- Last Fall we had to sell our beautiful herd of Nubian Dairy Goats. Today we bring home the beginning of our new goat herd. We bought two Alpine Dairy goats to begin again with goats on the farm.

Agree! Bri is always very beautiful in my eyes .. and "ornaments" don't necessarily add to better impressions, right, when they're put on someone who doesn't radiate beauty in the first place.

😘😘😘. Aaaahhh yes.....all felt well on my farm when I brought my Alpine named Melody home the first day. The best no stress goat, ate everything and so family friendly. And just like a dog she would have her head out the window in back seat of my old car calling out to friends and strangers. Everyone in town knew her. Watching your kids loving on them and seeing how calm and receptive the goats were brought a flood of memories. ALL good too. Can Wilder be any cuter as he was jumping with joy turning into a goat boy and no longer a cow boy. I think he has so much love in his tiny heart for both Daddy. He just loves life. What a smile on Bri’s face. Yep all is good once again. Such a BEAUTIFUL video as you continue your journey on your gorgeous land. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

We are in very similar situation. We have a house that needs work before being habitable, we live in an RV on our property, and our present focus is growing as much food as possible. Keep your head up 😁 Good to see you guys are progressing in difficulty.

Art, straw will add heat to them meaning it makes them warm. We tend to give our alpines straw in the winter. If you want more milk I notoce also with straw a more creamy milk. Alpines arent known for heavy cream. Alfalfa of course and good quality orchard grass will increase production. We use blue seal 18% grain. And of course deworm and copper bolus 2x a year here. We always run a fecal because of resistance to dewormers, I'm sure you know all this. Alpines are very smart cam be pushy with eachother but love their humans..watch the babys and ypur knees when they get pushy. I'm breeding with my new bucks to get a black alpine with a white band. Guess the name?....yes oreo!!! We would love to see y'all at the state fair showing. You dont have to be into udders Bri, its just fun to see the kids show plus they get money of they are with ADGA which our son turns back into the upkeep of his goats, the fellowship and a potluck. He is 16. Our last one of 3 left at home. Bri when we got our son into alpines (we homeschool he was 14 he told me he was bored he cant do sports because of his heart issues. He knows better to say he's bored and here we are 4 kune kune pigs, 12 alpines and 1 oberhausli fixing to kid, and 20 chickens later) but at first i didn't like the alpines either, I dont think I'll ever own another breed. If our oberhasli has boys, we will band and eat too. We are getting better with show but def looooove alpine milk its aaamazing!!! Big news we have a new vlog camera!!! Also found put our neighbor up the path teaches editing at the high School. So we will be getting better quality videos soon. Ok I'm rambling just excited for y'all. Stay safe love y'all God Bless!

I can see the difference in Bri’s face already. Not that you don’t exude joy all the time but now there’s a sense of peace and contentment I don’t think we’ve seen in a while. 😊

Wow the goats settled into the barn very quickly. To have the mommas so chillándoos eating and the kids exploring the new barn along with a family of seven watching and playing in the pen just after transport from a previous home is amazing.

The homestead is beginning to look normal. It helps the children to regain the sense of homeyness. Things will never seem normal until the return to the house. But these small steps sure goes a long way.

I have neighbors with goats. They all have shiny brown and black coats and horns that curve back. They wander our hills with the herdsman. The leader goats always have bells around their necks. They're called Alpina Comune, a very common and preferred domestic breed in northern Italy. Other than that, I know nothing about goats haha. Your children are so happy to have the goats on your farm again. I hope the mothers provide excellent milk for your family.

I got a monster pitchfork for Mother's Day 3 years ago. I was over the moon happy! Now instead of 2 hours to clean the coop - twice a year - it takes me 45 minutes by myself.!

Watching the two of you with your family always makes me smile. I love your peacefulness and joy...and of course seeing the goats! I am heading into my first Nigerian Dwarf kidding season: 3 pregnant does that should be starting next week. I am really nervous/anxious/excited and just keep praying that there aren't any complications the first time around until I get my bearings. Running this place on my own has it's challenges; one being that there isn't anyone nearby to help out/assist if labor goes south.
