Bruise Pristine lyrics:
The means are right for taking, fade to grey
Trying to be ruthless in the face of beauty
In this matrix it's plain to see
It's either you or me
Bruise
Pristine
Serene
We were born to lose
Cast a line with a velvet glove
Reading like an open book, in the hands of love
In this matrix it's plain to see
It's either you or me
Bruise
Pristine
Serene
We were born to lose
Encore [echoed]
The means are right for taking, fade to grey
Trying to be ruthless in the face of beauty
In this matrix it's plain to see
It's either you or me
Bruise
Pristine
Serene

I can remember buying this single on cassette. Yes, cassette.
+Sinessa yes i"am french and i remenber this fuckin cassette lol .... we are old my god hoooooo nooooo
That is amazing!!!
I bought the disc!
I used to listen to it on my walkman on cassette, on the train, on my way to college, back when I was going through some rebellious emo phase, now I'm just a well rounded cool as fuck guy.....and I still listen. Just not on cassette ;-)
Sinessa yeah so did I
Hard to believe Schultzberg fell into oblivion, he was like 21yo here and was an absolute beast on drums in this album.
It's crazy. This album is one of my favourite sources of drum-based audio porn. Amazing drummer for sure.
I bought this album on a whim when i was about 12 years old. I'd only heard Nancy Boy before. But i still look back now and think what an awesome drummer he was. The original sound was so raw
That's a very underrated one. More raw and true than any recent endeavour. I prefer Steve's drum style. He really lifted it
1:44 love these behind the bridge harmonics. Placebo always had an atmospheric element to it.
The drumming on this is fucking tight
Easily my favourite Placebo track! Listen to that drumming!
freddybeer yes! I like Placebo more for the drums than lyrics!
Bro fr
All that drumming
Then a lot of basing
Hey isn't that drum and base... Err NO !!!!
placebo is one of the best bands I've ever heard, they're amazing
im 56 now an i still love these guys, they just dont seem to age. go for it brian, i wish u well .xx
I bet you are 60 now....
You do the math (us)😡 Maths (UK)... 😂
This song is becoming more relevant with every year that passes. Most people are to blind to see
mmmmm these drums
Wow... Haven't heard this song in... Goodness... More than 20 years at least... Can I remember the words? Hell yes I can!! Just 13yr old me and this cd on repeat in my filthy bedroom 🤣 The best times. Thank you Placebo.
When I was a moody, disturbed 14 year old I wrote "We we're born to lose" on a seven-foot roll of butcher paper in Sharpie marker. My grandmother wondered why I didn't write "We we're born to win?" She just didn't get it.
Hahaha amazing song. The songs are so perfect with this band that you almost don't get how amazing the instrumentation is. A remarkable band.
Funny anecdote 😅
The drum work in this is absolutely stunning
Right song that. The bridge part sounds full of mystery! I dunno why but it reminds me of 'Empire Strikes Back' when they're in snow or when he's training in swamp! Started off today with Nirvana, Siouxsie + TB, New Order, Pixies, Soundgarden, AIC, Pearl Jam, Audioslave, then I got onto Placebo. Not heard em 4 awhile. Amazing how singing a Nirvana song about masturbation or listening to how in this matrix we were born to lose makes you feel empowered! : )
This song is just : BOOM!!!
this is heaven. thanks placebo omfg
I remember listening to Teenage Angst for the first time, 20 years ago.. amazing debut album!
Wasn't it an amazing debut? Clearly a band worth noticing, and when their second album was ten times better you knew it wasn't a fluke.
"En esta matriz, es fácil ver que o soy yo o eres tú".
"Nacimos para perder".
The drums on this are amazing
FIrst and Best album of Placebo !
Definitly the best track of Placebo !
Are you a turtle or an artist Raphael...
Speaks of the matrix before “The Matrix” lol awesome. Side note what a vocabulary for such a young guy!! (at the time)
Praying to the music gods that they play this on their 2023 tour bc my god…. This track is brilliant.
this album is incredible still all the way through
The means are right for taking, fade to grey

Mehmet Tunçel thank you.
WoW... 😡😡😡
I did not hear all those clearly sung lyrics myself
Thanks for the clarification...
I was also born to lose but you made me a winner...
🎖️🏆🎖️
Am i the only one who as a fixation on the drums in this song. I mean there's many way someone could had drummed this song but here it sounds like his saying something like a poeme. Lol i love it. Especially the high hat bit.. When he does the "Tsss tsss"..
Before drum machines
@@wildheart1973 Nah just a badass drummer man.
@@redherronrecords exactly my point
awesome drumming work in this album
Yeah the more time passes the more I understand the drumming has been essential to my appreciation of this album. Second album was great too but already on a different level in this regard. BY the way I bought this album + a bonus CD in 1996 and I still have it somewhere.
