I'm running Android x86 on my wife's old laptop and videos run fine. Maybe give that a try. I just use it once in a while for RUclips music since the CPU is really old and won't be able to handle other stuff.

FydeOS with a flash drive will run slower. But everything will also depend on your flash drive (for example, if you have USB 3.1 and the same port, then FydeOS will work much faster).

Chromium will not integrate like Chrome anymore. Google stopped that last year so it will not sync with your accounts or remember passwords.. Tbh it's not worth using chromium at all!!!
