  • Would a phone ban for teens do more harm than good?
A dad and safety campaigner said the government's proposals of banning the sale of smartphones to under 16s would punish children, not social media companies.
There are also concerns that the ban would weaken trust between parents and kids.

Just develop a new phone that does what it should do......Ring or text. The things that are on these devices are shocking. Any parent who gives a kid a phone under 16 obviously doesn't understand what their kids are going to be exposed to.

I don't think phones should be removed completely from children. But I think there should be more simple tech phones that children can use to just be able to connect with family and friends. I also think tech knowledge is important and maybe schools could do classes on how much time and phone safety and how best to have a balance. I think removing phones completely without a simple replacement in this day and age can leave children without a way of calling their parent or for help if they get in trouble. When I was young we didn't have the internet but we had a phone we'd take to school or out so that we could still contact our parents if we got in trouble or felt unsafe. And because we grow up without the internet when we first had it we had to learn by doing to keep ourselves safe on it because parents didn't understand it, which was a lot more unsafe than now where parents have more understanding of the internet and could then help children stay safe online.

I have found my grandchildren are better off if they don't use their phones but I would ban phones in school and only be allowed to use their phones at home for about 2 hours but Parent should be.
Looking at the history of the viewing onine I Have told my I have already told my Daughter to check The history of their phone The Internet is dangerous to children The dark web is very dangerous to children and adults
