I only step into NMZ when I need points for house redirects or imbuing something, the rest of my stats come from just playing the game normally, and I feel like that is absolutely why I never thought slayer was that bad. I just used it as a way to break up the monotony of training in one spot for hundreds of hours, which is difficult for my ADHD brain to handle. Anyone else feel the same way? I honestly feel like if someone starts slayer in their low combats and just grinds it as if it's a combat stat, keeping it roughly in line with the rest, it's just a great way to unlock content *WHEN ITS RELEVANT* for your account! Around a dozen levels from maxing a HCIM I made last year and would say my favorite skill is runecrafting and least favorite slayer. Generally things like Runecrafting, Agility, and and tick manipulate skills (woodcutting, fishing, mining, etc.) are considered some of the best in the game by skillers as the skills are closest to their original form in the glory days of Runescape while also having new high intensity methods. Despite runecrafting being my favorite skill, I find it has been harmed greatly by Guardians of the Rift and Scarr Essence Mine as they both have come to devalue actual runecrafting, with scar in particular making post 99 runecrafting nearly pointless. Slayer has always been my least favorite due to its high unpredictability. Some boss slayer tasks can take days if not motivated to do current task, whereas others take minutes with bursting/cannon. It is particularly bad on ironmen accounts as a boss becomes dead content if having all uniques from it but not the pet. Could easily get dozens of excess completely useless drops on a pet grind that have absolutely 0 value to the account.

14:45 Firemaking was the OG "efficiency" skill in super early days of runescape, while most skills were relatively slow and clunky.. Firemaking was actually relatively fast with the lines of fire and lot of people used to do it in Draynor village especially because you could cut the willows and instantly burn them for two relatively straight forward skills. But unfortunately that skill stayed in 2003 while rest of the skills moved forward. I personally do like to meme grind firemaking and I'm currently at 550 million exp on it across multiple accounts, but I can safely say that the only actually good thing from firemaking is the permanent fires you can light up after the troll quest line and that's it.. There's no other real benefit to firemaking than small amount of QoL that you forget week later that you even did anything.
Varlamore thieving is kinda lit. I think it’s just the regular thieving plugin. It’s like 40-60k exp(I think can’t remember) Wait for the notification, tab back in, and click the guy with a blue tag. Beat btd6 while doing it
woodcutting with other players is actually better with other players since the forestry update. the tree timer scales with number of players chopping now.
Trees no longer have a chance to despawn after each log gets cut anymore. It works like the ores in Motherload, where it's a specific timer that counts down once the first log is chopped. Also you get bonus WC levels for each person chopping the same tree, so they actually reversed it and made you *WANT* other people on your tree now lol
Magic is THE best skill in the game. It's good for combat, but also has so many utilities. Construction is a close second. Having the best skill cape combined with the pool and all the teleports. I would also put slayer higher because of the potential money made from it. :P
@@Phnxkon Yeah, I worked my way to 99 over the course of a few months building oak dungeon doors for like an hour a day. I despise levelling cons, but in spite of that it is my favourite skill because of the utility it offers but also just the memories I have of it from before Runescape became all about efficiency and cons was basically used to socialise and show off.
I was talking to a friend this week about mining and smithing being mostly pointless and we think the solution is there needs to be a new type of equipment that can only be acquired by mining the material raw and smithing it. Almost every ore you can mine and piece of armor you can smith can be aquired by killing mobs or bought from an NPC shop and is significantly easier than getting the mining level and smithing level. Even for iron men, there's almost no point
brother you can make an ironman for untradable shit. jagec need to stop with the ironising of mains and the maincreep in irons. i see it all the time with hunter updates, scar ess mine, blood charges, charges in general, toa drop rates, nightmare buffs, etc. they are making irons devalued cos irons that want to be mains cry, and they are adding more untradable shit for mains cos mains r crying that they want to be irons. fuck this shit, both game modes r basisaclly identical now. keep the differences please. PS i have both an iron plus main, and rn the only fucking difference between my acocunts is i need to do herb runs on iron, everything else is 100% attainable thru pvm/shopscape. not even an ironman at this point, iron is ONLY for gear upgrades, they have completely fucked all skilling aspects that made irons unique. name me one method (other than bank skills ie craft/herb) that is actually slower for an iron. trust me ive played both and i wish they would just keep irons and irons and mains as mains.
