I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Kastle DX85. I recently purchased a pair after skiing the MX series for a number of years. (Haven't been on snow with them yet) As I understand it, they have sheets of metal and Should have a relatively high top end. I'm hoping I'll get the great carving performance I know from my MX series but with a little more versatility and user friendliness.. I like the fact that the tail s a little bit rounder than the MX. I found the MX to be quite a handful off trail and in bumps despite the fact I'm a pretty strong skier..
Any experience with this product? Seems a lot of people overlook it...

The DX85 is a nice ski but a little long in tooth ... not that anything is wrong with that, quality does not go out of style in this case. the DX is an MX light ... but a last generation MX. It will do everything you ask of it and it will do it withought any fanfare. Please don't ready any of that as a negative, the DX85 is a great ski that suffers from middle child syndrome and falls in the Kastle collection between the MX 83 and the PX 81 and even the FX 86.

@@skitalkdotcom Thanks for the honest feedback. I truly loved the MX series. But my skiing style is a bit more relaxed (but still fast, if that makes sense) I suppose I'm 2nd guessing my purchase a little bit before the start of this season. I still have time to get something else. Budget is not really a concern.
Will the dx bite on true hard pack/frozen days in NY, VT, NH? I have 4 other skis for every other condition. But this is kind of my main ski. It's had o be able to Hold an edge on the firmest days, but I still want something I can ski reasonably in the bumps and tighter New York and Vermont trees..(mx tail was tough in the woods!)
Any other recommendations? A lot of skis that are between 80 and 85 mm seem to be be targeted towards more demediate skiers.
I was thinking maybe Salomon Stance 84, or Rossi Exp 82ti?
I Want an east coast all mountain ski with a heavy frontside bias.....must have metal😁

Did not share layup or materials differences between PX/MX products. Unfortunately not in informative comparison for those who want or demand a frontside ski.
