Why do I get the feeling that the ideas brainstorming session went along the lines of: Martina: *busts through the door* "I've just had the best idea...!" Hansi: *sighs and opens Blender* "... I'll get the soldering iron heating up"
i just recently discovered your channel and i'm in loooove! i don't normally comment on youtube videos (like, ever) but i have some ideas of projects i would love to see you guys take on: 1. an ice palace using mostly clear materials? like acrylic, resin, recycled plastics, etc. 2. a LIVING diorama using mostly living materials! real moss, real water feature, real tree bark, etc. I think that would be SO COOL. 3. i would love to challenge Martina to make a super girly fairy village. lots of colors and lights and flowers. you guys normally do stuff that's kind of dark and that's super cool, but i'd love to see what you do with something fun and bright. all of these would be great projects and i'd love to see them come to life
You know how filmmakers create such models and film them so they look like actual huge buildings in movies - your work looks exactly like this, absolutely beautiful and with lots of details. I'm amazed that it was created only by two of you!
You’ve done all this work, and I wish i could see more of how you worked on this. I don’t understand why your videos are always so short. I could very easily watch this for 40 minutes.
I think that's what their Patreon is for - pretty sure they do more in-depth videos and updates and stuff on there. RUclips is just the free highlights.
As a Mistborn fan I congratulate you both on achieving the vibe I get from the books. The craft work and talent you both put into the city was amazing and is worthy of being used if they ever make a show of the books.
@@frikkinpenguinsome people (mostly nobles) can burn certain metals inside their bodies to give them specific strengths. Burning tin enhances sight, petwer strength. Iron and steel let you pull and push metals towards/away from you respectively. One of the main characters can burn all metals, yet isn't of nobility. That's the starting premise, but things heavily escalate from that. It's hard to explain without spoiling, but it's definitely worth a read. Sanderson is an amazingly dedicated and thorough writer. The Mistborn series is part of an MCU-like epic called the Cosmere where each book series takes place on a different planet with completely different magic systems while being vaguely related to eachother. Sanderson has found the perfect balance where the books have references for the reader who as read more books, but to no detriment of the first time reader. Reading a book for the first time, you'll likely not realize the significance of certain events, stuff like a seemingly random name referencing a character from a different book, but on a re-read, you'll be going "Wait a minute!" every couple chapters.
@@frikkinpenguin Reading the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson is a really good entry series into the Cosmere. Hope you enjoy the series as much as I do.😊
I love this channel so much. It just never disappoints. Every time I watch one of your videos, I immediately feel more creative and have to bring out whatever art project I’m working on at the time. You also inspired me to start learning Norwegian, and I am now planning on studying abroad in Norway in a year or two. Tusen takk Martina & Hansi for continuously creating masterful videos!
I'm calling it now: Video in 2025-ish, "We spent X weeks building our own real life castle! + moving vlog" They're gonna build and live in their own castle someday I'd swear haha. Love these awesome nerds.
I swear I still remember when you were making a book on a chair, I swear I was captivated back then and look how far you´ve come, I, even tho I never could do something so beautiful myself, am proud :) Thank you both
I love the Mistborn series! You should totally partner with Sanderson or let him know about your projects; he'd probably be stoked to get one of your masterpieces done for him
Absolutely stunning! Mistborn is one of my favorite series of all time and this is an incredible representation of how I saw the world in my head. If they ever do an adaptation the NEED to get you involved in designing the look and feel of the world!
We would need a lot of Martinas, which ain't happening... She is just perfectionist, which wouldn't really work there, they expect easy money with small effort, but if that ever happened we would be able to watch one movie within 20 years :D, which of course would be glorious to watch :D
The algorithm sent me down a rabit hole of your guys' videos, and I am so happy for it. I have never been a creative person, but your videos inspire me so much. This year, I am making hogwarts robes by hand for Halloween for myself and my husband. Your perseverance makes me not give up in my own project. ❤
Hogwarts robes? I dunno ... that seems pretty dang creative to me! Don't sell yourself short! Creativity takes many forms. If it makes you happy, go for it! Sewing isn't something I'm good at unless you count thread snarls and wonky or missed stitches as artistic. Lol The closest I've come to sewing is the felt fabric mosaic art I've done with my youngest grandkids. A My Little Pony project with my granddaughter and a felt Spiderman with my grandson. Cut out pieces, glue and patience.
