
So basically Tarja is better in her head voice, sure, but when it comes to chest voice or anywhere between the two...unless you are deaf you got to realise Floor's better. Only if Nightwish had both of them at the same time, that would be as far as the band gets in this life :)
Tarja's chest voice sounds bad. Maybe it's professional but still bad timbre. Floor sounds better. Tarja should stick to head voice. Tarja's head voice sounds better and of course is more developed than Floor's. Floor should stick to chest voice. Oh if only..
Both of them have operatic voice, bud Tarja is Tarja! Floor has beautiful voice, but Tarja seems more relaxed, especially high notes (see The Phantom - I thing Tarja could sing a little bit higher, but Floor hit the ceiling of her vocal power and range). Tarja is nr. 1 for me, but Floor did very, very great job!
I hate how people talk how they did not like Tarja era because of her opera style. First NW is symphonic metal so that means a lot of opera and if you don't like opera you shouldn't be into that style. And second that they couldn't understand words when she sings high notes and stuff. But if you sing opera properly no one can understand you hahaha. I mean take stargazers for example. I like Tarja style better. It is so unique and looks like it comes easy to her. But Floor is also amazing. She is trying hard and gives 100%.
+Евгений Сорокин " She sings in one step lower other nightwish song" This is absolutely true. Yet for some reason a lot of nightwish fans don't notice it. Anyway, it shows that a lot of people simply don't have an ear capable of discerning the difference. That's okay but those people shouldn't proclaim floor is as good simply because they lack the ear to discern perfect pitch.
+Stefan L You should know that the person deciding that is Tuomas, not Floor. They want to take a step away from Tarja, plus, since some years ago, their tuning is in a low key.
+geelicon The key is lowered so Emppu doesn't have to bring a second guitar along on the tour. It doesn't have anything to do with Floor. *This is how it was explained by a guitar player...* "Emppu's guitar is locked into D standard tuning (what 99% of their set list is played in with D, G, C, F, A, D), a whole step down from E standard (which is what Stargazers is played in with E, A, D, G, B, E). Tuning a whole step up and back down on a guitar like his requires screw drivers and is very time consuming. It is NOT PRACTICAL to tune up to E standard, nor carry around a whole other guitar for one song."
Floor's operatic vocals are sounding better on the EFMB tour. Btw there's an error in you description... it should read: Comparing the way the *vocal powerhouse* Floor sings her head voice (operatic voice) compared to the vocal powerhouse Tarja.
+SSBMsounds Floor's operatic voice was stronger with her days with AF. Just listen to Dreamlight, Floor can belt her ass off and transition to a rich operatic head voice without breaking a sweat.
+Epictemptation7 Lol After Forever is my favourite band so I know all about her skills back in the day. I mean her operatic vocals are sounding better on this tour than how they were on the Imaginaerum tour.
For the band, Nightwish..Floor is the best thing that ever happened to them. I could never quite embrace the band before, I thought Tarja couldn`t carry the music and frankly sometimes sang way off key..and Anette was just wrong all together. Floor pieced this band together with her voice, strong, clear, clean ( she never misses a note) and with an amazing range!! She also conveys their music and lyrics so well together with the rest of this amazing and talented band! With Floor, Nightwish gained a new fan in me. Now I can`t get enough
With a switch of clips, it would swing the other way. Towards the end of Tarja's time in Nightwish she started getting lazy and wishywashy with some songs, and Floor is incredible with some songs in places where Tarja never dared. It really depends on which video clips you want to pull up.
I see a lot of comments about wich singer is better but lets not forget that Tuomas write the songs with the singer in mind... With Tarja he wrote it all on her vocal range so when Floor or Annette must sing older songs it is true that Tarja nails it Elán is perfectly written for Floor so if Tarja have to sing that i think people prefer Floor singing it (Excuse my English)
Okay, I adore Floor. She's amazing, but Tarja slays her in the "opera" department. Especially when it comes to Stargazers.
Almost as equal but of course Tarja is/was Tarja in the opera dept.
I agree she does better in the opera voice, but now let's hear her growl.

