My goats have knocked over the milk bucket and I often think of the phrase "No use crying over spilt milk". Every drop is precious when you work so hard for it!
Everything is so crazy and scary right now. Your videos are such a welcome part of my day. Thank you all. 💕
Wilder was turning the cup looking for the handle, that was so cute.
So funny when W was looking fo a handle on his cup. He’s so smart.
You are sharing your love and knowledge of goats w Gracie and it is beautiful to watch🥰 Grace is such a joy🤗
I realize how much work it takes to produce a video and really appreciate it. You are a bright spot to so many as we are in lock down and look so much forward to your beam of light into our lives at this time. THANK YOU.
I don't care how "ugly" those pork chops looked to you, they looked fantastic to me. Hope you enjoyed.
Gracie I think that you impress me every video so do your brothers and sisters what a perfect family thanks so much mom and dad thumbs up my friends
Wilder is just so stinkin cute. And smart! Love seeing him interact with everyone in your videos.
What a sweet baby...He's such a darling little 👦.💝💝💝
For a first time milking at their new home, I think your goats did very well (behavior wise). I don't know that much about goats other than when they kick around a lot on the milk stand and this morning they looked quite calm. Your blossoming trees are just so full of blooms. I hope that is a sign of major harvest for you this year. Have a Blessed day.
Such a relaxing sound of milk hitting the bottom of a pail! A good first milking, despite the hoof in the bucket... All will smooth out soon..
Your family is doing awesome, always a pleasure to get to be a part of your daY😃👍🏼Blessings
Morning. I can relate with making lists. When I was young, I made a list to keep it all prioritized. Now that I'm retired, the lists are for remembering. God bless you, Art and family. Praying for your family's health, strength, safety and success. ☝🙏💪👉...
The cat’s prayer won! 😀
Bri the goats really seem to make you so happy. It is great to watch.
I got my therapy for the day!!!!!! Grace is such a huge help, Wilder is just the most adorable little dumpling. The goats 🐐 are so cute, the milking will only get better! Those are what I call “proper” pork chops yummy x
As always thanks for sharing your day. When I saw those pork chops I thought man I'd be right over if I could!
I can't even handle how cute Wilder is talking and helping with the goats! It's too much!
You guys time your upload and they match perfectly with my breaks😍
Hi Art and Bri and kids too. How is the goose or did I miss an update on her issue. Great video as always. Have a blessed day.
Dino K I was wondering too.
Ugly doesn’t mean they aren’t tasty! Love watching your family God bless
You two are such fine people And we all know that sometime things dont go as well as they do other times. We love you and your family any way you come to us. We feel your tensions and your joy. Keep at it sweet friends.
You guys have the greatest children they look like they really enjoy helping y'all.💙💗💜💞 Thank you so much for sharing your time and family with us, y'all are such a blessing🕊️🐝🐞🐦
Awwww.. isn't it SO sweet to see and hear goats on the farm again? I LOVE it!! They seem SO sweet and are all such pretty goats.... Adorable how the kitty wanted some fresh milk. Sweet...
It almost feels like spending the day with a friend. God bless you all.
I like the fact that you clarified ruminants can control whether they let their milk down or not cause as a mom of eight I always said bologna when I heard " she's holding back her milk. But now it seems to make better sense.
Such a beautiful life.
Y’all’s littlest are such good children.
Beautiful time with family
Whats amazing is they hold milk for their babies...i love goats.
I really want to thank your family for the solace you've given me and so many others during these hard times. Each day I look forward to seeing and learning from your family. The calmness of your family is a balm to my heart and soul. I appreciate your kindness and hope that you continue to be blessed. Be safe
The goats did good for the first time milking. Such a beautiful day on your homestead. 💖
Thank you for the video I enjoyed watching you milk the goats
Well done Bri with the milking of the goats. You really do, do a wonderful job running your family household with everything you achieve on the farm. Stay safe all, xxxx
Oh I am sooo looking forward to seeing the grapes this year - just noticed them when you let out the chickens!!
Bless you all.
The milking went well I thought. Grace good job keep at it. The bucket gets knocked over sometime. Pork chops looked delicious!
it will all be good so glad you have goats !
Your vidos are a big part of week ty for sharing your lifes with us
The pork look yummy
I hope where good
So glad to see you back on the homestead! Those ugly pork chops cooked into beautiful chops 😋
Bri you got some really cute and calm goats. I guessing re adjusting after being at the Rhodes takes a bit of time with a smaller animal to milk. Now you are glowing even more since the goats came to your home. Hopefully they will give enought milk so you have enought until you cow has a baby . My list is huge, i am barely managing to get stuff done without meds for my Adhd. Meat is beautiful always.