@timshader8360 I think it's creative too, and that was kind of the point of my post. They inspire me to be able to do the project in the first place and not give up along the way. I've never done any sewing in my life, so kind of like Martina, I've bit off more than I can chew. Thank you for the kind words ❤️
In the movies all this stuff is now done as CGI, but thankfully real skill in physical models IS alive and well on platforms like this. A truly stunning build with soul that CGI just does not have. Incredible!!!
This came out so darn awesome. I hope you guys add to this over time. Maybe some torch street lights, some people around fire drums. You know, things like that. Just a thought. Id maybe even cut a hole in the wall, build a type of cubby and put this is in it. With a fake sun and moon. Lol idk. Great work you guys
I found this channel a while back and I´m so happy that I did! All the crafts (the term does not do them justice) are amazing and everything you do inspires me so much:D
Random idea for something to make: make a defuser that looks like a volcano or a factory because defusers release all the vaporized air that looks like smoke
I'm currently rereading Mistborn and showing it to my girlfriend, and when you first showed your artwork for what you were making I turned to her and said "hey, it's Luthadel." Then you said you based this off Mistborn hahaha! I love it! It turned out amazing, and I love the final results montage with the red sun!
Amazing! This perfectly captures the dark Mistborn book world, where ashes fall from the sky, the sun is red, buildings are covered in soot, and protagonists are flying around the thousand spires in the city!
It makes me smile when someone mentions one of Brandon Sanderson’s literary works in a place I don’t expect it. The Mistborn series is straight fire 🔥🔥🔥 happy to see y’all getting inspiration from it!!
I love it!! Reminds me of the city and Noble Keeps of Luthadel (from Brandon Sanderson's "Mistborn!") (edit: Holy crap, you even used the red sun in the "final result" shots! Excellent work!)
Small hack that works for most projects: take the time you think you'll need and mulitply it by an individual factor (try and error) somewhere between 3 and 5. Works with software, works with building stuff ...
The rehab part at 11:35 was brilliant lmfao. Well done with this one, definitely one of my favorites. I love the big projects tho. You 2 are extremely talented, bravo 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 . So freakin awesome
I desperately want a video from the perspective of someone walking through this. So beautiful. You two are constantly outdoing yourselves and it’s a joy to watch.

I hope you just continue doing what inspires you the most and makes you happy, I will stay subscribed and excited foy your content regardless but hoping for the return of the smaller things where Martina talked us though crafting all these various little details.
the wizard room studio is awesome. i loved watching the build, its awesome to see it in use. it would be cool if the window could change seasons, like 1 hour per season. so the time lapse would last like a year

Amazing job as always and keep up the good work
It looked amazing as it was being built, but the red lighting at the end absolutely sold it! It's totally Scadriel now! (and I know a cosplayer who used a mist system like that, to make Jasna's shardplate!)

This looks incredible!! You both did outstanding work, as always. Something that could look cool with the bigger windows is if you put a phone or some sort of screen with a rolling scene. e.g. someone walking up to the window, a ghost appearing and then disappearing etc, you could have a lot of fun with it - you could even film yourself dressed up in your costumes in your alchemy room there and then you would be in one of your castles you’ve made, lol.
This is AMAZING!!! 🤯😍 You just seem to keep outdo your self over and over! This is the most epic thing I've seen! 😍😍 And the way you guys filmed it at the end makes it all come alive! It's pure magic!! 😍😍
This project is a testament to your amazing patience and dedication! I'm always enthralled when watching your production process, no matter what art you're creating. And this one was ....huge! Glad to see you're happy with the results. Coolest parts? The lighting and the fog. Always the fog!
