Atelier Ryza 2 was really cute! I liked it more than Ryza 1, which I also thought was a solid Atelier game. I still prefer Sophie (though I need to get around to playing Sophie 2 soon) but if you generally like Atelier games, you're gonna like this one, too.
Looking forward to playing Ryza 3 once it's out!

Oh look a Red Ba- RED BARD?!? Great to see another video 👍
I am so happy to see one of my favorite RUclipsrs ever return, it brings me much joy
That’s cool that you made this, I beat the first one last night. I really didn’t want it to end, but the game told me it was about to end so I put off for 2 months.

Correction: The last Atelier game that got a numbering sequel would be Mana Khemia 2, which is considered part of the Atelier series line.
Was thinking the same, although the different naming convention might make it controversial.
She said direct sequel, tho
@@justonefra
Mana Khemia 2 is actually much more of a direct sequel to the original than AI2 was to the first, which was a loosely-related prequel.
Aren't Firis and L&S direct sequels to Sophie, even if they don't share the same name/use numbers?
*AS WAS FORETOLD WITHIN THE SACRED SCROLLS SHE HAS RETURNED.*
I got into the Atelier games earlier this year when my life was falling apart. I was looking for lesser known jrpg franchise to mindlessly grind and found this things existed and had a million games. I started the mystery series and finished it by a time things were a bit better. There's something really strong about how mindless this games are, usually that'd be an insult but in this case it's an absolute strength.
The way they kept reintroducing characters, specially in Lydie & Suelle, was beautiful. It made them all work as recurring characters but also people who grew between the games and clearly achieved the OP things you do by their end games.
Seeing my girl Firis dealing with all the possible endings, because she's a glutton not only for food but adventures, was great. And Sophie's absolutely badass come back gave me chills. In a game where I mash X to make the millionth basic mixture.
Where should I start with Atelier if I have not touched the series before.
Mysterious trilogy and Ryza are good places to start
Mysterious trilogy is a good start, the gameplay's way closer to the rest of the series than ryza and out of the turn based ones these are one of the easiest to start with because you don't have to worry about time limits
Also, if you've got a habit of hoarding items from other games, the second game in the mysterious trilogy - Firis, does a really good job getting you early on into the mindset that you're cute little alchemist, whose main weapons are the items she makes and can make more and more powerful ones once she runs out of them.
Red Bard covering Atelier?! I can die happy
How come no one ever talks about Atellier Shallie. Loved the aesthetic!!!
The Queen has graced us Again
"Sorry this review is so late!"
Me, who has never even heard of this game before: "You are forgiven"
im so happy that red bard is uploading videos constantly again
In conclusion Get Sophie, is overall a better game , Sophie god and YES WE NEED SOPHIE 3 !
Nice to see you still alive. Missed ya Bardie
Biggest Mana Khemia fan here to say that actually, Atelier Iris 2 is not the last time an Atelier game got a sequel, it's actually Mana Khemia 2. Iris 2 came out in 05, Mana Khemia 2 came out in 08. It's a crime that Mana Khemia 2's PSP port didn't get localized into english but that's just me.
Hey! A new video! Yay!
After this video I'm still not sure what the game is about but at least I know it exists
People like to mention the Iris trilogy when talking about Atelier sequels purely because of the number in the title but in reality Iris 2 is barely even connected to 1 and 3 isn't at all.
Same with Mana Khemia 2, yes it takes place after 1 in (roughly) the same setting and there's a couple returning characters but that's literally about it.
Any other Atelier sequel is more of a sequel than those ones.
Also as shown from the trailers, Ryza 3 will let you visit areas that are relevant to the plot of the first two games, so yeah, you should play them first.
Also also, I can't reccomend Ryza 2 as an entry point not only because of the characters and story, but mostly because of the overwhelming amount of mechanics that are presented to you.
A newcomer likely won't bother to use half of all the systems and mechanics present in 2 because there's just so much to do.
If you were to start from Ryza 1 then fine I guess, but as a long time Atelier fan I can't even reccomend that since it's pretty different from the rest of the franchise; combat, alchemy, tone...
If you would be planning to tackle other games in the franchise then I would still reccomend Mana Khemia, Rorona, Sophie or Escha & Logy to ease you in, even after first playing Ryza 1.
I was just rewatching the Endless 8 video, and was sitting down to watch the new one that I missed in my suba feed. Glad to hear your style of video again!
Ryza is the only Atelier game I didn’t bounce off of. Ryza had one of my favorite glow up moments in the boss fight like 15 - 20 hours in.
Oh man I've missed your content. Great to see you posting again!
Love your content, I feel like a lot of creators that gain a larger following let it get to their ego; biut your content feels the same as the day I discovered it. Much love, hope you have peace
Yknow Red Bard returning with an out of the blue Atlier Ryza review was not on my 2022 bingo card.
God, I wish we get Sophie 3 sometimes in the future. Or even better Dusk 4. Or Firis 2.
Kinda mad I waited on this game, now it’s out of stock physically for switch and it’s up in price, hopefully they print more copies like they did for ryza 1 a couple months ago
Switch version really isn't that good tho
My buddy streamed the entire first series. The games got great music 🎶 very easy listening.
Hell YEAH! Consistent uploadin' 😎🎸 Rock on dudeski!
I've been dormant for so long that during my slumber, Red Bard made a new videogame related video again. I need to return to the world now.
I appreciate the review, I was actually thinking of picking up the Atelier games in the near future, as I really enjoy games that have crafting and item making systems, so I found this at the right time. Very concise, very nicely presented, and very good review. Keep it up!
Atelier ryza 2 feels like a filler arc
Welcome back Queen
two videos from Red Bard in the span of a week? is this christmas?
Koei Tecmo is becoming bad the moment they censored Lucy's panties from the Fairy Tail video game.
Honestly, I disagree. Gameplay-wise, it's fine, but Ryza being the protagonist for 3 games straight, yet most of her group plus herself didn't change much, and 2 felt like filler.
forgot this game even existed wow. that's too long of a wait tho.
yah I can watch there endless 8 video again...hmm when was your last upload 1 year, 8 days, 1 day WHAT OH MY GODS YOUR ALIVE
So happy to see you uploading videos again!
Weird! I’ve watched all of RedBard’s videos how come I’ve never seen this 1 before…..

