met him last monday night @ Roberts in Nashville. he sat watched the band intently till round 130am, then the lead singer asked if he would sit in for a few and end the night with them... he did, and he just absolutely killed it with like 10 people in the place, thats including the bartenders. the man is the absolute real deal. great and humble person too. it was a night i will remember forever.

Seems like the guy that does it for the love of the music, not just getting pussy. Saw him with Allman Bros in 96 in memphis, was a great show

The notes Jack plays I can't seem to find on my guitar. To call him a master would be short changing him. Easily the most underrated, unknown and under appreciated guitar player in the country...

Jimi played a Strat with ceramic magnets. Now days most have alnico magnets except the lower end squiers. It works for Jack.

Extremely informative. I've been listening to early British rock and blues since around 1967. Man, Jack Pearson has encompassed everything I've listened to from, say, March, 1967 to present. I'm stuck on that old 12 bar blues, but now I'm inspired. After seeing this, I hope I don't burn all my guitars before I can pick them up and try to apply some of what he has showed and explained in this video...

My first electric guitar was a Squier Affinity Strat with a shitty Squier Champ amplifier. The guitar is a player for sure, once I learned how to do my own setups I was off to the races. It still is my knock-around guitar, I play it all the time twelve or thirteen years later. It has a great feel and it’s resonant and light, the pickups aren’t great but they aren’t bad at all.

Great video! I read Jack's interview in Guitar Player this summer. Last year I came across a Squire strat in a pawn shop that was made in Korea, old & beat for $150. Flamed neck and it sounds better than my Custom Shop Fenders. Yes it is not the same quality but the tone & volume can't be beat. The only guitar that comes close is my Jeff Beck strat with the Hot Noiseless stacked single coils. I/m not sure about the wiring but man I ain't takin' it apart unless I have too. Don't want to break the magic. I originally bought it for my daughter whos' just starting out. Got her a nice Ibanez nylon string instead and, she's real happy with it. Anyhow. Similar stories and out comes. Amazing coincidence.

Tinnitus is bad for a musician but I found something worse after one day running a chainsaw and that is carpal tunnel in my left hand. Painful and slowed me down when I was making some good progress at that time. Now chainsaws come with warnings about carpal tunnel. It is quite painful.

Jack Pearson's gibson es 125 sounds incredible plugged into your polytone amplifier! Gibson guitar company should bring back the basic 125 with one p90 pickup. A single pickup was good enough for Herb Ellis and other great guitarists!