I tried an expensive bag of mango chips when I worked at the grocery store, the bag was definitely the best part, but the freeze dried cinnamon apple chips at the watering well are actually pretty good? Need another close up on the longer cobble stone architecture design though.

"A lady stared out of the window, looking at the large city, the people walking and talking around the streets, shops closing, and bars opening. The lady couldn’t help but look at all the fun happening in the streets. Suddenly, she heard a voice yelling, "Hurry up; we are going to be late to the opera." The lady quickly put on her long, silky black gloves, and then she placed a beautiful diamond necklace around her neck. Later, the lady arrived at the opera house. She sat down in the seats with her husband. She listened to the opera. It was beautiful, but little did she know that soon darkness would fall on the city and curse all the citizens with immortality." (Writing random stories on the things they build part 1) (Balls)
(Continuing random stories on the things they build part 1) The cramping of her stomach woke her in the middle of night, waves of nausea and cold crashing down on the lady’s body, while a sense of doom settled in her chest. Trying to reach her bathing chambers, she rose from her bed, only to crash to the floor shortly after. As if her own body had shut her out, she lay on the floor, shaking and trembling. She felt so immensely tired, so cold, so lost. The darkness in the corners of the room seemed to come alive, moving and growing until there was nothing but black surrounding her, stealing her sight, getting closer by the second. She fought, when the black tendrils left an ice cold touch on her skin, she poured every last part of herself into commanding her body to move. But to no avail. It didn’t take long for the darkness to swallow her whole, as she lay on the floor, unable to move and completely robbed of all senses, she felt it reach inside her soul, taking a golden sliver from it. The shadows retreated from the corners, from the walls and ceiling, gathering around her and seeping into her skin. Freezing cold lightning shot through her veins, taking over her entire body, creeping into her heart and settling into every fibre of her being. Then, everything changed. The lady’s eyes adjusted to the darkness, giving her a clear vision she had never known before. Her ears picked up the songs of nocturnal birds somewhere far away, the barking of several dogs in the dark alleys of the city. She smelled the jasmine oil she had bathed in on her skin, the lavender growing in pots on her windowsill. Her body was brimming with energy all of a sudden, filling her with the sense of newfound strength unlike anything she had known before. And then, from the corners of her room, the shadows began whispering to her. _Child of Night, I am calling you. Child of Darkness, I am claiming you. Child of the Void, I am Chaos and we are one._ Whatever had happened that night, it had affected every single citizen, killing most of them in the process. Every day for a week now, carriages flooded the streets, filled with corpses destined for the mass grave the people had dug outside the city. Two thirds of the population had been found dead in their homes, black veins covering their entire bodies and eyes turned completely black. The surviving citizens all told the same tale, growing shadows, complete helplessness and freezing cold. The only thing that separated the lady’s experience from everyone else‘s was the shadow‘s whispers, the voice that had called out to her. As if she had been only one to hear it. Edit: grammar
Three days after the night of the crawling mist, the lady found herself in front of the temple tribunal - that is, those of the council that had survived. She was one of many called to testify as to their experience that horrible night, and to be questioned as to why they had survived the ordeal while countless others perished. “What happened to you is not dissimilar to what happened to others we have heard here today,” noted the Chief Magistrate. “Yet you appear stronger, more hale of body than most others. Can you explain this ?” The lady hadn’t told anyone of the voice that spoke to her, afraid she might be accused of illicit sorcery or communion with unclean spirits. In the days since the mist appeared, no one else had mentioned hearing voices, so the lady kept what she had heard from the inquisition. “I don’t know why I am still alive, let alone why I seem to be unharmed. I suffered the same pains and agonies of the other townspeople, and yet … here I stand.” The council was not convinced. “Surely something about you differs from the others that still live ? Can you think of nothing that might account for this ?” asked the Third Prefect. The lady kept her silence, shaking her head in denial of the accusation, yet she knew one thing had been different about her on the day leading up to the plague night : a small blue mark had appeared on her right wrist, the size of a grape, in the shape of two snakes intertwined about a tree branch. The mark did not persist, and faded to barely visible as the day turned into evening. By the next morning, the blemish had all but completely vanished, leaving behind only a pale, ghostly impression of itself on her skin.