@pakchoy9334 I think you misunderstood me. I didn't say the items should be untradeable. I said that they shouldn't be acquired via slaying monsters. My issue with mining and smithing is that it is barely anything of value can come from the skill. It's way easier to acquire rune ore and bars from killing monsters than actually mining it and making it, and rune equipment gets out classed after level 50 base combat. This idea would be tradable so it gives people training to high mining and smithing a really good money making method while giving iron men something to train for
@@roshango125ab my bad yeah i did missread. i like that, can get behind it. issue is not even mining and smithing only, every log/plank can be obtained via pvm too for etc, they really should remove alot of skilling items from PVM imo but thats what most people enjoy, loot tables like zulrah etc that shit skilling gp. sad game
as a 340 days 16 hours play time maxed ironman as of time of typing this. saying this early just watched 15 min, but the way its explained make me disagree with a lot of what he say and the ranking of it. i agree everything he said about agility so im not just hating here. i will reply to my comment after it all. but i can clearly see as an ironman my way of thinking is way diffrent and skill ranking because of that
yea now after actually watching the video. i did disagree with some of the things he said about skills some kept the same ranking but with diffrent reasoning, example of crafting that he ranked high pretty much just based on the skill cape perk and it otherwise being useless. on an iron a lot of the gear progression is directly tied to the skill. glory being 80 fury being 90 and torture being 98 (-5 for some because stew boost) id rank it about same but for a way diffrent reason, and you should do more of these i enjoyed the video a lot. ive always loved learning about other peoples paths through the game. and the opinions of people with a path yet to walk. ranking based on money and buyable skills is also wastly diffrent for me as an iron. still a great video keep it up cant wait to see the next beginner walkthrough.
@@ragemeee9194 nice to see people talking about skills but yes it is completely everybodys opinion... different goals methods .. most importantly TIME ..
Slayer is definitely a LOVE it or HATE it skill. Similar to Agility and Hunter imo. People are so divided on it, on one side you have the people who say you can train all your CB's to 99 while also making hundreds of mil gp and new unlocks. Then the latter (like me) who see the 35k/hr xp rates at 70+ and having to kill 150 of the same monster for 4 days straight as boring.
Theory: NMZ and sand crabs 100% kills the enjoyment of Slayer for people. I've only played Ironman and never touched NMZ/sand crabs for combat stats. Combat stats and Slayer go so hand in hand, if you max combat at NMZ then start low level slayer, you're hating slayer 100% EDIT: I may be ironman biased regarding Slayer, having to unlock key items locked close to 99
as a almost maxed ironman, Herblore is a shitty skill that u need to level up but dont want to deal with the secondaries and takes ages to get to 99. But maybe herblore minigame will fix this.
it depends how u rank the skills. if you rank from POV fun/time to train, herb is lowest on iron with prayer. if your ranking based on functionability, unlocks, prestige, it would be #1 for irons. thats the main issue with these tier lists, they are not consistently judged. for example he put slayer very low because it was boring for him but akdknoledged it is super useful. whereas he put crafting very high because he said it is very useful, but super boring. He did not rank consistently, and thats why you see these varying lists.
@@pakchoy9334 tbf prayer got buffed for irons alot, valamore gave u easy prayer now, from 89-95hunter i got 101k bone shards banked so 606k prayer exp, u can also mine shards and thieve them, if you realisticly lvl up those 3 skills there to 99 u will prob have well above 99prayer, and with the mining having a afk time of like 1min and exp rate of 35k/hr u see alot of ppl do it for mining exp
I play the game totally different. would love to share! I have 5 different types of pk accounts. Currently finishing a max lvl 99 combat NH tribrid acc.
