- Grace Potter & The Nocturnals perform "The Lion The Beast The Beat" and "Never Go Back" live at the Farm Aid concert in Hershey, Pennsylvania on September 22, 2012. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

Not sure what shows you go to, but I have never been to a show where they didn't play instruments..
I First saw Grace Potter perform The Bands, " I Shall be Released" (written by B. Dylan) At the " Love For Levon" tribute concert, 10/03/12, at the Izod Ctr. East Rutherford, NJ. She was playing, the Hammond organ, and received one of the largest ovations of the night for her phenominal performance. I started following her on You Tube, and after seeing her perform with the Nocturnals, saw that she & the band were the real deal, & saw that she was a multi Instrument playing musician, with the voice, that was reminiscent of a young Grace Slick, Debbie Harry, and also a young Janis (before years of vocal chord destruction from the Southern Comfort, with a little Stevie Nicks thrown in. The band also write their own songs, which is another rarity these days, and she has guestperformed with Warren Haynes, both with Gov't Mule, & the A B B, and a host of other artists. My son & I saw her at the State Theat. , New Brunswick, NJ, Sept 8, 2013, for my 60 th Birthday. I bought the tickets and gave my son a free night, (W/O Wife & Kids ).
In spite of having degenerative disc disease, Arthritis of the spine , osteoporosis, & walking with a cane I stood for the 2 3/4 hrs. show, including a 3 song encore. That band is super talented and know how to rock. It was one of the best concerts of my life. If she gets to your area, make a point to sewe her. She is one of those rare gems That shine brightly. Rock on. Peace !!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Sound was horrible! Great band though!
They were one guitar short for half the song.. They are (were.. ugh) a tight band!
1st song sounds like a monitor feed or something...the 2nd just sounds wrong lol
