    Definitely one of the best install videos I've seen. Clear, to the point, shows the tricky parts up close, glances over the easy stuff. Thanks!!!

    TIP for anyone who installs these themselves. Its much easier to put all the detail/dummy hardware on before you install the fenders. Its kind of a hassle to try to get the nuts on all the bolts after its installed. It should be listed on the directions on the first page instead of the last IMO.

      Thank you so much for mentioning this... Holy crap it would've been a horrible experience had I not done that first

    Just came across this video. I agree about these things fading horribly bad. Also I found out the hard way after about 3 times of trying to fix the lighting issue for the marker lights. Mine didn't make use of the factory bulb either...but I ended up measuring the marker light and purchasing 2 sealed led marker lights that were an exact fit. I did this because I had issues with the bulbs constantly burning out and ended up frying the socket and wires. This was due to mud just being packed up in there with no where to go. I just recently did the led swap 4 months back so I can't give a good review but we had some crazy snow in western PA this year and I was out in it and not 1 issue at all. Also I installed these on my 2 door with the gas cover. Keep in mind the 4 door gives more clearance so the flares bolt right up. I had to notch my flare so it would sit in place. Turned out really nice. You would have to know it was done to even notice it. Hopefully this helps out

    William Sisko below is correct. I installed these without cutting the wires on my 2017 JKU.

    Great video, what type replacement bulbs are you used for the side lights? Anybody have an answer? I have just replaced the flat light fixtures but need to replace the bulbs Thanks out there if anybody can help me.

    I know its a little late but my side marker lights are different from the ones you used and will not hold the factory light. It came with "Female Terminal X4" that mount onto a "male terminal that holds the bulb then mounts into the marker light housing. My question for you is where can I get that same one piece marker light housing that will hold the factory light from ???

    Question, does water collect in the "pockets" on the flairs?

    A few questions on these:
    1. Do the small accent bolts go through any sheet metal? (Doesn’t appear so, but unsure.)
    2. How sturdy is the plastic, is it more or less rigid than stock? Will they flap at highway speeds?
    3. Is an untextured, paintable version available?
    Thanks in advance!

      1. The accent bolts only go through the flare.
      2. The plastic is very sturdy, we have had our JK on the highway and did not have any flap.
      3. Here is the link for the paintable flares! www.cjponyparts.com/rugged-ridge-front-bumper-kit-xhd-with-winch-mount-base-over-rider-hoop-standard-ends-jeep-wrangler-jk-2007-2018/p/1154050/

      Smokey the Jeep, so those stainless steel bolts go only in the plastic and not into the body?

    • @SmokeytheJeep
      @SmokeytheJeep 6 лет назад

      Mike Healy Yeah. I’ve done more research, and confirmed what CJ said. They’re decorative only, and don’t reach the paint.

    I saw safety glasses were needed but never saw you wear them, where do they come into play?

    Make it easier on yourself and install the decorative bolts and nuts first.

    Make sure to use waterproof butt connectors, or shrink tape on regular ones.

    Good vid, mediocre flares. I recently removed these and installed aluminum. These Rugged Ridge flares faded horribly after a year. Also, particularly on the rear, the rubbed the paint to the metal from dirt getting stuck behind them.

    Dont need to cut the wires in America. That is for EU jeeps.

    • @CJBroncoF150
      @CJBroncoF150  6 лет назад

      You have to extend the wires to make them work, or else i would have left it alone, thanks for watching!