Me getting confused I Martina wasn't wearing her engagement ring in the start of the video, but then remembered this video over 20 days, so Hanzi probably hadn't proposed yey. I then spent almost half the video keeping tabs to see if she was wearing it AND SHE WAS! Congratulations to you both again btw (I said it on the FB post too) 😁😅❤️
What I love about Martina and Hansi is that, though they are so incredibly talented, they are humble about it. If I had one ounce of their talent, I don’t think I could be so modest hahaha
this whole build really reminds me of van helsing in the best way possible, especially the big round window. definitely getting major werewolf and vampire vibes :))
That's so impressive.😮 now i can only imagine adding some leafless trees, tattered banners, dead grass, a little bit more detail colour wise ( like stained glass from plexi and translucent paint), hanging rope/wood bridges connecting towers and houses which doors sre boarded up, abandoned carts, boxes with merchandise spilling out .and the few unlucky people running from smoke monsters who didn't hear the alarm in time..*insert scary music here* And a figure of pink and purple haired wizard observing the effects of the ancient curse.
That final cinematic... WOW! I could totally see Kelsier and an Inquisitor pushing their way up the tower with Mist swirling around! With the scale and epicness of each of these builds just growing, soon enough Martina and Hansi will have the entire Shattered Plains stretching across the floor! "Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination." 😆

Why do I get the feeling that the ideas brainstorming session went along the lines of:
Martina: *busts through the door* "I've just had the best idea...!"
Hansi: *sighs and opens Blender* "... I'll get the soldering iron heating up"
i just recently discovered your channel and i'm in loooove! i don't normally comment on youtube videos (like, ever) but i have some ideas of projects i would love to see you guys take on:
1. an ice palace using mostly clear materials? like acrylic, resin, recycled plastics, etc.
2. a LIVING diorama using mostly living materials! real moss, real water feature, real tree bark, etc.
What are the books about? I‘m desperately searching for a worthy series to read but I have found NOTHING and I‘ve been looking for weeks now.
Hope you enjoy the series as much as I do.😊
I got so excited when you mentioned the Mistborn series. I LOVE that series and my husband and I are huge Brandon Sanderson fanatics!
Would love to see more footage of this build. It's so pretty and detailed. I feel like I didn't see enough of it
I love this channel so much.
At this rate, I feel Martina is going to build a full size castle soon 🏰 :>
I'm calling it now: Video in 2025-ish, "We spent X weeks building our own real life castle! + moving vlog"
They're gonna build and live in their own castle someday I'd swear haha. Love these awesome nerds.
@@shirokku3279 then the next video will be them building a city around their castle and us fans can compete for residency
[glances over to suggested videos]
hmmm... looks like she already did that.
I swear I still remember when you were making a book on a chair, I swear I was captivated back then and look how far you´ve come, I, even tho I never could do something so beautiful myself, am proud :) Thank you both
Looks like a Yharnam cathedral. Great stuff!
I thought the same thing!
Praise the Good Blood!
Martina should have her own tv shows and movies 😩🤌🏻
For real, this quality is the one of Netflix or TV shows. Amazing🎉
A TV show would just determine what she does. She has her own show and you are watching it.
@@Mojova1 exactly!!!
We would need a lot of Martinas, which ain't happening... She is just perfectionist, which wouldn't really work there, they expect easy money with small effort, but if that ever happened we would be able to watch one movie within 20 years :D, which of course would be glorious to watch :D
Oh definitely!