Slayer is A tier on Ironman. It’s just so so enjoyable getting mid game drops. This video means nothing coming from a casual player. You needed to get he box jonge on this video
Like the way he describes Hunter as such a useless skill. Playing the actual game with an Ironman Hunter is one of if not the most useful skill to level up on an Ironman especially early game. Hard watch I gotta click out
It's literally a pair of guys talking about their opinions and how much he likes each skill. They're not claiming to make an objective usefullness tier list. Why get mad about it? Why would he bring he box jonge to the video, he has his own channel and has actually made a similar tier list video. A casual player and a speedrunner are going to prioritise completely different things, jonge's opinions are worthless to a casual audience just like this guy's opinions are to a hardcore audience
You don't agree with the subjective opinion of another player, so there must be something wrong with that other player. Surely it isn't possible that you just prioritise different things?
Slayer at C is wild its literally a money printer and is very important for an account. At least he got crafting somewhat right should be S not A just because of that skillcape teleport and how fast you can level it even with only spending a moderate amount of gp what is green d hide bodies like 30-40 hours not that bad at all i cant tell you how many times ive used my crafting cape teleport at least 20k times
On the comment about osrs not being p2w because of how much it would cost... Sit down and look at the actual numbers and compare what you would spend on OSRS vs other p2w games, you will find that it's comparable or cheaper, OSRS is a very fun game, and the fact that it contains p2w doesn't take anything away from that, but I think that comment was kinda silly, and also shows how sneaky jagex has been about p2w in osrs.
Im 116 combat lvl, 90 att & def, 96 str. Im 92 slayer and never afk trained my mellee/ranged or mage stat. Im making passive money feom slayer that pays for all my desires to level other skills. It paid for all my gear upgrades as soon as i was able to wear any of them (like bandos or even barrows armour when i hit 70 def) yall rlly disrespect the skill and honestly i dont think you guys understand how good that shit is 🤣
For Ironman accounts, Agility and Construction are the only other 2 S tier skills besides Prayer. Agility in particular is worth it purely for the stamina regen alone. Even without graceful or shortcuts it'd still be A tier.
You weren't reallt getting dragging for where you put things, it was the reason WHY you put them there. Also, if you hate runecrafting because of all the running to and from bank, please do gaurdians of the rift, it literally takes ALL of that running out of it
i dont mind actually spending 13m gp on a bond i do it, i make above that in like the first few hours of it anyhow im in the pvp scene , its just ez to make gp there
trying to quit the game so i hope they do make bonds very expensive and unmanageable because id never waste my real life money on runescape . as i would gta6 when its out and stuff like that is so much more importent to me then this old game im hooked to like the rest of us. its like a bad drug . :D

Loved this vid!
Varlamore thieving is kinda lit. I think it’s just the regular thieving plugin. It’s like 40-60k exp(I think can’t remember)

woodcutting with other players is actually better with other players since the forestry update. the tree timer scales with number of players chopping now.
Your videos are too good for someone with at time of viewing the first video I watched by you 963 subs wtf heres my subby friend
Woodcutting is the perfect skill and every skill should have a woodcut-type option.
I love that slayer is the most divisive skill. It's personally my least favorite skill.
Your riding the runescape algo rn.
Magic is THE best skill in the game.
It's good for combat, but also has so many utilities.
Construction is a close second. Having the best skill cape combined with the pool and all the teleports.
I would also put slayer higher because of the potential money made from it. :P
Cons would be higher if the training wasn't repetitive AND fast. It's just awful
I love the fuck it I’m making the video again. Tier lists are lit.
