If you’re seeing this in 2021 I wrote a book! It’s called, Finding Joy in Loneliness - Experiencing True Joy in the Midst of Difficult Seasons.
If you are about to go through military life or you already are, I would encourage you to read it! It’s faith based, but I truly believe anyone can get something out of it! Love you guys! ❤️ amzn.to/35qYr6Q

Before I started dating a marine, I really had to ask myself if dating a military man would be for me. I finally decided, I could. I definitely can wait for him because I know it would be so worth it. As for anyone who literally just wants to date someone just cause their in a military please do not do that. It’s not a fairytale. It truly is hard when along the way you gotta learn that there will be times you won’t be able to talk to them every single day. I’ve also learned how much commitment, communication, and trust that’s needed. If you have God centered in your relationship you guys will truly last. ❤️ God is love and love is eternal.

I don’t like the statement “As a Christian I don’t feel lonely, because the lord is always with me.”
Because I am too a Christian and do believe the lord is always with us.
But feeling lonely has nothing to do with religion, and I feel lonely all the time, and no it’s not “A faith test” it’s human nature.
Everyone feels lonely, because emotion is human nature.
But as for this video, it was good.

    • @BritCon2

Wappy Laughy Thanks for your comment! I 100% agree! This was 20 year old Brittani who was young and naive haha. In my newer videos I address my struggle with loneliness and how God has used that to deepen my relationship with Him. Also how we were created for relationship with the Father and so loneliness is a natural occurrence to our separation from Him. Thanks for pointing this out though. Wish I would have spoken this differently, but had no idea this video would be seen by so many people haha.

    • @CRISMELY

I could agree. I dont feel lonely because the Lord fulfills it. But I do miss him. But don't feel lonely. God has told me before, "You shouldn't feel lonely, I'm always with you." But of course we should or could miss them. ♡♡♡ But I love it. It is always blissful to see him. Known him for 11 years. Dated for 2 years. He just left back to the Fort today. 😍 I believe God can help with loneliness if we ask. Why wouldn't God give us that? He is the God of the impossible! But I still understand what you mean. Depends on the person I guess?

As a Army retiree and been married for 37 years a military relationship can work. My wife faced most of what you said. However I also told her that there will be times that I will be gone extended length of time. Not because I want to but it is duty. Also told her that I could deploy and come back really injured or in a box. On my deployments she wore out some carpet praying. Thank you for your service. Yours may be harder than his.

I’ve been feeling overwhelmed with my feelings lately. I’m engaged to a military man who I love so much. I’ve never done long distance before, so already that was something I didn’t know how to do and something I was inexperienced in. It’s been so so hard. The hardest battle of my life. If I didn’t see a future with him I would have raised my flag and left. But I haven’t and I don’t plan on it. I want to be with him and I see a future with him. A lot of things hit home while watching this video because I’ve felt and dealt with every single thing mentioned. Right now he’s out on the field and I have no way of communicating or hearing from him and vice versa. I miss him. He has another week out there. This is preparation for when he’s deployed in about a month or even less. I’m scared that I won’t get to see him before they send him off to the Middle East. I can’t stand when he talks about his will and whose names are on it. The thought of something happening to him while he’s out there brings tears to my eyes and I start crying. It’s the hardest subject for me to talk about or even hear about. I just want him home and within arms reach. I’m trying to remain strong. But it’s not easy. I’m just glad I’m not the only one who has gone through this and all the feelings it comes with. Knowing I’m not alone makes me feel less lonely. 🥺

  • @shadeenah8791

I dated the most amazing man for a month in person and then he deployed. currently he’s been deployed for 3 weeks. His job is super stressful as he works with explosives. I know a month is not a lot of time but from day one This man made me feel seen in a way no one else has but recently his work has had him busy and I’ve been hearing from him less. I know he’s not ignoring me but I can’t help feeling so neglected. I am trying to make a decision if I can handle this or not. I don’t want to hurt his feeling (part of me feels like he would understand). I also feel like I can’t come to him every time I feel like throwing in the towel otherwise he will make the decision for me. I guess I’m just here because I’m trying to decide if it’s worth it. 😢 this sucks.
*edit* i wrote the post above in the morning. It’s the end of the day now and I decided he is absolutely worth it. 🥰