+Tua Ya Pek That's true.
+Tua Ya Pek "Tarja has to be more polished in operatic singing."
It's true Tarja may have more training. However, the difference here is more than just "polished". In these examples, the contrast is stark and obvious.
+Hope Bateman
The truth is the amount of training Tarja may or may not have is irrelevant.
***** I don't give a shit, because later today, I am going to see Nightwish live, since they're already here in my country.
No comparison point. Tarja has the best voice and she does it much better. Floor gives her best, but she has another style.
There are much better recordings than these shitty videos made with cell phones
ruclips.net/video/ym1Wc5dmUYc/видео.html
@@cancelled_user Tarja is still better tho. It's not just the recordings lmao
+Stefan L
Hey Stefan...
Are you familiar with Floors work in After Forever?
I like both ladies, a lot! But Tarja wins this battle 6-0
6:0 for Floor! Sorry
@@wintersun158 wym sorry? Youre the only one to say that and still that is a lie by you
Saludos!!
Tarja Turunen is too much superior, there's nothing to talk...
I love Floor but her Stargazers and The Siren.... no, just no.
Dursun Nar Same goes to Wishmaster Floor sounded horrible
Her stargazer is amazing !
OK Floor is so good and gorgeous takes the songs and sing them in her own style, she will stay in your mind and Tarja she´s epic, magic and pure, give feelings that willl stay in your heart and soul forever.
Tarja Soile Susanna Turunen....
The Best 👑
The Operatic Area is clearly Tarjas! But Floor is more versatile. Tarjas Siren sound sounds bit better
+GothicDivine "Versatile" does not equal better singing.
Epictemptation7 noone said that! btw its all a matter of taste ;)
Alexander S
Floor is one of the most versatile singers today (Rock/Metal)
Their new Album (Endless Forms Most Beautiful) proves that.
Also.....Band's popularity has risen to new heights now.
Floor-effect......you see.
''Tarrrrrrria... Flawless Victory'' xDDDD
+Manuel Rojas
Hahahaha... so funny comment if I compare with the fact that Tarja has choked at 0:22 whilst Floor easily did the same part...
+Greg The Eagle while in most of the parts floor sings flat and out of breath... in this case Tarja stands better. But there are better than tarja: Lori Lewis, Bridget Fogle, Dianne from Xandria, Gaby Kos and many more.
+Boromirka
Give me the exact moment in where, in this video, Floor sings flat and out of breath... just as I did before to Tarja... Do you know that accusing in general without proving is nonsense?
+Boromirka Lmao none of them are technically better than Tarja.
+Greg The Eagle Floor isn't out of breath or flat on any of these videos. They are just thin and pitchy.
Tarja ♡
Floor is fantastic but I miss Tarja. Tarja was just unbeatable.
Tarja wins of course!
Nein
Tarja wins for sure
@@georg3607 Write english it's ok.
I love Floor too but Tarja is unbeatable!! Queen of the Queens!!!!
+Smith Leslie Charles
Yeah... Tarja is Queen of the Queens... I agree with you... hahahaha...
And clearly she is not my queen, because I'm not one of the queens...
Tarja is obviously better...but the old nightwish songs were composed for Tarja's voice, of course Tarja carries them better
+Spirit of God
Not all of it... Some old songs were sung better by Floor...
Tarja forever.
Tarja the Queen!!!
We had to remember that the old songs was written especially for Tarja’s voice ... Tarja is better than Floor singing old songs .
Tarja is the Queen of the Czech Republic! ❤❤
I Love much Tarja turunen
Oh I've a;ways hated Floor's "operatic" vocals, sound like someone mock-imitating an actual classical voice.
Even Simone of the mouse-like voice Simons does them better.

Floor studied rock, Tarja studied opera. Enough said.

And the conclusion is??...
+Enceos
I agree with you... if you said Floor is not as good as Tarja in operatic singing... Her greatness is in her versatility... she could sing any styles/genres of music good (not as perfect as people who focuses in one style only, as Tarja in opera style), but added them all her skills of singing, she is far way in the front of Tarja...
Greg The Eagle Yep, that's why I adore her )

She fills a room with her voice and these days she can sing very reasonably very difficult arias for a chamber singer like her, rusalka, Vilja, blut nur or Herr Marquis not to mention stargazers or slaying the dreamer that are stellar these days. Have you seen Tarja live?
Ligeia Noire No I've never seen them live, never will now sadly i guess 😢

Tarja 😍😍😍
I love both ladies and think Nightwish is lucky to have Floor.
With that being said, without going into all the details, just focusing on the whole of what each singer brings when they perform:
Floor sings like a girl, Tarja sings like a woman.
Tarja Turunen is the Best
Only Tarja and Marco were made to sing together, unfortunately the Nightwish without Tarja lost so much.
Tarja №1 !
Tarja all the way.
Tarja 100%
Tarja is the best one.
I do not know what it is the exact english definition for the word "engolado" (spanish) maybe swallowed??, i'm not sure. The version of Stargazers by Floor Jansen is terribly "engolado", I can not understand anything she sings :/
I think it's amazing how floor stepped in and nightwish was still nightwish.. both great performers and both were right for the band at their time.
Tarja, celestial siren!

Too bad Angela quit singing, liked her best
Tarja is first singer who got me into operatic metal and she is incredible woman! Floor also sounds incredible with her operatic voice. Her voice sounds more operatic in her fromer bands After Forever and ReVamp and for me Floor's best stuff came from those bands and Tarja era Nightwish is best line up of band's history. ❤
I love them both and I don't think which one sings better. 😊
The only one which I love more by Floor here is "Ghost Love Score." Tarja is incredible!
Tarja super
Both of them ara amazing !!
Floor should or learn singing classically or drop it. No vibrato, bad breathing.... trying to sing everything lowest and sounds like old gramophone or infamous Dragana. Floor is good at belting, but classical singing please no. And please no more singing O mio Babbino caro- pure butchery...
+Boromirka
Tarja is not better. Both women are excellent for Metal, but would not survive in the opera world.
+Elämän Vettä Definitely, still she is a little bit better in classical singing (classical =/= opera) than floor. however not really good even in metal.

