You are not wasting your time. While I live across the Big Pond from you, when I watch your videos and listen to your jolly repartee, I am transported to England and all is well. Keep hiking and filming your hikes. You bring the fells and the lake alive for me.
Glenn, you come alive when you are doing these high level hikes, you light up like a light bulb. It draws your viewers in like a moth to a flame. Just keep on doing what you're doing. Absolutely brilliant, I'm well and truly smitten by the Lake District views. 🤩
I watch so many VLOGS of walking in the Lakes but you are by far the best. I believe you are a real inspiration for many. Your enthusiasm and sense of fun is addictive. I link all my friends to you. Never ever stop. My wife and I love your "chatter". Far better than some rubbish background music.
Being disabled you take me to places I will never be able to visit. So I'm very grateful for all the time and effort you take in making these vlogs. As regards your pictures that you normally put up at the end I think you are doing yourself a disservice in saying they were not good enough. Thank you again Glenn.
Hi Glenn. My first comment on your channel but by no means my first watch. I watch many hikers and wild campers on RUclips. You’re one of my favourites because of your mix of great content, humour, honesty and humility. You’re right, you are a normal person, and that’s what matters. Keep it and please don’t change it. ATB mate, Tim
That view at 13.02 OMG! In fact there were so many great views on this walk. Don't get disheartened because your channel is fantastic and organic growth is far more interactive and sustainable than rapid growth. As I said in the community tab here I'm one of those people that's been inspired by your videos and meeting up with you at the Black Mass couple of months back was great. Keep it up!
Totally agree. Better to have lower subs made of loyal supports than millions of subs and low views. 1 million subs with 40k views per videos isn't as good as 10k subs with 3-4k views per video in my eyes. That said I started following you almost from the start Glenn, under 1k views and its over 10 times that now in such a short space of time. Your market is niche, its a small area of the planet so it will always be slow growth but don't let that discourage you. You never know, once the series is done it .ight be worth branching into the Highlands and snowdonia :) I look forward to whatever comes next. People will watch because they enjoy your content and your personality...... as hard as that may be to believe haha 😄
I really enjoy your videos. I come home from work in the city, put your walks on my big-screen iMac, and for 40 minutes, I'm in another world. Thanks so much for filming these and uploading them.
I am glad you are doing these videos. As someone who used to walk all the places you walk, but has lived in the US for the past 23 years, I live vicariously through you and similar you tubers. PS. Always impressed at the sound quality of your microphone, I was convinced you went back to a studio and dubbed the sound until I hear some sort of rare ambient sound like a dog barking.
Quick story, may have said it before but I was born with a bone disease, my bones age 3 times quicker than they should and at 16 had both my hips replaced. I've spoke to a few folks about this like Niel James and Mali but anyway after many years of doing pretty much nothing my son wanted to climb a mountain. I couldn't be arsed but I picked one on the map (Helvellyn lol) and off we went. It was incredible. Genuinely cried driving into the lakes down the A66. I'd not seen a mountain since I was 7 on holiday in Wales. It was hard work, id just quit smoking and i was so unfit. Id let my condition getbthe better of me and given up really. Anyway we did it and it sparked a fire in me and about a year later I came accross your "lake district, I love you" drone montage film. Well that was it. I've been hooked since I saw that film. My photography I feel is so much better now and my passion for hiking is ridiculous, the kind of stupid where ill drive the 3 hours to the lakes do a hike and drive back in the same day kind of stupid and that's pretty much down to you my friend so thank you for what you do 😀among a few other changes I made in my life, hiking and photography has given me a thirst for life again 😀
it`s definitely a hidden gem part of the lakes. We did the same route the opposite way round, 5 Wainwrights in one hike. We saw a large herd of deer descending off Bonscale Fell...beautiful😍
I've always been surprised that your channel isn't much higher in the subs but it is moving upwards. You are my go to expert for anything Lake District and your Vlogs/ vids are quality, definitely a Legend of the Lakes.