Love the videos, would love to put my input with you at some point. IGN : Claws vs dds
This idea would be tradable so it gives people training to high mining and smithing a really good money making method while giving iron men something to train for
@@roshango125ab my bad yeah i did missread. i like that, can get behind it. issue is not even mining and smithing only, every log/plank can be obtained via pvm too for etc, they really should remove alot of skilling items from PVM imo
but thats what most people enjoy, loot tables like zulrah etc that shit skilling gp. sad game
As someone whose highest skills are fishing and mining, fair enough
as a 340 days 16 hours play time maxed ironman as of time of typing this. saying this early just watched 15 min, but the way its explained make me disagree with a lot of what he say and the ranking of it. i agree everything he said about agility so im not just hating here. i will reply to my comment after it all. but i can clearly see as an ironman my way of thinking is way diffrent and skill ranking because of that
yea now after actually watching the video. i did disagree with some of the things he said about skills some kept the same ranking but with diffrent reasoning, example of crafting that he ranked high pretty much just based on the skill cape perk and it otherwise being useless. on an iron a lot of the gear progression is directly tied to the skill. glory being 80 fury being 90 and torture being 98 (-5 for some because stew boost) id rank it about same but for a way diffrent reason, and you should do more of these i enjoyed the video a lot. ive always loved learning about other peoples paths through the game. and the opinions of people with a path yet to walk. ranking based on money and buyable skills is also wastly diffrent for me as an iron. still a great video keep it up cant wait to see the next beginner walkthrough.

Daeyalt + zmi is actually nearly as fast as just zmi if you're perfect and actually better if you're a sloppy zmier! You just get some less runes
Slayer is legit just aggressive farming contracts
Theory: NMZ and sand crabs 100% kills the enjoyment of Slayer for people.
I've only played Ironman and never touched NMZ/sand crabs for combat stats. Combat stats and Slayer go so hand in hand, if you max combat at NMZ then start low level slayer, you're hating slayer 100%
EDIT: I may be ironman biased regarding Slayer, having to unlock key items locked close to 99
I’m an iron too.
I am not hitting 12s on wyrms bro. I afked nmz hitting 45s makes slayer so much faster.
You will do post melee too so why not
Something like 90% of people with ADHD are addicted to nicotine lmao
interesting takes, now we need an ironman perspective to get herblore into S-tier
as a almost maxed ironman, Herblore is a shitty skill that u need to level up but dont want to deal with the secondaries and takes ages to get to 99. But maybe herblore minigame will fix this.
@@chaching4438 I enjoy getting secondaries 😎
it depends how u rank the skills. if you rank from POV fun/time to train, herb is lowest on iron with prayer. if your ranking based on functionability, unlocks, prestige, it would be #1 for irons. thats the main issue with these tier lists, they are not consistently judged. for example he put slayer very low because it was boring for him but akdknoledged it is super useful. whereas he put crafting very high because he said it is very useful, but super boring. He did not rank consistently, and thats why you see these varying lists.
@@pakchoy9334 tbf prayer got buffed for irons alot, valamore gave u easy prayer now, from 89-95hunter i got 101k bone shards banked so 606k prayer exp, u can also mine shards and thieve them, if you realisticly lvl up those 3 skills there to 99 u will prob have well above 99prayer, and with the mining having a afk time of like 1min and exp rate of 35k/hr u see alot of ppl do it for mining exp
agility is probably S tier and if i had to make some crazy efficiency account I would target agility
I play the game totally different. would love to share! I have 5 different types of pk accounts. Currently finishing a max lvl 99 combat NH tribrid acc.
Keeeepp Scaping brother! 🦾🦾🦾
Oh no, some men in a video on the internet don't agree with my opinion! Woe is me.
Cry more. 😂
i still dont agree with this max players placment tbh seems like he doesnt even like the game
Welcome to runescape 😊
You don't agree with the subjective opinion of another player, so there must be something wrong with that other player. Surely it isn't possible that you just prioritise different things?