Nonsense. Tarja would not survive in the opera world, and _The Range Place_ analyzed both Tarja and Floor's range. *Floor has a wider range than Tarja.*
_Floor's range: C3-F6 (3.5 octaves)_
_Tarja's range: F3 to G#6 (3 octaves, 1.5 notes)_
Check out Anette Olzon's range!
_Annette Olzon: D3 to Bb6 (3 octaves, 4.5 notes)_
*Those are the facts. Does a wider vocal range make a singer better? NO!*
*Does Tarja have a unique beauty in her voice? YES!*
*Does Floor Jansen have an incredible versatility? YES!*
Elämän Vettä that's wrong.
Who is the range place and what is their credibility?

Tomorrow is Tarja´s birthday,so let´s celebrate this incredible singer, the greatest finnish Diva,an icon on Opera and female fronted metal band.Cheers dear goddess of singing!
This video is a little old, registering A3-F6,on past Nightwish times, when you can hear cleary she was a Lyrical mezzo-soprano as teenager, but with classical training, she moved to soprano. She was very young when this recording were made, but shows an incredible technics and skills, from high to low notes.
This is the most accepted video about Tarja´s vocal range, registering F3-Ab6 and exalting all power of her head voice, but her chest low notes are also incredible.
This video shows a controverted range, registering C#3-B5-(G#¨6),not so accepted, but I like to include it because all visions are good for discuss.Watch it and take your own conclusions.
“The Phantom of the Opera” was written for the fairy voice of Sarah Brightman, but the strong Spinto voice of Tarja gave a new shine to that wristles registers,a metalical voice with the weight of Drama. If you like high notes, enjoy!

What's the difference between an alto singer and every other alto related voice range like contralto and deep alto etc..
Great question!
An Alto singer has a special voice, with a little rough, reaching notes lower than a Mezzo or a Soprano.
But not every Alto is the same!
A Deep Alto, reaches real low notes and have an androgynous timbre like Tony Braxton or Cher.
A Lyric Alto sometimes is confused with Mezzo-Soprano because reach higher notes but keep that characteristics of Alto.

Tony Montana she's more versatile than Floor.
Both have great control. Tarja has better sound than Floor, but Floor is not overdoing it as Tarja does. You must give respect to Floor for singing songs in her own style and not being a copy and you must respect Tarja because without her all these Nightwish songs would never be made.
Tarja obvio 😍
I love both singers ♡
Tarja, Tarja, Tarja
I've never been a fan of Tarja's voice. It's just too much for me. HOWEVER. I give her mad props for her skills in opera singing. That End of an Era performance of Phantom of the Opera is vocally the best modern day metal version. that end note was beautiful
So basically Tarja is better in her head voice, sure, but when it comes to chest voice or anywhere between the two...unless you are deaf you got to realise Floor's better. Only if Nightwish had both of them at the same time, that would be as far as the band gets in this life :)
**Only if Nightwish had both of them at the same time** i would kill legion of innocent babies to have it happen:D
Amo as duas ♡♡

Concordo...Com nightwish a sinto apagada... No After Forever e Revamp tinha mais vigor...

This is absolutely true.

The key is lowered so Emppu doesn't have to bring a second guitar along on the tour. It doesn't have anything to do with Floor.
*This is how it was explained by a guitar player...*
"Emppu's guitar is locked into D standard tuning (what 99% of their set list is played in with D, G, C, F, A, D), a whole step down from E standard (which is what Stargazers is played in with E, A, D, G, B, E). Tuning a whole step up and back down on a guitar like his requires screw drivers and is very time consuming. It is NOT PRACTICAL to tune up to E standard, nor carry around a whole other guitar for one song."
Tarja obvio
Tarja steps on the Floor...👢
There is onlybone Tarja Turunen! Nothing beats the original!
Floor's operatic vocals are sounding better on the EFMB tour.
Btw there's an error in you description... it should read:
Comparing the way the *vocal powerhouse* Floor sings her head voice (operatic voice) compared to the vocal powerhouse Tarja.
SSBMsounds I thought TOT would be
+Epictemptation7 90% of my other profile pictures were Floor and After Forever pictures and some old Nightwish/Epica. I should probably change it now.
SSBMsounds oh i see haha
floor is more versatile .. I love her more
I love both of voices
Tarja is the queen.
Tarja wins by far
tarja was more operamatic and gothic like and fit the band! (opramatic and dramatic mixed)
Allways Tarja
I prefer Floor. Tarja's operatic performance degrades during live.
