@@miahconnell23 "Not Fade Away " was written by Buddy Holly, and appeared as the B-side of his hit record, "Oh Boy "!, which reached No.3 in the UK charts in January, 1958. Although Norman Petty is shown as the co-composer, that was only a device Petty used, so that he got half the composer's royalties. The beat was Bo Diddley's (not patented !), and Buddy would have freely admitted that.
@@Scotseasy you’re totally correct, and I’m honestly not sure why my brain went to the Stones first and not Buddy Holly. Was it Buddy Holly’s co-writer who brought in the beat ? Because it is extant on that rendition even though it isn’t maxed-out & brought to the fore-ground…
Love this original version so amazing really wonderful ❤
Thanks for watching please subscribe
I detect a little bo diddley in this song with the beat. Love it.❤
Did the Stones give Bo Diddley credit for this ? Their business-end was overly litigious with the Verve: I hope they gave credit to Bo Diddley
Are you not aware this was a Buddy Holly song?