I don’t know how people do it. I really don’t. I get really attached to people easily. I just had to leave a purely genuine girl for this reason because I knew I couldn’t handle a situation like this. And trust me when I say I feel like a complete asshole thinking about it. But I’m hoping one day she can understand that me being at home and constantly having to think about the love of my life being gone for months on end. All military couples I wish you guys the best. And I wish nothing but wonderful futures for you guys. Way to hold it down for one another :)

Brit+Con : WOW your video and the way you said on it are really amazed me!!!
Especially when you said: I never feel alone because I’m Christian and I have God! This is the point that I was waiting for from your words!
Yes! I totally agree with you! We have the big God that accompanies us 24 hours! Even comfort us and keep us safe and feel loved!
To be Christian must be very loyal to our spouse and God!
I’m proud to be Christian as well!
I’m married a navy guy! I was in that situation as well even worst. I was in my country before he took me here.
You can’t tell how difficult it is on having the long distance relitionship, with the different countries and time zones! But thankfully I have a Great great God that made everything work for both of us!
      God is really Good!!!
Keep praying and believing in God.
May God bless your marriage girl 👍

You can be alone and not lonely because loneliness is a state of mind, it doesn't matter how many people you have around you. I think feeling lonely is more or less an inside job. We need learn to be fine with our own company. We can be our own best friend, but also our worst enemy.

Hii! I randomly decided to look up "dating someone in the marines" and when I clicked on your video I could almost immediately tell you were a Christian :) I got so much out of this video and I just want to thank you because it explains a lot! I have a friend that I like who is in the marine corps and everything you said is 100% accurate. I try to encourage him in the Lord, pray for and with him and talk to him when I can but I am a lonely person, I wish I could talk to him all the time but this video taught me that I have to find peace in the loneliness, and maybe I need to talk to God more :) He is a great friend, and even if we don't end up more than friends I will still support him and love him no matter what, because when God puts people on your life he puts them in there for a reason :)

But it's like you say if your going to have a military man in your life it's a different life. You have to be ready for what comes in their life. It's military life either accept them or dont! Patience , love , care, trust, is vital of what is required if your dating a military man .

I’ve been dating my military guy for about 4 months and even though it’s not traditional like civilian men, I can tell you, he is probably the greatest man I’ve ever met. Sweet, attentive, honest, mature, driven, a gentleman, and he has shown me that he makes it a point for us to have open and thorough communication. And he does all of that as I see him on the weekends. He’s currently on a sub for a week and this is my first time not being able to talk to him everyday like I’m used to but it’s not as bad as I thought. I’m a nursing student so I currently have enough to keep me busy but I can’t wait till he comes back so we can go out again, I really enjoy my time with him. If he asked me to be his lady/gf, I wouldn’t even hesitate

Thank you so much for sharing this video. I’m dating with a marine officer, and sometimes it’s so hard and lonely. Sometimes I have doubts such as he doesn’t love me because he’s not there when I need him, or my priority is so low to him... I’ve been feeling so down for an entire week, but I watched this video, and all I’m feeling rn is gratefulness and appreciations for you, my boyfriend, and my best friends. I’m not even an American, but I’m willing to go through this for the love of my life. Thank you.

We’ve been going out for years and i’m just so scared this could be a breaking point :(((

I think we all have that fear.. and I want to say that it's okay to feel that way since it's a rational feeling most people does. It's alright to be scared from time to time but let's remember we all have priorities and the key is trust, communication, and acceptance.. I know it's hard but if you both believe in each other.. there's nothing we can't do.. fighting!!
Edit: and when I know he loves you truly and dearly there's no need to worry because you will know and feel it

Hi Sophie, I completely understand what you're going through. I would always compare myself to other women my boyfriend knew and I would criticize myself for not being as nice as them or as confident as them, etc. It really took a toll on my mental health and there would even be times where I would be withdrawn from our relationship because I thought he would be happier with someone else. I eventually broke down and told my boyfriend everything and we talked about it. And ever since we had that conversation, I have absolutely no doubts in his commitment to me and I trust him wholeheartedly. What I'm getting at is, if this is a continuing concern for you, don't hold it in like I did. You'll only end up ruining your mental health and your relationship slowly. Talk with him. Voice your concerns. If he is genuinely committed to you then he will make sure that you understand that he is committed to you and only you. Its natural for self doubt to arise but if it ever gets to a magnitude such as this, talk about it. Even if it's the same concern. It may take some time. It is hard. But the ending result is so, so worth it. I wish you luck!

