    If you ever need just a heat source for that chamber you should look into the ceramic heat emitters they make for reptiles, they last a lot longer than normal lightbulbs. Good Luck!

    • @BradsGreenhouse
      @BradsGreenhouse  10 лет назад

      Hi Jack,
      I thought they would work great to but I tried one when I set it up. It had to much of a focused beam of heat and dried out things right below it and yet doesn't heat the air, so things outside the "heat beam" where not as warm. I ended up taking it back.

      Well, I guess it was just a matter of trial and error, I hope this new setup works for you!

    Just built my first intermediate chamber for my utricularia and lone nepenthes. Still dialing it in, though it's good to see how you've got yours set up. Maybe I wont stress out so much now when the temps rise above 80. :)

    • @BradsGreenhouse
      @BradsGreenhouse  10 лет назад

      Nana, for intermediate plants I wouldn't worry about 80°. My Highland plants get 83° before the cooling comes on. The key for Highland plants is the drop in temperature at night

    • @ShindenZero
      @ShindenZero 10 лет назад

      Hmm, well my night temps usually don't get below 70. But then I don't have a huge collection in there. U. Longifolia and a Nepenthes hybrid amongst others. I'm definitely seeing a response from the plants though, new pitchers are growing and new leaves on the Utricualria. :)

    Ya ceramic heat emitters would be a good solution, you love bubble wrap! lol

    Hello Brad I`m a Brit who finally got to retire to the Philippines and it looks like Lowland Nepenthes are the boys for me ( live in Iliocos ) so your growing tips are well worth a listen most daytime Temps are around 34C and 25-28C at night so I am experimenting at the moment - suggestions for Drosera please?

    I learn so much watching your videos. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and plants. I continue to see more very small sundews growing out some distance from my older sundews, all miniatures, in my bog garden. Not sure if they are from seeds or some other source. I have transplanted some for my grandson.

    What an amazing plants Brad, i just germinate some Bicalcarata seeds but seeing this makes me feel more anxious to see it grow and form their pitchers. By the way, nice Clipeata, hope one day this species can restore its numbers in nature, for now, nice plant you have there. Greetings from Mexico!!

    I just got that same greenhouse yesterday for my bday and was wondering how I could set it up as an independent greenhouse, don't have enough room for a full sized one. If you have any suggestions mainly for humidity and heat it would be much appreciated.

      I wouldn't place the little greenhouse outside in the sun with anything sensitive in it, it would heat up to fast and at night it would lose all heat and be to cold. (It least in my area). I used this one before in doors with some success.

    • @camdenswartz8078

      I live in zone seven and was thinking I could open the vent during hot days and use a heater at night. Do you think that would work?

    Hi guys, my son tells me that we can't use tap water on the carnivorous, we must use distilled water. Can anyone tell me if this is correct or is it just unique to Australia's water supplies - Brisbane to be precise.

      Hi Susan, I did a video on the topic not too long ago just check back on my Chanel, I think it was maybe once two months ago.