The algorithm sent me down a rabit hole of your guys' videos, and I am so happy for it. I have never been a creative person, but your videos inspire me so much. This year, I am making hogwarts robes by hand for Halloween for myself and my husband. Your perseverance makes me not give up in my own project. ❤
Keep it up, doesn't have to be perfect, and can always be modified. Good luck :)
🙂
@@bardsamok9221 thank you 😊
In the movies all this stuff is now done as CGI, but thankfully real skill in physical models IS alive and well on platforms like this.
That ending montage shows how talented Martina is, absolute beauty, your hard work is admirable
WHY ARE YOU EVERYWHERE
15:30 basically city planning with road layout, piping, and electric. The level of detail is just amazing.
The Mug is great btw! Use it mostly for hot drinks but keeps stuff cold too, cool design!
It's so cool to finnally meet another Mistborn fan. It's such a great series and the author is great too!
I'd so love to see you do something like Bloodborne's Clocktower, or a part of Yharnam. It would be amazing!
I love that you used the Mistborn world as inspiration. They are such good books.❤
Killed it!! Epicness to the max. Another awesome build Martina and Hansi!!! Yay
I love it!! Reminds me of the city and Noble Keeps of Luthadel (from Brandon Sanderson's "Mistborn!")
(edit: Holy crap, you even used the red sun in the "final result" shots!
This is awesome, you two! Mistborn is an amazing series, and you have captured the vibe perfectly. Just how I would have imagined it. Great work!
I desperately want a video from the perspective of someone walking through this. So beautiful. You two are constantly outdoing yourselves and it’s a joy to watch.
How does she keep out doing her own creations time & time again. This is so epic. Love the smoke rolling down the streets. 1000/10
This is incredible! The cinematic shots at the end are so realistic. It looks like and actual city you could walk around in! First video I’ve watched from you, and you just got 1 more subscriber!
this is amazing!! man i really wish your videos were longer i love watching the process of it all coming together
My jaw dropped when you mentioned the inspiration for this project was the mistborn series, literally one of my favorite books ever! I'm absolutely in love with the end result 😍😍🤩🤩
I'm assuming it's the Brandon Sanderson series, right? I'm wanting to add it to my reading list
@@Spiker985Studios It's of the Brandon Sanderson series. WE NEED STORMLIGHT NERDFORGE BUILDS!!!
The Mistborn series is absolutely amazing. I deeply appreaciate this project, even more than usual :D
As super cool (and I really think its super cool!!!!) as this is I sometimes miss when you did smaller projects and it felt a little more personal instead of long epic timelapses. I hope you just continue doing what inspires you the most and makes you happy, I will stay subscribed and excited foy your content regardless but hoping for the return of the smaller things where Martina talked us though crafting all these various little details.
the wizard room studio is awesome. i loved watching the build, its awesome to see it in use.
it would be cool if the window could change seasons, like 1 hour per season. so the time lapse would last like a year
Love it ! If get a couple of natural stones , saves wasting aluminium foil , for texturing XPS ? Railway ballast ( granite) rock of choice, although something to look out for on happy wanderings , don't go on or near Railway !
It's not only the coolest foam city I've ever seen but it's also insane that it took you ONLY 20 days! The way that "impossible" turns to be pretty easy in your hands is just breathtaking
The amount of effort you put into your creations is insane. Great stuff as always!
The amount of work Is mindblowing. Every video is amazing
As a dungeon master, character designer and world builder the sponsor you have is absolutely amazing and helpful. The City you guys made is breathtaking and fantastic I always look forward to seeing more from you guys. Hopefully you don't go too crazy make a continent lol. Amazing job as always and keep up the good work
It looked amazing as it was being built, but the red lighting at the end absolutely sold it! It's totally Scadriel now! (and I know a cosplayer who used a mist system like that, to make Jasna's shardplate!)