Done this walk anti clockwise in March with my wainwright buddy our 9 year old border collie Brax, unfortunately we lost him to cancer a couple of months ago and we are devastated. He clocked up 130 wainwright's but its now with a heavy heart I have restarted my walks with 61 remaining. My point is your videos are helping me through this, so yes you do make a difference mate. Thank you.
Thank you Glenn for this video, it took me back nearly sixty years to when we had a caravan at Park Foot near Pooley Bridge. Apart from being allowed to waterski along the whole lake we used to take Land Rovers and motorcycles as well as ponies over Loadpot, Wether Hill and High Street to Windermere and never saw another person. Very fond memories.
Glenn, I love your channel so much, I may not comment but I always watch. Your videos make me feel more connected to my brother, he lives in the lakes 7 hours away from me, he is my only family. Your hikes allow me to imagine what my brother sees and experiences up there in the lakes. Our mum was born in Frizington, I hope to one day move to join my brother up there but for now I live through your vlogs. They help me feel connected so thank you 😊
Great viewing. Love those brown colours from the ferns dying back. I did the same walk in late March in 30 mph winds. Didn’t hang around. And, left walking boots back at apartment. Wet and cold feet. I sat on Bonscale( those towers!) the cloud lifted and the jets flew past, just amazing. Love the drone footage. Keep adding the pics. Don’t worry about it being your best work as that’s on your website.
Glenn, I’m a fairly recent subscriber & now binge watcher of your channel. Your enthusiasm, relaxed approach to hiking & photography is both brilliant & infectious. All your vlogs are eminently watchable, informative & entertaining. For my money you’re the man for exploring the Lake District, I’m sure if AW was still with us today you would have his endorsement.
Great video, loved the drone shots. I agree with other watchers about how beneficial and inspiring your videos are, my mother who is 85 and not able to do long high walks anymore, feels she can still enjoy the Lakeland fells. So thank you for that. I just like that they all have a happy ending as you inspire me to go and sit by a real fire with a real ale in a real Lake District pub. Kudos !
Great to see you in my playground!! 🙂 These are the closest fells for me, and I have covered many miles here on several occasions. I agree Loadpot etc., are bleak and boring but I never, ever tire of the amazing views. That's what makes it all worthwhile. Another fab vid! Thank you! 🙂
Thanks again for another great video. Wonderful reminder of the views from Bonscale and Arthur's Pike. A walk we did back in 2008 from Howtown to Pooley Bridge. Need to try it again. Looking forward to the next installment 👍
A superb vid, well done sir. Nice to see our favourite tarn, Angle Tarn. Spent many a mindfulness moment there. My wife and I used to stay in Hartsop a lot, plus its only one and a half hours drive away. The far eastern fells are some of our favourites. Thanks again for sharing.
Don’t under sell yourself. Presenting whilst being engaging are difficult communication skills that are not as easy as some folk think. And the Lakes Knowledge as well. Another top episode, not greatly familiar with this area and guilty of sitting in my own comfort zone, so yes great inspiration.
Another terrific video and a great reminder of a circuit I haven't done for years, but I remember those stunning views from that 'terrrace' path overlooking Ullswater. Makes me want to get back up there and I'm really enjoying the combinations of hills you're doing - giving me lots of ideas for different circuits. You're allowed to get distracted by it all and the light on a day like that - you did well to turn your back on it! And please don't feel weird about being an inspiration because you are and while knees get creakier and the lungs puff a bit more, seeing these videos really remind me of what's important and how much the hills are a vital part of life. And the nattering's fun too! And I really enjoy the shots you put up at the end too.
@@BlackCrag yes, they are. They fuel the soul! Living as I do far from them, I get back as often as I can but your channel (and others) keep me going and remind me of favourite hills and hills still to do.
Cracking video Glenn! As you said, the beauty of the light created some stunning views. Always good to end a walk with a pint too! Take care, Simon, Somerset.
We’re staying near Pooley Bridge later this year and found this video really useful (I actually find all your videos really useful). Thank you and keep up the great work!
