Love your natural open honest casual cometary and enthusiasm. Discovered the first half of this walk at Easter. A much overlooked corner of the Lake District - beautiful.
In regards to the naming of the cave, it might actually be related to actual priest holes. Hartsop Hall in the base of the valley has priest holes within some rooms where priests could be hidden I believe.
The best camera you can ever have is the on you have with you pal... Hindsight is the only accurate science... But keep on making these vids.. I'm so jealous i cant get into the lakes this year. Had major surgery to reconstruct my knee. Love what you are doing.
Cracking video as usual. Love your passion for the Lake District. Have you worked as a Geography teacher before? Love the geographical references every now and again. Look forward to the next video.
Used to stay in a caravan with mum & dad years & years ago at Hartsop.the area around there is simply superb...we we walked up to angle tarn & onwards many times over the years..keep up the great reviews & excellent photography 👍
Finally up to date with your vids. Have been watching over the past few weeks and loved them all. Excellent relaxed presentation by a man who loves his subject and you've given me some ideas for our next visit in October. Keep up the good work.
Brilliant video. I'm definitely doing this walk the next time I'm in the lakes...... although I've said that about most of your videos in this series so far 🤷♂️🙂. Cheers dude 👍
I really want to head up there! Not the hole but Dove Crag. Great video Glen. This series is brilliant a real pleasure to watch and come along! Oh and I might not of got any shots and then BOOM AT THE END! Superb. Like I say, you should have a big cow Pat on the back for this series. Class 💚
Cows... Why did it have to be cows🙈 that valley at the start looked lovely. That whole area looks so nice. These last few have been extra special as they've overlapped with the routes we've recently done, and next one is what we've got left to do in this area. And of course, looking forward to seeing Finn 🤍
What a superb route you took. The scenery was absolutely fantastic as were your photos.. Thank you for your superb videos and dialogue. Look forward to your next one.
C’mon…how gorgeous was that scenery! So glad you showed that route. The priest hole was on my to do list but definitely now to experience those views. Loving the videos. Hi herdy!
Ahhh, cup of coffe and settle in for another entertaining Wainwright installment, with the 'muppet' known as L'escarpe Noir. Good fun, as usual Glenn. Love your photos at the end. A very unique editing style and one I like immensely! 👍
Great hike, think I may try that in the opposite direction as the terrain looks on camera at least easier on the knees lol. Once again a quality video. Cheers 👍🏻
Thanks for taking us along. I also didn't see anything mentioning the Priest Hole in the book, just mentions the gullies. I really appreciate you showing us the pubs you go to at the end - are you also pub bagging? 😄
Awesome vid. Is the ordinance survey 3D virtual flyover an app for you phone or PC....I can't find this particular version. Oh, and does it record your route as you walk it? Thanks
It's beautiful the way the light plays across the fells with the clouds casting shadows. You're capturing it brilliantly. Looking forward to the next one already!
Hi, big fan of your videos. That route's the one I always take up to the priests hole via the waterfalls it's stunning, so glad you went that way. Never spent a night in the priests hole but would love to do it, may I ask did you visit on a weekend or through the week? I'm happy to share it just not with 10 other people 🤣
Looks great up there, and some decent areas below dove crag to pitch up for the night perhaps? I'm heading out in a couple of weeks, but it's going to be my first time wild camping so I wonder if perhaps I should stick to slightly lower ground? I think I was advised to stay beneath 600m?
@@BlackCrag well if you're in the region let me know, I am fortunate or unfortunate to split my time between the north west Eng. and France, just overlooking mont Valider right now, problem in Pyrenees is they are so high and steep that it is hard to find circular day walks, and beautiful as it is I still prefer to be on top of the fells in the Lakes with the whole world beneath you.
This is making me really want to hike up in the lakes. The view from inside the Priest hole looks awesome and also from that little ledge just outside. How's the hiking in Jan?
@@BlackCrag On another note, my Osmo mic just died so I was looking at the Insta360R that you use. The footage looks way better than the DJI stuff, do you have a seperate device for recording the audio and then synch them up?
Dunno if it's the camera but id swear you'd lost a bit of weight this past couple of months man. Looking trim 👌 I've never been to brothers water..... the amount of hours I've spent in the lakes and never been to brothers water is criminal 🙄

We did this route in early November a few years ago and the autumn colours in Dovedale were stunning!
Another fantastic video, loving the Wainwrights series 👍
Beautiful view. Makes me jealous

Love watching your videos, it is the perfect inspiration for routes in the lakes, loving the new series!
That's a great route Dani and I did the same route a few year's ago. That descent is brutal on the knees 😁👍
great vid as always, 👌were doing it this Saturday and cant wait.
Cracking video as usual. Love your passion for the Lake District. Have you worked as a Geography teacher before? Love the geographical references every now and again. Look forward to the next video.
Perfect viewing at the end of the day ❤