Hogwarts castle next with the lake (resin) and giant squid in it I NEED IT (and other details like the thestrals escorting the students, etc)
“ And it’s hollowed out ✨If✨ we want to add lights”
When we all know that she is definitely going to add
✨LIGHTS!✨
omg i wish i were miniscule sized so that i could live in there. gothic houses and cities have always been my fantasy. this looks cool af
also "i might have trusted the process too much this time" 😂 martina is surprised that she girlbossed too close to the sun
This looks incredible!! You both did outstanding work, as always. Something that could look cool with the bigger windows is if you put a phone or some sort of screen with a rolling scene. e.g. someone walking up to the window, a ghost appearing and then disappearing etc, you could have a lot of fun with it - you could even film yourself dressed up in your costumes in your alchemy room there and then you would be in one of your castles you’ve made, lol.
ooh such good ideas!!
i’m still just obsessed with your office🤯the tv window just makes this whole video feel so idk lol i can’t explain
Omg as SOON as I saw the sketch to the city I INSTANTLY thought of Mistborn! So neat!!
That was frickin awesome! The close up shots to the castle looked like something out of an LOTR movie!!
The red light in the last shots combined with smoke effects gives me serious New World corrupted Myrkgard vibe! Really super nice!
I tried an expensive bag of mango chips when I worked at the grocery store, the bag was definitely the best part, but the freeze dried cinnamon apple chips at the watering well are actually pretty good? Need another close up on the longer cobble stone architecture design though.
Straight up looks like a late game area for dark souls or bloodborne. Looks absolutely INSANE! Bravo your talent and craft is absolutely mesmerising to watch!!
Martina's hard work, creative ideas, attention to detail, dedication and sense of humor, are amazing! She's so lovely. And her hair! I'm in love! Go Martina and Nerdforge!
if you give her a architect project she would definitely get like an A++ like girl i love your projects so freaking much
yoooo that red sunlight at the end made it SICK. Fantastic shots, and well crafted :D
I love how dramatic the painting montagesare
I saw the Thumbnail and instantly thought of Luthadel. It is so good. I personally imagined Kredik Shaw to look more like a sort of black sea urchin. 😅
Brandon really needs to hire you for something at some point 👌 Amazing work, as always, guys 😊 inspiring x
It was beautiful, but little did she know that soon darkness would fall on the city and curse all the citizens with immortality."

(Continuing random stories on the things they build part 1)
The cramping of her stomach woke her in the middle of night, waves of nausea and cold crashing down on the lady’s body, while a sense of doom settled in her chest. Child of the Void, I am Chaos and we are one._
Whatever had happened that night, it had affected every single citizen, killing most of them in the process.
@@frikkinpenguin omggg you’re awesome!
(Love the way you continued my comment! )
Can you explain this ?”
The lady hadn’t told anyone of the voice that spoke to her, afraid she might be accused of illicit sorcery or communion with unclean spirits. In the days since the mist appeared, no one else had mentioned hearing voices, so the lady kept what she had heard from the inquisition.
“I don’t know why I am still alive, let alone why I seem to be unharmed. I suffered the same pains and agonies of the other townspeople, and yet … here I stand.”
The council was not convinced.
Congratulations to you both again btw (I said it on the FB post too) 😁😅❤️
Awesome. I Don't know where you get the ideas from but I'm SOOOO GLAD you do. Thank you.
The vape as a smoke machine is truly inspired like OF COURSE but I never would have thought!
This looks so damn cool I can't wait to watch the whole video !!
What I love about Martina and Hansi is that, though they are so incredibly talented, they are humble about it. If I had one ounce of their talent, I don’t think I could be so modest hahaha
Sooo cool! I‘m actually rereading the series right now 😂 So it is the perfect timing 😁 I really can imagine Vin jumping from tower to tower 🤩
this whole build really reminds me of van helsing in the best way possible, especially the big round window. definitely getting major werewolf and vampire vibes :))
Imagine Martina scaling up her builds every year and in a few years she’s making a life size fantasy city (out of foam)
The only real way to use a vape is this 11:00
Photogrammetry! Hansie, a man after my own heart! One of my favourite things to do in archaeology, 3D models of artefacts. Takes AGES but well worth it