Yet another awesome video, stunning views, just love the Lakes, we can't wait to get over there soon and your vids, just inspire us to attempt more walking. My partner has a badly damaged knee which prevents us from some of the higher routes which is heartbreaking for him as he used to be a member of the hill search rescue and coastguard over here (isle of Man) which he can no longer do. His eyes light up when he watches your videos and the Lake District is are favourite place to escape to when we can. I'm hoping to make his Christmas by buying the Hells Herdy T-shirt... he's gonna love that!! Please keep on with the vlogs, we can't wait for notifications of the next adventure. I mention Black Crag to whoever I can. There are a lot of us out here who look forward to watching you so pleeeease don't be disheartened, you have a loyal fan base who love you and all your stuff, and of course, the adventures of Finn...so darn cute!!
I'm late to this particular party. Only really hit your videos recently but I'm really enjoying them. I'm a keen wild camper and alot of your videos are the basis for my getting out and camping. Thank you 😊
Epic drone view of you at the top of Steel Knotts, really wonderful. How many times do we say WOW! This has to be one of the best views in the Lake District? It really is a mind blowing and magical place. The views of Ullswater and surrounding fells from Bonscale Pike are almost heart stopping. Fabulous. Thanks for posting what is an excellent video.
Another great vlog, full of stunning views and terrific waffleage. I'm excited to see see what season 2 brings. I'm one of those you spoke about who hadn't given the fells a second thought. But, I stumbled upon your channel and was definitely inspired to get out amongst it. Only one more walk from season 1 to do, then I will be following your footsteps in the far eastern fells. Keep up the good work.
Great to see some of the less frequented fells Glen. Very enjoyable as per usual. I’m also pleased that you appreciate the positive feedback you’re getting; it’s much deserved 👍🏻
Another amazing video, the views from this walk look incredible. You have definitely inspired myself and my daughters to get out there more often. We are slowly ticking the Wainwright’s off, not in any particular order just enjoying ourselves as we go. The last hike we did was the Fairfield Horseshoe back in September, due to family and work commitments we’ve not managed to get out, we have our next walk planned for just before Christmas going to do Rydal caves and Loughrigg Fell, a nice easy one for my youngest (7yr old) her 3rd Wainwright and my eldest (11yr) 16th Wainwright and my 27th. We can’t wait to get back out there. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and we look forward to seeing your next video’s.
Feet up here in Lancaster and just pressed play on your vid. Very much appreciated all the work, joy, views, entertainment and info you bring on your channel. The drive back to pooley bridge from the church is grim going when even slightly busy isn't it! Absolute ballache stopping, reversing, nearly losing wing mirrors on those narrow roads 😄
Amazing video and amazing gent! Keep going mate I love your videos mate and love the routes so i can plan my trips out. Thanks so much! Genuine channel!
Your content is the best Lake District content out there. I live in the midlands so can’t get to the lakes as often as I’d like and your videos help scratch the itch. Cannot wait to watch the rest of this series over the next year or so.
Hey Glenn, another fab vlog thanks...and great to see a bit of the the drone-age again 🙂. My wife and I did the first bit of this route earlier this year but continued up to High Raise and Kidsty Pike before heading back into Martindale via Rest Dodd & the Nab. Loved it but the climb up to Bonscale was a slog and the descent off of the Nab was a killer! Keep up the good work, lovin it.
As somebody who is doing their own hiking challenge that is quite similar to your own, your videos are not only inspiring, but also helpful and educational, so thanks very much. Keep it up!
Everything about your presentation is just fantastic, your sound quality is the best that i have come across. If i can gain an ounce of your quality once that i start filming, i will be a happy man.
Fantastic vlog again Glen. Have just watched it twice, so many stunning views. Will try this route next time we're in the Lake District! Very enjoyable. Thank you.
Hiya mate....another brilliant walk, one to do next time I'm up in the lakes. On the subject of trousers, I've got an exact pair of revolutionrace....was unsure too but i think their brilliant....
Very enjoyable as usual, love your vlogs you come across as a very down to earth person with a proper passion for the outdoors. Your photography is on another level 🙌. I can spot a Black Crag photo from a mile away! Keep it up mate .
