This is why I love your videos because you're a perfumer chemist breaking down the science on a level that I can understand. I've learned so much from your channel and always look forward to each video. The only regret I have is not being able to smell any of your fragrances yet. Thanks Aaron for all of your content.
This is one of the few fragrance channels. I actually trust Aaron doesn't Fluff or Embellish when reviewing a fragrance. He's Clear, Concise and honest. I have made many purchases based off of his recommendations and reviews. All were 100% right on the money. Not a single regret. I started purchasing Aarons own fragrances. Unfortunately Got put on pause temporarily., I hope the shipping situation gets settled. I have many more to collect and Appreciate!
I love your honesty and thoughtfulness Aaron. I agree. With such a high price the consumer should be given more. Unfortunately with designer names that are so well known (like Tom Ford), the price is justified by the brand whether the quality is there or not. And to be honest, many of us wouldn't know the difference in materials being used if it weren't for such a skilled artist and craftsmen like yourself speaking on it. So thank you Aaron.
No sir😂 we do not have our bottles of oud wood parfum because the price is absolutely unbelievable and I'd never pay that much for a fragrance. And I love fragrances but that price is ridiculous. I wouldn't even wanna try it because if I Like that would be terrible for me. I'm not even willing to pay 200 for 50ml. I think it's just insane. But I love your reviews definitely one of my top 3 favorite reviewers I like to watch. Thank you

Love your reviews. Thank you for your honesty, teaching, and coaching on fragrances. For me....Way too expensive for an average buyer like myself and at lower ml. Sorry, I can't get past that no matter how great it is. Maybe if I was a moviestar I could afford it. Or if someone gifted it to me. On to the next vid.
Gotta love how you get into the nuances of soaking the agarwood chips...I totally agree on CO2 ouds (love Grandawood's) and "new gen" oils being way more approachable (as you demonstrate in your own work!) and a heck of a lot more friendly for blending. Thanks for taking the time and great breakdown on the raw materials, Aaron!
I got Oud Wood about 5-6 years ago, still a great fragrance But for this price there are other things to try and explore. Love your work mate & your fragrances, I listen to your reviews while i work. Your skill, passion and enthusiasm shine's through👍
I'm not sure anyone provides as rich a description of the chemical reasons for a frag working/or not working and combining it with the sensual impact it has on our brain. Very well done. Might buy a decant. TF prices have gotten a bit much for me when compared to the quality (Vanilla Sex), but this one sounds like it's excellent....but too pricey. Stinks because I love his work, whether Private Edition or not. Great review, thanks.
It's a very rare skill to be both extremely expert on something at a high level but also be able to explain it to a layman like me in terms I can grasp. Great review.
That's very kind of you to say that. I always try to explain concepts in simple, easy to understand way. It always burns my brain after a review. Thank you
A very interesting and informative video. Thank you Aaron. I have TF Oud Wood EDT and its interesting to know the background for its production. TF Oud Wood is my goto fragrance for a night out clubbing.
Pure class and excellence as always , as for this fragrance all I can say is I paid £320 for aventus absolu and after wearing it I'm not convinced it's worthy of the price tag(but at least its 75ml). I feel this fragrance is giving off that vibe it's just not worthy of the price. I would rather buy amouage black iris or something similar that gives that wow factor plus they are more value for money. I think £320 for 50ml it needs to blow your socks off !
Aaron, one day you should create something containing this DNA with your touch, because TF isnt gonna do for us. If there is anyone, its you! Greetings from Poland!
Great, quick education on oud. I'd just like to add that some ouds are so rich in oil that they don't even need to soak very long compared to cheaper woods. Also, some ouds can smell like a barnyard without fermenting with oxygen, but it's not the same smell as the fermented ones. I though Oud Wood was always a great representation of pleasant smelling oud
I agree with you Aaron. If other fine raw materials such as silver, gold & diamonds are certified, then Oud, Ambergris, or other rare materials should be too. Unfortunately, The Estée Lauder Companies are even bigger than Tom Ford, which they bought last year, so I’m sure the merri-go-round of reformulations to amp up the profit, & dilute the fragrance, will begin soon. Then, niche perfumers are left to struggle against these monopoly - like businesses.
Thats a good way of differentiating things. If there is valid evidence of the virgin angels tears then its a reasonable price. That puts it more on the brands to be transparent.
ATH Tobac is the best Oud fragrance I’ve come across, so if I had to pick between Oud Wood and Tobac it would be a no brainier. Plus Tobac has way better longevity.
Aaron I bought a fragrance recently that is pretty good. It's listed as unisex but the leather makes it swing masculine imo. It's Spirito Fiorentino by Tiziana Terenzi. It's very unique , atleast it doesn't remind me of anything else really. Orange, Lilly of the valley, saffron, ambergris, sandlewood, birch, leather.
Tom Ford perfumes have gone massively downhill since bought from EL! The first releases were beast, now it is not worth it any more! Better go with Xerjoff or Amouage with that amount of money for Amouage Interlude 54 Thanks Aaron for this review! You’ve been fantastic as always love !
I don’t think anyone who’s shopped TF lately is shocked at this price point lol. It’s hard for me to justify buying their fragrances because it’s a designer house with niche prices and personally, I haven’t been that impressed with anything I’ve sampled from them recently. Still probably gonna sample this tho 😅. Thanks Aaron!
Top tier as always Aaron and I'm loving the look for this video! The longer hair finally makes sense ❤ the Vincent Vega vibes are immaculate. I'm so torn on this release, of course I love Oud Wood but everything to do with Tom Ford and Estee Lauder these days feels like customer exploitation. I wish you would do a "homage" to Oud Wood. No one is asking for a clone but I just know you would do a better job.
Thanks for your review Aaron. I was awaiting your thoughts on this new Oud Wood Parfum. You told me what I needed to know and you did so in a very tactful manner. Thanks ❤
My favorite oud i had was a attar. It was called Cambodi. It was ❤️. No fecal, just a sorta smooth slightly medicinal then arid slightly floral and woody. It evolved. Really fascinating stuff. I wish i had more. I only got to try it once 😊

ive got the EDP and Intense, so definitely will be adding Parfum to the collection. would have liked it if you compared all three. but as i remember, i don't think you like the intense?
Would love to see you pick up Woody Oud, one of the best dups of the EDP, and compare it to the other two to see if you can almost get the same thing at a fraction of the price. Thanks and keep up the phenomenal work!
I keep saying (and hope) that it would be nice if Aaron or one of the other good reviewers (like School of Scent or Justin Copeland for example) does a review of the Cartier Les Hueres Voyage uses. Its hard to find sites that do samples of Oud & Santal, Oud & Amber or Oud & Vanille but despite the price being similar to TF Oudwood Parfum, most online reviews seem to think its worth it? Even the discovery set is $210 US so a review from a boss like Aaron might help oush me over the edge.
I usually draw the line at $340 like with Creed Absolu, but if this is better than the OG like that one, I will cop. I’ll prob just wait till it hit discounters tho
The price. We are looking at these expensive fragrances from working class/middle class perspectives, and it’s expensive. But Tom Ford and a lot of the other houses are luxury brands that were originally marketed to rich people, and to them, 300 quid isn’t a lot, they’ll spend that on a t-shirt that they’ll wear a few times. I’m not defending these prices btw, it just is what it is.

To this day it is my only empty bottle within my collection…. Soon to be imbue .. ( classic smooth formulation of GUCCI POR HOMME II ) done by Parfums vintage
