I’ve been playing a very long time and I can’t think of another player who loves the guitar more than Jack. It shows in his face the entire time he’s holding it. And, buy, he can really, really play! Every style and every type of music. He’s truly something else!
@@topografer honestly for me it’s about the feel. I work at a guitar wholesaler and have picked up a lot of squiers and they can sound really good. But a lot of them don’t feel great. It’s also worth mentioning that a big factor is that Jack has a bad back and originally was drawn to Squires because they’re very light. He just lucked out and realized they’re actually pretty good.
Just wow, his touch on the guitar is amazing and the way he gets all those sounds is insane. Incredible player and totally great sense of humor thanks for sharing this!
Jack Pearson is the man that The Rolling Stones prophesied and sang about, Jack Pearson was born in a crossfire hurricane, he howled at the morning driving rain, but it is alright now, in fact it is a gas, it’s alright now he is Jumping Jack Flash Pearson, one of the best guitar players in the world.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone more versatile and a master at all of it…what he does with a slide isn’t even human…so happy to finally discover Him, truly an inspirational player…and I can’t figure out why he isn’t more widely known… Yep he said it, “My hero, Roy Buchanan”,that explains it all!!!
I seen this amazing player on the Gregg Allman tribute. It has been a few years and I have always wondered who he was! Now I know, he is one of the best guitarists I have ever heard and such a sweetness about him. God bless Jack Pearson!
Jack's a fabulous player with a velvet touch. He makes it look so easy but that level of playing takes decades to achieve. It's also great great to see him get a lovely tone out of relatively inexpensive guitar. When I worked with Jeff Healey he also played Squiers and he made them sound fantastic. Most of your tone lives in your hands.
Saw Jack with the Allman Brothers at the Beacon in NYC may have been 1997.... I'm old enough to have seen Duane play three times before he passed... Jack's playing reminded me a lot of Duane's...they both could swing.....playing straight and with the slide.... Jack's an excellent guitarist....
Very inspirational. I've been obsessed with music and guitar my whole life and have been playing guitar since the age of 10 or so. I just have this burning desire to play every day and night but I'm working as a plumber for a living. I desperately need to play music.
A very important moment in American art, strong humble kind and magnetic to his own root, with profound appreciation and respect, inspiration for the troubled heart ♥️
Jack Pearson doesn't even have a Wikipedia page, that's how under the wire he is. I would never have heard about him unless other guitarists had raved about him. What a great player to discover. He proves both that enthusiasm counts and that sound is all in the hands.
Just the perfect kind of guitar teacher I need - chops of DOOM and when he speaks he sounds just like a good old boy from the deep south!! You go Jack Pearson, just wish I knew about him forty years ago!
Jack seems like a great guy as well as a great player. I know this is dating me, but he immediately reminded me (looks wise) of one of lead singers of 3 Dog Night. He's humble and love the fact that he shows you don't have to spend mucho bucks on your gear to sound good! :)
If you could hear velvet ,that was a little of what it tastes like hearing . Oh my goodness , I thinking Jacks playing scrambled my senses . Cry baby fingers and a natural born comic. This guy is an eyebrow lifting listen . Man and that’s a Squier , wow great sound , amazing sustain. Really inspiring improvisation.
Just found out about Jack by accident and have a new favourite guitarist 😂. I was sick of seeing loads of videos about how you need to have all This expensive gear and a fender or Gibson to sound pro. Then this guy comes along with a Bullet strat and sounds as good as hendrix.
I was just listening to an interview where he said something by Django was one of his desert island records, and you can definitely hear the influence on his rendition of All of Me at the end.
One of the cool parts about Jack is that he's quite willing to share his limitations or challenges in playing (like not always getting harmonics right.) His downhome attitude is in stark contrast to lots of rock star guitarists who display hubris. He's in the league of the iconic figures, yet insists on not being just an electonic hero image, but a real person, with real ability and real challenges. He is the antithesis of Hollywood. The fact that he insists on playing humble, economy guitars is another one of his cool features. In a society full of people seeking status through associating themselves with prestige brand name items, Jack insists on not doing that. That's mighty damned cool. He's giving a de facto lesson that your soulfullness is more important than what brand of consumer goods you own.
humble guitars set up by the best techs in Nashville...first I head of Jack was when he did that short stint with the Allman Bros. Dickey Betts said he either had to hire Jack or take lessons from him...haha
From touring pro to struggling six string slinger everybody can learn from Jack Pearson. Disarmingly unassuming yet always an inexhaustible source of inspiration. The greatest known unknown.
What an endorsement, my Squier is fun to play and gets as much time as my other guitars. It just has a great feel to me and sounds incredible (the tone, not my playing).
Not only a great guitar lesson but also a kick in the nuts to all guitar-gear-headstock snobs out there. I mean for god sake, the guy plays a Squier Affinity not some 5k custom shop Strat
He holds the plectrum between his 2nd and 3rd fingers when not using. Like a lot of great players, his playing hand thumb is way over the neck! Throw the manual out the window! He hardly uses his playing hand little finger [except for octaves/chords]. It's not fair on us mortals, but it's all good.
iS THAT THE 125 DOLLAR SQUIER YOUR NEPHEW GAVE YOU MISTER PEARSON? It is amazing I found out he uses many INdonesian Squiers even on the Allman Bros Tribute album...'
Jack Pearson has been blowing guitar players minds for decades!!!! It DOES NOT get any better than Jack!
Ichika nito is sick. Ichika plays crappy guitars like jack pearson does fender squire.
What a gentle musician. Squier should be proud.
Just found Jack. Absolutely magnificent, down to earth, great in every way. Thankful i have Jack to learn from.
Best guitar player in Nashville using a squier! It's in the hands not in the brands!! Great guy and so humbling to watch and enjoy!
so true..this dude is the real deal. I could watch him play and talk all day. cool video
He’s a killer!! I have to say that Squire sounds ok to me. Not great, but in his hands anything would sound great !
@@jimraygilliam see him live, you'll change your opinion. He's amazing. 3rd and Lindsley.
He’s the best. But to be fair he plays through a very nice custom amp that does A LOT of leg work for that squier lol.
@@Ironworthstriking Funny, all his guitars sound the same through that amp... it's the indian, not the arrow!
What a fantastic guitar player and human being. It was a pleasure to watch this, thank you Jack.
He's more than an incredible player and person. He's therapy for the soul. I feel at peace when I I watch this.
Great Jack
Love from Florida 😊
If you love guitar...you loved that. I know I did! Thanks for sharing!
Love! Thank you