This was my first Wainwright walk of 2022. Did it in reverse in some very windy conditions. Great video as always! I recall being equally underwhelmed with what was left of the lodge. From what I'd read I was expecting a little more 😂
As someone how is chiping away a the wainwright's, your channel shows me what is safe for me to attempt (im get old now) what is dog friendly and just where im ment to go, not nowing the route, where to start, where park, all things that prevents others from having a go, for that i thank you,...
Another excellent walk from the Glenridding/Patterdale area..the church at Martindale is beautiful & the views of Ullswater are breathtaking...the only thing missing was your 4 legged companion 🐕🐶.You have the 'gift' of narration while your filming & not everyone can do that & make it enjoyable to listen too while watching the vlog..keep up the great channel 👍
What a great video. Really enjoyed that. That is an area i must explore. Makes me want to skip work and get over to the fells! Keep up the great work. My go to de-stress videos. Good stuff.
Another enjoyable vid. Have done Hallin but not gone in the opposite route you’ve done here. I’m sure it’ll wait for me to give it a go when I’m next up there.
You are not wasting your time. While I live across the Big Pond from you, when I watch your videos and listen to your jolly repartee, I am transported to England and all is well. Keep hiking and filming your hikes. You bring the fells and the lake alive for me.
Love the music at the beginning.

Did this today and it actually stayed dry. Brilliant views of Ullswater and beyond. Great channel and appreciate your work.

Keep adding the pics at end, they may not represent your best work but they are fantastic to view for us amateurs. 😀
Thank you.... I'll give it some thought 😁

Oh Glen, you should feel inspired, very inspired. Maybe your best yet, staggering footage, thank you so much for what you do . 👌👏😘

Did this route in 2022, and I can concur the views are absolutely fabulous and the walking is easy! A must do route ❤

Great shot of the boat's wake on that glassy surface at 7:08, and I half expected you to shout, "DRAGOOO!" around 34:20! 😄
Great to see you in my playground!! 🙂 These are the closest fells for me, and I have covered many miles here on several occasions. I agree Loadpot etc., are bleak and boring but I never, ever tire of the amazing views. That's what makes it all worthwhile. Another fab vid! Thank you! 🙂
So beautiful! Thanks for the amazing drone shots!
Love this ...immersed my self watching ...great stuff ...thanks Glen
Wonderful Wonderful video Glen. Thanks ever so much for sharing your adventure with us all as always! Looking forward to the next one already! 😀🥾⛰
Thanks so much 😊 🙏
Thanks again for another great video. Wonderful reminder of the views from Bonscale and Arthur's Pike. A walk we did back in 2008 from Howtown to Pooley Bridge. Need to try it again.
Looking forward to the next installment 👍
I moved to the Lake District earlier this year and when anyone asks me why I did, I share your videos with them. Please keep them coming!
Thanks so much 😊 🙌
That felt like a mighty trip out! I always vicariously enjoy the pint in the pub at the end 🍺 - fantastic mate 👍👍👍
Another great walk. I like the way you explain the route and show the fells and hills from your viewpoint. Looking forward to the next.
I love this walk and you've done it proud. I only wish I'd been there with you to enjoy those views, we could have lost our heads together! 😁😆👍
I love your channel for the outdoor content but also really love to see your photos ❤
Another great video, really enjoy your walks and are very much appreciated. Thank you.
Fantastic video well presented enjoyed it so much while sitting in my bed with flu, cant wait to get out an visit the area early 2023 well done 10/10
Don’t under sell yourself.
Presenting whilst being engaging are difficult communication skills that are not as easy as some folk think.
And the Lakes Knowledge as well.
Another top episode, not greatly
familiar with this area and guilty of sitting in my own comfort zone, so yes great inspiration.
Thank you, appreciate it 😊 🙏
Certainly look forward to your videos as they are inspiring with such diverse and beautiful views
Thank you, that's great to know 😊 🙏
I love the title of this video 👍👍
Excellent footage ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I'm late to this particular party. Only really hit your videos recently but I'm really enjoying them. I'm a keen wild camper and alot of your videos are the basis for my getting out and camping. Thank you 😊
Wow, superb vlog and shots had me grabbing a map and tracing your route. Your vlogs are always good fun, informative and inspirational Glenn.