Diana. Sweet Diana. I PRAY you will do WELL without your ADHD MEDS. YOU know what is BEST FOR YOU. GOD BLESS YOU IN JESUS'S NAME. EACH PERSON HAS DIFFERENT NEEDS. YOU ARE O.K. LOVE FROM MICHIGAN HUGS PRAYERS🔯🀄💖💯🌹🌹🌻🌻🐦🐦🐐🐢🌴🌴🀄🔯🀄🔯💖💯
I had to watch this because I just milked my new Alpine for the first time.
Bright, you can use a cotton dish towel to strain the milk. Such as a washed flour sack, my Mother used them for straining all milk we had. Plus a reusable source.
Things are coming along well. Your area is about 3weeks ahead of me here in Killarney, Ontario Canada. The trees in bloom are beautiful on your homestead. Thanks for sharing. Keep well and keep safe!
I think the goat milking went well for the first time. They seem very calm. Enjoyed the video!
Loved that ending remark!
Favorite: The only way to work those things out is to do it!!♥️❤️Bri
BRI for the goat stand on the head brace instead of using rope to hold the board use a wire by bind the wire in a loop so it drops over the board. Like on a fence post (easier to manage then tying a rope each time
Beautiful day.
My favorite homestead channel 😊
Get a harrow that you can drag behind your truck. After the cows get off a large area, draq the area to knock down the poop piles. That fertilizes the whole pasture and it stops this grass heaps. You are so correct about giving them less area for a shower time. You will work out a system that does good for you.
i just love the sounds of baby goats
Momma goat seemed to milk great! Loved the updates! God bless!
Hey dad love your sidekick he’s adorable
I think those goats will be GOOD for your family. Theres some getting use to each other & a way of doing things.
Porkchops looked exactly how mine look lol. So i know they gonna be delicious. I always bbq my pork when i grill cook em. Before this big pandemic when meat was plentiful we would buy pork steaks from our local meat mkt just because they were cheapest. Watching ur video on my phone the colors of the grass look so beautifully green. Compared to our grass from friday morning it turned all white. About 4-inches thick. Old man winter wasnt ready to give up yet. Well thanks for your video, they are always a pleasure to watch. ❤🙏
I'll say it again I love the way your family all comes together to help around the farm also.com chops look delicious I love pork chops cooked that way anyway stay safe stay strong stay healthy god bless and enjoy life. and hug those children's ✌❤👨🍳🎅🚌's
Make a list? I can’t live without a LIST! Arthur my dad would say you are a man born with common sense!! That’s rare ! 😍
With the donation money, quoted just a few weeks back you could have had an entire new, 1600 square foot 2 story, barn style/cabin style log home up and livable with cedar siding for just under 25,000 CAD, about 18 ,000USD. Why take the route with the trailer and cleaning the house and whatever else, that takes a lot longer, and what about the other 50+ thousands? I hope you help other families.
Tip: Try keeping a squirt bottle of water by the grill to manage flare-ups.
Another great video. Hugs and Prayers ya'll
Baby boy is soo cute ! By all😄💖💖💖💖
We have the perfect life and are so very blessed!
Bri, have you ever tried hobbles? My goats do well with the hobbles. They are a thick nylon and are completely Humane.
Also , a colander/strainer lined with paper towels, cloth, etc works , too
So happy you have your goats ,again.
I have used hobbles in the past. I am going to wait on using them because they have been doing pretty good.
i grow potatoes in a bag last year just like the one you use for hay.
*GOOD AFTERNOON MAMA GREEN EYE CONGRATULATIONS FAMILY*
Norma Jean didn't like the cat so close when she was restricted in the stanchion. He may be smaller than her, but she knows a predator when she sees one. Love your vlogs!
Hi very good video I did enjoy watching this reminds me when I was child back home in southern Italy
I have a suggestion when you do milking the goat by hand if you put the bucket behind the be less chance for the goat to put the leg in the bucket 🙏🤗🍻from Buckland west Australia
Great video thanks for sharing with us ❤
I was wondering, how is the goose?
Your videos are the first thing I view with my morning coffee 😍
Love watching the kids enthusiasm for the farm 😁.
Thank you and God bless.
Arthur will update in the next video. This one was filmed before that happened.
you may want to add some sides to your goat milking station so they can't move around so much . Great Video. Wilder is one smart little guy lol.
Art, did your prolapsed goose make it???? Please dont leave me hangin... Thank you and ALL your family for such valuable content in your videos.
He will update in the next video. THis video was filmed before that happened.
I would find a cookie sheet that fits on your grill and you could cook those pork chops on the cookie sheet and then just Grill them off after they're done cooked just to give them a little bit of a crisp
Goats! I’m so glad you have goats again!
My kids wouldn't drink it til the milk was really chilled. Love Alpines, I found that my Nubians had a bit more of a creamy taste. Any left over milk went into cooking or to the pigs, chickens and soap making.