Maybe Chris Cain’s love for it?
He and Jack together would be a Show! 2 of the happiest 🎸
So fun to listen to him and watch too, incredible!
Jack Pearson rocking the world with that squire while i ordered a 2k custom strat just to account for incompetence
Right???

What a wonderful person, he's so humble but man, what a player! Thanks for sharing this, it's amazing.
Jack reminds me of my guitar mentor. He always wanted to play, and he always had a slide and a pick in his pocket.

Great video, thanks so much for posting
The absolute best on 🎸...
The right hand is beyond relaxed!
A great guitarist can play any guitar and sound like himself. It’s the connection between artist and instrument, not the cost of the guitar.🎸🇺🇸
Damn... I wish Jack would chill out and relax.
Yeah....so hyper....ha ha
he looked pretty relaxed here
If any guitar player has ever been in complete and absolute control of his instrument that's Jack Pearson.
and he still practices everyday.

Pharmer David that's a damn expensive amp and the most important part of the sound

Jack plays what's right, not "look at me" solo's! Absolute sonic genius, boy his playing is so tasteful. Wish I had him as my teacher.
In the world today its nice just to hear a guy with humility that really is amazing! George Benson is also this way!
I got to meet George about 15 years ago. He was one of the nicest, most humble and appreciative people I've ever run into in my life.
Thank you for such a great guitar channel .....luv the content
Fantastic, genius guy
What a pleasure
Jack is awesome, be like Jack!!! 😀👍
Exactly!
If more people would be like jack this would be a better place!😎
What a talent and squier are great guitars!
Now Dude's gonna make me dig out my old Wes Montgomery, and Joe Pas vinyl.
A lot of their vocabulary included in that opening piece.

Gotta say...next to Wes himself, JP has some tasty uses of the octaves.
I love Jack!
Off the scale stuff. Love you, Jack.
I think he said at one point he picked it up second hand for $ 87. Not $ 5000, not $3000, not $ 1000 but $ 87. Now that is a player.