Hi Von, I am a casting producer who is working on a military show about long distance dating. We are going through the ups and downs of it and my job is to find people who are going through it. Below is the casting notice for the series. If you are interested, just email me.
Do you want to tell your story about the ups and downs of dating someone in the military?
Have you only met each other face-to-face a handful of times or haven’t met at all?

Then this is the show for you
A new TV series for a major cable network are looking for people in a long-distance relationship in the military. We want to go inside what it’s like to date someone stationed in a different part of the world. Whether you are both in the military at different locations or you are working a 9-5 job while your partner is serving, when it comes to matter of the heart, how does distance and limited contact impact your relationship when you’re in love with someone who isn’t always close by. I actually always avoid dating military men because didn’t want the misery of no knowing if my husband would one day not come home that huge fear made me not pursue many guys specially cuz I live between I used to live near an Air Force base. Little did I know that the guy I dated for 4 years would end up wanting to join the Air Force. We got married and now I have to go through what I avoided cuz it’s too late I’m already too in love with him to ever leave him.

always grew up in a military based unit, dating one is completely different. it will be one of the hardest and most awarding periods. get close to his friends' girls in the squad it makes it so much easier to connect with people who understand, civilians never understand no matter how you explain. Watch documentaries to understand what they are going through (a ton on netflix, showtime, HBO) because it helps you understand even more.

It takes a special kind of woman to be a military gf or wife. I've been around Soldiers for the past 32 years, was a faithful Army wife for 23 years, and went through 8 deployments, very familiar with ptsd and their triggers and what to avoid, their were plenty of nights after deployments when i woke up with a knife on my throat, due to the flashback the ex was having... tbi and all the sacrifices the military lifestyle comes with, had plenty of long distance, weekend and cross country relationships, raising the kids on my own but wouldn't wanna miss it for the world.... I knew the military lifestyle was my thing the very first time I've ever stepped food on base when i was 18. And you also learn that no news are good news.... The military lifestyle isn't for everyone

I’m so proud of my boyfriend for the decision he made in joining the Air Force and I know that God is gonna use this time apart to strengthen us individually and as a couple. I was talking with a Marine, and I know him since high school. We had been talking for a couple months now, and he had finally decided to ask me out but I was scared to lose him after he would get deployed. He said that wouldn’t happen, but just about a week ago, he decided to stop talking to me and he said he needed to focus on the marines and that I was a distraction for him. It really broke my heart. I was going to wait for him because I really do love him, but I feel like I already lost him. I feel like here’s nothing I could really do anymore. I’m really thankful that you made this video.

Feel you sister! 🙌🏼 but that love can overcome everything! We met in college, became friends, had to stop going due to family/financial issues, we continued great communication, became best friends without seeing us face to face, he joined the military but we continued talking, after 2 and a half years without seeing us he told me he had feelings for me and came back to town to meet up with me and talk, next day he asked me out, we started dating long distance ( IT IS A LOT OF WORK AND REALLY FREAKING HARD AT TIMES) but we fell in love more and more each day. ( and yes, videocalls are heaven sent for couples doing long distance, mail becomes very important too!) months after I went and visit him for Christmas break and he proposed 😍, and finally a couple of weeks ago we got married the day after I graduated with my Bachelors in Biomedical Sciences! I will be moving in on post in Colorado next month! I'm so happy to see that there are other girls living similar experiences and are happy with their decisions ( just like you!) Love your videos 👏🏼💗

But then after that every other Saturday he will be able to make phone calls for one hour. After he graduates you both can speak all the time then because he'll have his cell phone back.

I really love that you’re a Christian and have the same views on morale and love as I do. Life can be hard but it sure isn’t as hard with the Lord working in you. Great video! Stay positive, stay humble, and keep that child-like faith!

Thank you, I'm a future soldier currently dating before I leave to go to basic and I worry a lot about this. I'll keep your video in mind.