My guess is that the goat milk is sweet because of the diet/grass/soil/hay/feed/water they had with the previous owner. It takes at least a month for the body (any body) to adapt to new food or diet. Mothers who breastfeed know this, right Bri? As they say in Italy, "piano...piano" or "slowly.. slowly". All in good time. They're great goats. :-) God bless you and all you set your hands to.
We had milk goats for years, Alpines, and our family drank the milk for years. We loved it. Made cheese too. Miss it, but never replaced the milk goats after they got too old. We raise meat goats now. Kiko's. Everyone will get used to it. Nothing better than a really cold glass of goat milk.
Oh, those pork chops! That made me realize that I need to eat some pork chops soon.
Bri - I have been meaning for weeks now to write you and let you know that your changes in spirit and positivity has been noticed by me. Something changed in you while staying at the Rodes paradise. You really have blossomed and I love your positivity and beautiful spirit. You deserve compliments and the change has me invested and a fan. Keep it up. ❤️ Thank you for sharing your life and family with me and my family. God Bless you and your family! ❤️❤️❤️😊😊😊🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️
Your alpines are beautiful. I started out with nubians and after years of not having goats got into them again and got alpines. I think your goats did very well considering it is their first time. I find alpines are not as tempermental as the nubians.
Yummy the pork chops looked amazing,
I know goat milk is an acquired taste.
But they are so pretty.
I have always heard that goats milk helps digestive system.
Art, read Greg Judy's grazing books. You are giving them too much pasture. You need smaller paddocks, daily moves and chickens or ducks or geese to follow to break up cow patties and make the pasture grass more uniform
I think those charred chops would still taste good.. I like the taste of burnt popcorn.
great video bless u all
Really enjoying your channel! Awesome content!
I love all of your videos! Thanks so much. We really need them, especially now. (Beth)
Your oldest is growing up so fast
Yes to all the lists Bri! 😂🙌🏻
You are the queen of lists! 😍
mom - going to town
daughter - you're not hitting the bucket
mom - moving the pail...I'm not
daughter - and you're hitting me instead
LOVE IT
Bri, Al Lumnah has a restraint he uses on the goat's hind legs while he milks. Maybe you could contact him and he will tell you how he made the restraint.
You could hobble the goats 🐐 to start with until they get use to it again...I watched Crystal on Blue Cactus Dairy (RUclipsr) do that just to start with since they hadn’t been milked for a while 😊👍
Is it easier to milk the goats than the cows? Is the hand movement about that same in each, goat/cow? You seem to really enjoy this chore. I guess it can be a peaceful experience and you can kinda escape the worries of life for a bit. As long as the animal is cooperating.
I think the cattle are after the Clover more than the grass
True.
I was wonderng how your goose is doing, any progress ?
ME TOO❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹😥😥🀄🔯🀄🔯💖💖💖💯💯💯
Kendall Ricker yes what happened
Great to see Goats working out. Kids liked the Milk warm. Art will like better if Cold. A suggestion and that's all it is. I learned from my Grandfather and Father that when training a new animal to milk you should only have most experience person milk. This gives the animal time to adjust to the new process. Your hands are different than Grace's. Goat knew you had touched her etc before. Give Goats a week to get used to You then introduce Grace by you milking one teet and her the other. Know how important it is to have Children involved but sometimes taking it slow works better. Art you are correct. You've given the cows to large a space so they only Prime Rib instead of Hamburger if you catch my drift. You have a Beautiful Family and Farm. Stay Safe God Bless and Peace Be With You All ☮️🙏❣️
Get a pellet smoker grill! We bought a Traeger & it was worth every dollar 💵 They have different models. We had to build a covered deck because it has the computer/WiFi on it. But it’s a whole different experience...learning curve, but no burned up dry meat anymore! You can control the heat like an oven. It does take power though. You can bake on it too! Pizzas etc. Nice addition to your set up right now 😉 Then when you move into your new/redone home, it’s still a good asset to your homestead with all that great home grown meat 🥩😎😋😋😋
Hilarious! Charred yep could wrap in foil to keep the grease contained, drain when half cooked & then grill. should turnout better.LOL
Didn’t realize You milking equipment is almost same as Mine.. lol I love the small 1 gallon lidded bucket and do the same.. I milk out “abit” then dump into the lidded bucket and keep milking so if a hoof etc. happens all the work/milk isn’t ruined 😂... Norma Jean looks and acts like one of my girls 😂... Our other girl OAD and kid sharing gives a Gallon on her own. Once they get use to the routine and Grained etc. def agree you’ll be getting more 🥰... Enjoy Spring!
Love your videos xx
Do you have an update on the goose with the prolapsed vent?
Arthur will update in the next video. This video was filmed before that happened.
Thank you for letting us KNOW
