    I’m currently in cdl school, extremely crappy trucks we’re using, but anyway, those 3 color lines on the side of the truck are genius and would definitely help me allot with this offset technique,I always over shoot the turn after aligning then turning the truck and trailer at 90… instead of the 45 degree turn that you should take, thanks allot…. Again this lines are great

  • @janelleslivinskesmith6165
    @janelleslivinskesmith6165 2 месяца назад

    seems ike he was too close to the driver side cone when close to the parking spot. You can see it in the overview better, but you cut the ground view showing his correction to move it to the passenger side more when backing. Perhaps he even needed a pullup to get it more centered, but we dont see that nor the best way to do that. newbies rarely do a perfect maneuver. they need to correct the "imperfect" setup, so its good to see videos showing how to make corrections.

    The cone was directly behind the back tire. Theres no way he would not have run over it. They had to reposition tht truck so the truck wouldn't hit the cone,no doubt . Thts why they paused the filming for a second . Wish they would show it again. but, correctly this time.. Because I'm havg a hard time with my offset as well.

    Well.... That's one way to do it. But, I do have to say that if most of the DMVs around the Country see those "cheat" marks on the trailer they will end the test and send the student away. The way I teach you turn the wheel 3 times. And don't waste a get out seeing if you crossed the center line. Mostly, SMH at the "cheat" lines though.

      Still the same concept, but it'll be much faster. If you ever back a dolly, just a quarter turn for less than 1 second. That's why some drivers slide the tandems to the very rear when they back. I prefer my tandems all the way to the front when backing. Shorter wheelbase length, but the rear of your trailer will swing out more. Everything has pros & cons.
      None of these trucking school mention this. When you're going forward, you're PULLING. When you're in reverse, you're PUSHING. Don't understand the concept, push/pull any object, like your phone or cigarette box. It's all about the placement of your tandem. The front of your vehicle, it doesn't really matter where it is, left, center, right (if you have plenty of space).
