- It took Darth Vader twenty years to kill his former master, Obi-Wan Kenobi. So what did the Dark Lord of the Sith feel in that moment?

In the short story There Is Another, we learn that Darth Vader - or more importantly the part of him that was still Anakin Skywalker - felt complete and utter loneliness and sorrow. The final connection to his old life was gone.

@Chris Vaughan Actually in the book called ,,From a certain point of view" it is stated that old Ben wasn't planning to die in that fight. But feeling that Vader is stronger than him he felt through the force that he will be more meaningful as a force ghost. So it wasn't like Ben was stronger and he gave in because he was planning it. Vader just overpowered him and force gave him easy way out.

Vader knew kenobi wouldn’t just let him be defeated if he weren’t to gain from it, thats why he was so confused and why he checked the robes, from that moment he was in constant fear kenobi might return one day in some form, which he did in the end, to train and mentor his son even more

In normal star wars you only become one with the force as you die, and in some comics the cloak has a burn mark on it

When Kenobi disappeared, Vader was actually terrified. He expected there to be a body, but there want. Obi Wan told Vader that if he is struck down, he would become only more powerful, and thats exactly what happened and Vader knew it
Vader actually is scared shitless when Obi died. Seeing how powerful he became and how much stronger he was now.
Obi-wan didn't have the high ground so he finally accepted his defeat with grace!

If he had REALLY killed him, his dead body would've been laying there on the ground... But it wasn't there. It was just a pile of clothes. So where'd his body go? Well, He became ONE with the Force. So, his corporeal body is gone, but as a Force "ghost", he lives on... That's what I got from it. Everytime I'd see the movies on TV as a kid, I ALWAYS wondered what happened to his body. Nobody else just vanished and left a pile of clothes on the ground when they died. That part always used to bother me...but NOW that I think about it like this, it all makes SO MUCH MORE sense to me.
Yoda vanished when he died in ROTJ.

In the film you can see Obi’s lightsaber shaking in his hands. He didn’t want to fight Vader. And the little bit of Anakin left didn’t want to fight him.
Kenobi said “ima do what’s called a pro gamer move,” and then assimilates into the force denying Vader any victory but allowing him to think he won by that means

@@macc201026 Watch Obi-wan if you haven't yet. It'll explain for you at the end of the season, if you don't care about the show then skip down a bit and I'll explain.
**SPOILERS FOR OBI-WAN KENOBI**
At the end of season 1 Obi-Wan is headed to the location his home would be in for A New Hope and on the way force ghost Qui-Gon shows up to teach Obi-Wan the technique for becoming a force ghost because he'll need it. Although it's never explicitly stated that's the heavy implication. Not to mention in clone wars Yoda also learns how to do it at the request of ghost Qui-Gon and finishes his training on Dagobah after ROTS, but before leaving he instructs Obi-Wan to do some "training". Again heavily implied here too. The reason Qui-Gon's body was still around is because he never finished his training and you learn this in the Clone Wars series too, which is why you only see 3 Jedi who disappear when they die. Qui-Gon tells Obi-Wan that he can only manifest himself if he tries really hard or is in an area very strong in the force, so until the ending of Obi-Wan we only get disembodied voice Qui-Gon and no force ghost; however, I absolutely cannot explain how anakin learned how to do it but he did so we have to deal with that.

Vader had a rush/thrill for a moment. Then he was confused and dumbfounded. Ultimately, he became concerned that obiwan had some trick he was unaware of planned for him.
Also frustrated that he didn't know for sure that he had killed his former master or it was some alternate will of the force..
Luke did the same move in “The Last Jedi” to Kylo Ren. Maybe it’s the same, Obi-wan chilling at home using the force across the Galaxy. 😂

I was thinking would Vader not be a bit pissed because when they fought first it was Anikin 2nd time it might have been the suit but it was Anikin he fought and when he beat him Anikin died there and Vader was truly born so when they met the 3rd it was Vader when they met they had a small sparring session before obi wan decided to be one with the force.....so they truly never dueled as sith Lord vs Jedi.....but the feelings he would have felt I'd say would have had him conflicted after his last encounter with his former master.

It just wouldn’t make sense. It strains credulity enough as it is that they fought again and Kenobi let him go a second time. First go around he was afraid of falling in the lava himself + Palpatine would’ve killed him before he could’ve escaped. This time there was no excuse. Really does not make sense.