Glenn, from the opening drone shots through the sun-dappled fells, to the pint at the end, only one word comes to mind....sumptuous!! Thank you.

Stunning views that day
Hi Glenn just another great set of views with fantastic light. You really deliver entertaining videos. Just wish I could get up there. 👍
Might give this a go….. looks pretty darn good!!
I said it last week and I'll say it again - I love this area. So, so glad you're covering it in your vlogs. Thankyou 😀
Thank you 😊
Just love your vlogs. Brilliant views❤️
Definitely inspired me👍
Season 2 continues in fantastic style will definitely be walking this route next year sometime 👍

Inspiration, not at all, more like a legend of fell walking in the most beautiful part of the world.
Lovely walk.
Great to see some of the less frequented fells Glen. Very enjoyable as per usual. I’m also pleased that you appreciate the positive feedback you’re getting; it’s much deserved 👍🏻

Did this one in reverse last winter, brilliant to be able to re live it through your film. Top quality again, thanks for taking the time.
Thanks so much 😊
Your content is the best Lake District content out there.
Thanks very much 😊
Thats view certainly was special. Love your vlogs, love your passion for the lakes. Your walks always inspire each time we visit the lake district .
Thank you 😊
fantastic footage/presentation!
As somebody who is doing their own hiking challenge that is quite similar to your own, your videos are not only inspiring, but also helpful and educational, so thanks very much. Keep it up!
Thanks very much, appreciate it 😊
Always look forward to your videos 🏴
Thank you.... I look forward to making them too 😊
Here I was thinking your trip through grasmere and silver howe was the most beautiful and then I watched this one
Thank you 😊
Brilliant vid - thanks.
It's definitely inspired me. Iv just booked a hotel in pooly Bridge for next April. Going get up them there hills. Can't wait.
Thank you.
Thanks so much 😊 you'll love it!
Hiya Craig
And happy new year to you i really love the night walk can we have some more night walks please thank you Trace 😊
these videos are super helpful and awesome as hoping to go and explore the far eastern fells in March, 🙂
Hiya mate....another brilliant walk, one to do next time I'm up in the lakes. On the subject of trousers, I've got an exact pair of revolutionrace....was unsure too but i think their brilliant....
Loved how desolate some of that was, also got several pairs of RR trousers 😅 just black ones though.
Absolutely beautiful there and love your accent
Thanks very much 😁
That is a great vlog, some great views. That walk is now on my list to early next year
It really is! Thank you 😊
Loving the drone footage :) can't beat a drone for setting the scene :) 😀 great vlog as ever. Hoping to get back out soon. Its been too long
Thanks buddy 😊
Glenn please keep going - I need this shit! 👍🍺
😂 Thank you!
From what I'd read I was expecting a little more 😂
Ullswater by far my favourite area in the lakes. The mix of awesomeness and relative quiet compared to Windermere. Just a beautiful walking area.
I am literally speechless, omg what a brilliant landscapes! I would love to hike there, these shots are insanely beautiful!🔥🔥
Thanks very much.... You should come 😊
As someone how is chiping away a the wainwright's, your channel shows me what is safe for me to attempt (im get old now) what is dog friendly and just where im ment to go, not nowing the route, where to start, where park, all things that prevents others from having a go, for that i thank you,...
Thank you 😊
Another excellent walk from the Glenridding/Patterdale area..the church at Martindale is beautiful & the views of Ullswater are breathtaking...the only thing missing was your 4 legged companion 🐕🐶.You have the 'gift' of narration while your filming & not everyone can do that & make it enjoyable to listen too while watching the vlog..keep up the great channel 👍
Thank you, really appreciate that 😊 🙏
What a great video. Really enjoyed that. That is an area i must explore. Makes me want to skip work and get over to the fells! Keep up the great work. My go to de-stress videos. Good stuff.
Thank you, that's great to read 😊
Another enjoyable vid. Have done Hallin but not gone in the opposite route you’ve done here. I’m sure it’ll wait for me to give it a go when I’m next up there.