Another cracking video, really enjoyed this one. I am off to Keswick for a weeks holiday tomorrow, first time in the Lakes for a year, cannot wait!
Thank you for this one great video
I've watched a good few of your hikes - this route is definitely on my to-do list - amazing scenery all along the route and with that light!
It's a beautiful place 😊 Thanks for watching
Thanks Glenn. Loved every minute of it. Really liked the photos at the end. Cheers
absolutely love it Glen great work yet again, can't wait for the next episode
Excellent, superb video,great walk 👍🍺
Thank you for showing me sides of Dove Crag I couldn't experience from the Fairfield Horseshoe.
..... movement with Nature's Gifts!!
I so look forward to your videos...beautiful
Now that's a nice walk. Defo on the list.
Braver than me going past those huge killer beasts 😱 - awesome photographs 👌😎
My favourite so far. I'm going!
we'd love to see a white dog with you !! Great video again thank you !!
Bloody lovely. Scerenery, if one was to portmanteau serene and scener…… ahh you get it! 😀
😂
Fantastic. Love Dovedale, It's truly stunning. Might have to bob up at the weekend. 🤔
That really was a Light Fantastic day. The vlog and photographs captured it brilliantly. It would be good to see the Finnmeister in the next vlog.
Great walk, might try the beginning for the waterfalls and the end to get the view and erratics, enjoyed the finale👍
Brilliant photography, ✅keep them coming mate 👍
Great video and the photos at the end are superb.
Cracking as usual Glenn. I was in the Priest Hole a few months ago and can’t believe that lot stayed the night😂
Dove dale was my first ever mountain in the lakes. Round onto hartsop above how and back to hartsop
Brilliant video.
I'm definitely doing this walk the next time I'm in the lakes...... although I've said that about most of your videos in this series so far 🤷♂️🙂.
Cheers dude 👍
I’ve done the decent from dove crag down the valley…it was really steep! Looks like a killer climb up

Another awesome film, full of great info mate, never been to priest hole but you have now made my mind up, great series
I have watched every one of your VLOGS. This is the best yet. Love your enthusiasm. I am sure you inspire ppl to walk the Lakes. Great stuff.
Thank you very much 😊 🙏
Another brilliantly put together vlog, top drawer. Really enjoying the series. Keep going. Regards Mike
Great video again, love this series, gorgeous valley!
What a fantastic place for lunch

Brilliant Glenn! I still don't understand the "safety in numbers" in the Priesthole. Not exactly solitude satisfying! Simon, Somerset.
Very much enjoying the change in direction mate, briliant series this is turning out to be and dovedale looks stunning.
Great walk maybe I should try part of ot haha 😄
Class act 👌👏👏👏

Thanks so much 😊 That there is part of the name of my future French Chateau! Le Manoir aux L'escarpe Noir 😂
@@BlackCrag Indeed! Maybe not French, as you passed it on your walk. Just gotta move the path from the garden! 😁
Ah, that's Crag Ranch 😁
Looking forward to getting round to doing these few. I've got 8 left on the eastern fells.
Great hike, think I may try that in the opposite direction as the terrain looks on camera at least easier on the knees lol. Once again a quality video. Cheers 👍🏻
Ace and great content 👍
Going up High Hartsop Dodd isn’t fun but I imagine going down isn’t great on the old knees either, I was happy that it didn’t last too long 🤣
Thanks for taking us along. I also didn't see anything mentioning the Priest Hole in the book, just mentions the gullies. I really appreciate you showing us the pubs you go to at the end - are you also pub bagging? 😄
Enjoying your videos having recently found them! Just one question, how do you get the OS fly through on your videos? I can't figure out how to do it!
Awesome vid. Is the ordinance survey 3D virtual flyover an app for you phone or PC....I can't find this particular version. Oh, and does it record your route as you walk it? Thanks

Pitch wherever you want but I'd be mindful of falling rocks and prevailing winds. Have fun 😊
Question: do you use a walking stick on any if your treks? Just wondering
Love the walk, as love The Lakes, does anyone know of an equivalent type vlog for walks in French Pyrenees?
Thank you 😊 I'm sure I could be persuaded to do a series there 😂

Loving the views on my new phone
This is making me really want to hike up in the lakes. The view from inside the Priest hole looks awesome and also from that little ledge just outside. How's the hiking in Jan?
Honestly, it's such an incredible place 👌 January could be good, especially if there's snow on the ground. Are you heading back over the pond?
@@BlackCrag If my Supreme Leader will allow it.

Keep it laid back. Too much boom boom boom from the others. Simple commentary. The landscape speaks for itself. Peace. ❤️
It’s your stomach 😂
Havnt you bought yourself some new boots yet?(your tread was virtually gone on recent vid)
Soon 😁
@@BlackCrag will we get an unboxing video?