29:25 jacob is a fake friend, i like nicotine as much as the next schmuck, but that's fucked
I did blast mining until 99 I love that skill
Slayer at C is wild its literally a money printer and is very important for an account. At least he got crafting somewhat right should be S not A just because of that skillcape teleport and how fast you can level it even with only spending a moderate amount of gp what is green d hide bodies like 30-40 hours not that bad at all i cant tell you how many times ive used my crafting cape teleport at least 20k times
On the comment about osrs not being p2w because of how much it would cost... Sit down and look at the actual numbers and compare what you would spend on OSRS vs other p2w games, you will find that it's comparable or cheaper, OSRS is a very fun game, and the fact that it contains p2w doesn't take anything away from that, but I think that comment was kinda silly, and also shows how sneaky jagex has been about p2w in osrs.
mining is c tier now with varlamore mining

There are a lot of maxed noobs in this game
If you think of it from an ironman perspective a lot of these skills would rate very differently.
I'm same boat, love agility hate slayer lol.
For Ironman accounts, Agility and Construction are the only other 2 S tier skills besides Prayer. Agility in particular is worth it purely for the stamina regen alone. Even without graceful or shortcuts it'd still be A tier.
The stamina regen alone for 99 agility is horrid, I don't think you realise how little it affects anything 😂
@@aceyyyy937you don't notice it past level 60/70 but before those levels it is actually pretty bad tbh

This vet plays a main?
May aswell interview a bot, talk to some irons :p
One of less than 200k people to ever max an account on OSRS and you're comparing him to a bot... laughable
@@Rwjlax barely 9k ironmax maxed their accounts, around 300 hc irons, not including dead ones, and barely 1k ultimate irons.
200k regular max capes in 10 years of osrs, and just as many, if not more in the years prior to eoc.
A maxcape on a regular acc is nice for the first time, gratz to the guest in the vid ofcourse, but you bought more then half your skills on the ge, and all your gear, you dont even interact with 80% of the game.
He maxed recently since he used stars, compare his tierlist to a real vet who maxed 2 decades earlyer and has maxed irons and its a completely different ballgame.
And it was meant to be laughable, but its not wrong 😂
@@tott598 I'm not diminishing Ironmen in my statement whatsoever; just because being a maxed Ironman is infinitely more impressive than a main, doesn't mean that having a main maxed isn't both a large accomplishment and time commitment. I play an Ironman myself, not maxed, and I don't even have a typical main.
I just think its disingenuous to belittle his achievements and call him not a "vet", just because you're comparing him to the top 0.001% of the player base. I'd love to have a maxed main, not to mention my Iron one day. You sound like a true vet of OSRS but just because he has less hours or less accomplishments doesn't mean he's isn't also a vet after thousands of hours.
And to end, this is just his good friend. It's not like he went out and tried to find the best person possible for this tier-list. Compared to Rubeus, Chris is a certified vet; to you, maybe he isn't. I found his opinions very interesting, and you both probably have more accomplishments in this game then I ever will. Just feel like getting maxed on any kind of account deserves its flowers.
@@Rwjlax but hes not a vet, did you hear him talk about creating his first pure and being surprised about how he got locked out of a bunch of locations?
That was rly cute from a veteran perspective 😅, and its something the actual vets have known for decades.
And again, its an opinion piece, there is no right or wrong here, just different perspectives from different eras of the game.
Im pretty sure if you ask the maxcaper hes not even going to be offended by this, will probably agree with my statement, because he knows enough to know hes not a vet.
And btw, you can watch me go after "HE box jonge" for his tierlist aswell, that guy is one of the biggest vets, nobody got buthurt there.
If you post tierlists your going to get disagreements, period.
@@tott598 Exactly, its just disagreement, nobody's "butthurt". I'll just stand by the fact that a veteran doesn't have to mean "know the game like the back of your hand". There's probably less than a thousand players like you've described out of the millions of total players. I'll just agree to disagree.
