Greg Allensworth needs to be removed from the USTA's official committee. If a gold badge umpire consistently under performs, yet sits at the very committee that moderates the official's code of conducts, nothing will improve. This is not just a problem specifically with Allensworth, there are numerous "gold badge umpires" that need to be demoted or retrained, yet manages to somehow keep their positions after consistently under performing.
@@user-tm1oy6ck4t Yep way too many...Moscarella, Friemel, Layhani, Tourte, list goes on and on. The organization doesn't have the structure to self-monitor it's staff and umpires/officials. Allensworth's ineptitude is at least just incompetence, but some have gotten away with way worse from racism, sexism, and straight up sexual harassment (and still faced no real consequences). ATP & WTA needs to do what they are made to do, which is represent the tennis professional's rights and demand re-training or removal of inappropriate individuals from umpiring/officiating.
If a tournament is on the ATP/WTA calendar (I understand that it may be too much of an ask for Challengers, Futures, etc), then there needs to be two things. First, automatic line calling, for which there are systems that work “fine enough” on clay and, even with their errors, are better than the human eye. If not that, then video review needs to be part of the challenge system for players, and honestly, I wouldn’t be upset if umpires were required to “prove” their “decisions” with video review if they’re ever called in to make the final call for something. It’s only fair🤷🏻♂️
Greg Allensworth is terrible, but to be honest... Draper had a much terrible attitude, he knows exactly what happened, in the video it is clear that after hitting the ball he realizes that it was an illegal play, helooks at the referee, and when he sees that he didn't notice, he changes his mind and go to the net... If I were him I would admit that yes, I realized it right away and then I was wrong with my attitude, I'm embarrassed and I apologize... it would be much more noble of him. Hes are an excellent player, but for the millisecond of sportsmanship that crossed his mind, he lost a lot of fans, inlcuding me.
The problem with tennis Umpires is that never change the decision even if they KNOW they are wrong..and secondly..WHAT'S THE POINT OF HAVING SUPERVISORS? I NEVER SAW 1 OF THEM CHANGING A DECISION
Umpires making a mistake is one thing, but can we all agree that it’s equally unacceptable that the supervisors that don’t overrule their mistakes are practically useless in these situations? I feel like supervisors should have no reason to be siding with umpires when they’re wrong especially when it’s their literal job to oversee replays and points. It makes sense for umpires to come up with decisions/calls during the moment, but if supervisors are involved, then video replays, hawkeye, and simple knowledge of the rules should be regulated. They either try so hard to be the “middle man” or they back-up the umpires decision, but in the end of the day, they just look absolutely clueless. Greg Allensworth sucks but supervisors gotta get their shit together
Just think though these are pro players. How many peoples carrers do you think were ruined at a lower level because there are no officials like other sports at highschool or college levels. Tennis is the only sport where it's based on trust at high school (we know its hard to trust highschool students to be fair and sportsman like) and college level. However, every other sport. Volleyball, basketball, football, soccer all of them have a refferee to make sure none of this happen.
FAA vs Draper: it wasn't the case of double bounce. It was volley: racket then bounce of the own court. Please correct it, it's very important. Also VAR from Kichenok double hit was checked and corect decision was upheld.

corruption and they know to much, they bully and intimidate too.......
Too many "sacred cows" among umpires.
Adel Nour as well

Worst umpire in recent years get him out 😂

Me when I'm in a making the wrong call competition and my opponent is Greg Allensworth
All the clips from other matches just to show the players faces is just annoying. Thumbs down.
referees are making themselves way too important nowadays, its crazy

Especially considering he only offered to replay the point if it was a double bounce. Not even concede it 🤦♂️
The year of bad umpires
Video replays should be introduced.
They have been. US open reviewed a double hit on championship point of the women’s doubles final.
If we can start questioning the umpire, the umpire is the problem
The ai voice is crazy
Probably someone reading a script.
Yea he’s utterly useless .
lost all my respect for Haddad Maia

Your video would have more meaning if you showed the actual incidents. I stopped watching after the shapovalov/shelton description.
SORRY

5:04 That image is of the first bounce. It honestly wasn't clear that it was a double bounce.
If you follow the trajectory it’s much more clear. And as a player you usually can FEEL when you hit a ball like that.
I see a lot of people agree with you..