It's nice, but some of the padding is excessively grindy

Welcome Back! ❤️

I want to like this game, but I hate the Ryza combat system.
I got whiplash when I saw you posted again I’m happy
YOOOOO YOU'RE BACK!! Cool!
Red Bard Is BACK BABY! We Need at least 4 video/month now. T'hank you very much!
I first heard about Atelier because of their mobile game, but I've still yet to actually play one! I really want to though, they look interesting but it's intimidating trying to figure out which one to start with -.-
Try to start with the arland trilogi[rorona totori meruru] since is the first to be in english then start from there[sorry for my bad english]
@@alexandrarosu6176 You're good!
And I appreciate the input a lot, I'll look into that one. Thank you!!
Ok you are welcome and if you need more Information look up the atelier wiki or ask me.
the fun part is there no correct answer, you can start anywhere, there a order yes but is not necesary to play in that order, they varely connect the games , each game is autoconclusive so any game have a end and you dont need continue or go to back, that only if you really like the series and want to play every game
@@saitoXamaterasu That's kinda what feels intimidating though! Knowing I can start anywhere leads to questions like "if I start with a newer game will it kill some of the enjoyment of old games?" or "Will not knowing characters from past game make them feel less endearing in newer ones because I don't know them?" I've had it happen with other games series (Yakuza was one) but I'm fully aware it's just dumb anxiety on my part ^^;
Love the new videos
Good thing I got this before it sold out. Trying to find these games physically is a nightmare, luckily I have both physical copies and pre-ordered the 3rd one
1:09 still got tho ._. ngl
Lydie 2 and Suelle 2, but they’re separated out like Pokémon versions with online co-op? 😆
Perfect. I just beat doom eternal and i just started ryza2.
