It’s not the home owners responsibility, fault or anything. The city council men, stole their money. Maybe you can repossess his house, cars, bank accounts. In order to pay the city and residents for his mishandling of the money that was given to help people. It’s a crime and political should be ashamed!!!!!

No WAY! As long as they paid their payments, their agreement should still be valid!! Please tell me you're going to cover this hearing!!

Ok what bank collected these payments? How can they collect 20 plus YEARS worth of payments, allow for costly repairs & upgrades at the “home owners’ expense & it NOT be their home? These people should not be held accountable for someone else’s mishandling of funds ESPECIALLY in the name of the city. I’m sure these people were responsible for any city taxes for that property but now the city can just swoop in & STEAL these homes to pay off their own debt? UNFLIPPINBELIEVABLE!

This is awful. These people should not have to pay for other peoples crimes.

Another example of average citizens being taken advantage of by corporate America. Just like the bank bailouts, it was the American taxpayer (middle income) folk who had to foot that bill. This is reprehensible.

Cleveland officials only care about themselves, Cleveland is getting 4.9 MILLION dollars in 2024 for “Ohio’s dept of development,” where will that money go? I highly doubt Cleveland really does any upgrades, yea it’s flashy to have a chandelier downtown and all the arches and bells and whistles.. but the real problem is the cost of living in Cleveland and for these people who have lived in their homes forever to find AFFORDABLE LIVING in Cleveland is near to impossible.
All the costs have increased, including food, utilities, move from a almost purchased home and upgrades to a inflated cost of rent along with there children is IMPOSSIBLE even with a good career or a good degree, the truth is the city is skrewing these people and good for the ones who are taking a stand and not going quietly!!!

sucks, but sounds legal, since the city was forced to take over the leases. apply for loans to buy out your lease. you should have built up some credit, if you've been on time. good luck! :(

With any other agreement, anyone taking over that agreement has to stick to the originally signed agreement. Why would this be any different?
